Chapter Text
“Good, because I have plans for you.” Alear rolled them over so he was on top of Alcryst, then scooted back and got to his knees on the floor at the foot of the bed. Alcryst put up no resistance as he was pulled further down the bed by his hips, Alear hooking the slender man’s knees over his shoulders. Alear slid his hands up Alcryst’s taut thighs to grip him at his waist, then looked up to Alcryst’s face to make sure he got the picture. He was watching Alear with his pupils blown. “Can I put my mouth on you?” Alear asked him.
Alcryst looked like he short-circuited for a second before nodding enthusiastically. Alear smiled and wasted no time tasting him for the first time, running his tongue from his entrance up to his clit. Alcryst moaned so loudly that he slapped his hand over his mouth automatically. Alear reached up and gently pulled his arm away. “I want to hear you,” he said.
Alcryst let his hands fall to the bed above his head. “O-Okay.” It was properly morning now, but even if someone happened to be awake and overheard them, Alear would consider it well worth it.
He leaned back in and started working his lover over with his lips and tongue, starting slow to get him used to the sensation. Even so, the prince sounded completely different now, his moans pitched higher and breathier. Alear had foggy memories from long ago of the first time he felt someone’s mouth on him; he knew it was overwhelming the first time, totally different from the feeling of someone’s hand or anything else. He imagined it was probably even more so for someone with Alcryst’s anatomy.
He dipped his tongue inside, and Alcryst gasped, hands flying to Alear’s head, not pulling on his hair, just gripping him tightly. His thighs flexed on either side of Alear’s neck. He smiled against Alcryst’s center; he was reacting even better than he’d hoped. This was a far cry from the tense Alcryst of last night who couldn’t make himself relax. It was getting addictive to spoil him like this. He pulled Alcryst closer by his firm waist as he moaned against his cunt, the vibration causing the prince to almost shout, his thighs squeezing him again.
Now that Alear didn’t have to think about his own arousal, he could pour all his concentration into driving Alcryst over the edge. He went slow, massaging him with the flat of his tongue, drawing it out just enough that he knew the buildup would pay off in a powerful orgasm. He gave Alcryst little breaks, switching to kissing the soft skin of his inner thighs, prolonging his gradual slide to the edge. Sometimes, he would pleasure him with just the very tip of his tongue, leaving his hips twitching upward, seeking out more contact. The way they interlocked felt so natural, his hands on Alcryst’s waist, his mouth between his legs, Alcryst holding onto his head and hooking his ankles together behind Alear’s back like an embrace. Alear wasn’t always comfortable with the adulation he received from the citizens of Elyos and many of his allies, but this was a kind of worship he could feel in his heart, bright and magnetic, pulling him as close to his lover as he could get.
Alcryst had one hand grabbing onto the pillow behind him to anchor himself, the other on Alear’s head, mindlessly scratching lines across his scalp. “Alear, I- Can I-”
Alear took his mouth off of Alcryst for just long enough to answer what he knew Alcryst was trying to say. “Yeah. Come for me.”
He felt Alcryst’s legs shake and his back arch as he moaned beautifully for him. He kept sucking gently on his clit through his orgasm, until his muscles went completely slack and he lay there catching his breath, whimpering sweetly. His hips were still twitching, his hand still resting in Alear’s hair.
Alear climbed back up onto the bed, laying down between Alcryst’s legs. Alear slid his arms around Alcryst’s back, holding him close, nuzzling under his chin and leaving soft kisses there as he recovered. While it was the safest he’d ever felt, it also gave him a feeling like standing at the edge of a cliff; time stretched out before him, the promise of falling asleep like this every night calling out to him. All he had to do was step off the edge.
Eventually, Alcryst’s arms wrapped around his back. He laughed weakly. “I can see why you wanted to do that so much,” he said.
“Any time you want,” Alear told him. He wanted to say something about that feeling, to ask Alcryst if he felt it too. The pull of that endless fall, the indefinite time spread out before them. How he wanted to commit to it and throw them off that cliff together.
But he didn’t want to scare him. Not only did they have the final stretch of a war before them, and no way of knowing how it would end. It was only the first day since they crossed that final threshold between their bodies. The one between their hearts felt harder to overcome, even laying there in each other’s arms.
Now that he was listening, he could hear people talking out in the rest of the Somniel. The sun had properly risen, its light streaming over the tops of the orchard trees to warm their bare skin. They would have to part ways soon. They would have to return to the fight. Alear had never found himself particularly afraid before battle; their mission was a just one, and the fighting needed to be done. In that same vein, he trusted his allies’ skills - more to the point, Alcryst’s skills. He was their best archer, and his gymnastic movements meant he was fast at dodging attacks. Alear had seen him do two backflips before firing an arrow just the other day. The man had been invaluable thus far. But after waking up with him in his arms and seeing that peaceful smile, that didn’t feel like enough. He wanted to keep him here, safe in his room, until the war was over and Elyos was safe. He knew it wouldn’t be fair to ask it of him, and he didn’t think Alcryst would agree to it anyway. He was driven to fight for his own reasons. Alear’s thoughts drifted to the pact ring in his keepsake drawer. He knew it was too soon, but the temptation was there.
“What are you thinking about?” Alcryst asked, his fingertips drawing patterns on Alear’s back. He sounded a little anxious, and Alear realized he hadn’t spoken for a while.
“I’m just…worrying,” he admitted.
“Anything I can help with?” Alcryst asked.
Alear didn’t want to bring down the mood. And he didn’t want to make Alcryst any more nervous than he already tended to be. But he couldn’t lie to him, either. “I just want you to be safe. I know you can take care of yourself on the battlefield, but it still makes me uneasy. Anything could happen out there. And I care about you, a lot.”
Alcryst left a kiss on the top of Alear’s head. “I think it’ll be okay. We’re ready for this fight; we have all our allies, and we have the experience we’ve gained until now. We can stop Sombron. We’ll make a peaceful world, one even better than before. I trust you to lead us there.”
Alear pushed himself up on his elbows. “Don’t take this the wrong way, but you sound a lot more confident than usual.”
Alcryst smiled meekly. “I guess you found the secret to quieting down my brain.”
Alear leaned in and kissed him, slowly, memorizing the feel of him. Still, it was hard to pull away. “I won’t let anything happen to you,” he said. “Today, or ever. So, don’t waste any time worrying about me out there. Just stay safe for me. Alright?”
Alcryst paused, just looking into Alear’s eyes, then nodded. “Okay. But you take care of yourself, too. I don’t- This can’t be the last-”
Alear kissed him once more before he could start spiralling. “I know. I…feel the same way. And…”
Alcryst quirked an eyebrow. “Hm?”
Alear tucked his head back into Alcryst’s neck. His heart was tripping over itself, but if he didn’t say anything now, he was afraid he might never get the chance. He took a deep breath. “I love you, Alcryst,” he said in almost a whisper. When Alcryst didn’t say anything, he pulled back anxiously to look at his expression. Alcryst’s eyes were wide, just staring up at the ceiling, but he didn’t seem like he was about to bolt or anything. “Are you…okay?”
“Me too!” Alcryst said suddenly. Then, more quietly, “I mean, I do too. I love you,” he said, making the full eye contact Alear had been too afraid of. He tenderly stroked Alear’s cheek. “I love you, too. So, stay safe for me. Okay?”
Alear smiled. “Okay.”
