Chapter 2: Mary Collins
So the years go by and today everything will change because a young warlock will come to Camelot named Merlin. Elia looks out of his window onto the marketplace where the execution of Thomas Collin will happen. He looks back onto his book and begins to read, he can hear Uther's speech but has no interest in it, till he can feel magic. He looks back out of his chambers and sees an old woman that has appeared on the platform where Thomas Collin was executed, and she says a few things; the only thing that he really hears is a son for a son, and then she vanishes into thin air. He knows that this will come back to bite Arthur because it can only mean that the woman will kill Arthur. He thinks about going to Kilgarrah in the night. He continues reading till he feels strong magic in the chambers of Gaius. He wants to go and see what happens, but before he is by the door, it opens and Uther comes inside.
"Hello Uther, what can I do for you?" asks Elia. "Elia, are you ready for our feast?" asks Uther. "I don't understand why we have a feast for killing so many people", says Elia. "Because magic is evil and it corrupts, and needs to be cleansed from this world, magic took my wife and your father," says Uther. "Uther, that is just a devil's circle, we hurt them, they hurt us" says Elia. "Elia, hear me out: magic is evil and corrupts, and you can change nothing about it, you are the same as Morgana; we just before had the same discussion, and you will partake in the feast, it does not matter whether you want or not," Uther says. He walks out of Elia's chamber, and when he is out of it, Elia hits a wall and you can see a dent in the stone.
He goes to the chambers of Gaius and knocks on the door. Gaius opens it. "Is everything OK, Elia?" asks Gaius. Elia looks for a moment in the chambers of Gaius, but he can see nothing dangerous, so he says, "I was looking if you would have something for a sore arm." Gaius gives him a cream. "You just need to smear it onto the sore part and it should heal pretty fast," says Gaius. "Thank you," answers Elia. He goes back into his chambers and waits till night comes, and when night has come, he sneaks down to Kilgarrah. "Kilgarrah, I need your help," says Elia. Kilgarrah lands before him. "What is it, Elia?" asks Kilgarrah. "Someone wants to kill Arthur and I felt a strong magic power today," says Elia. "You do not need to be scared because this magic is Emrys, his, and as you know, he is destined to protect Arthur, he will save him from the witch, and so you do not need to intervene" says Kilgarrah. "I will trust you," answers Elia. He goes back into his chambers and goes to sleep.
The next day, he goes to meet Morgana. 'How are you, Morgana?' asks Elia. "Good, I can just not understand why the people have a feast for murder," says Morgana. "I feel the same way, Morgana, but how are your nightmares?" asks Elia. "Better, but still here," answers Morgana. "Do you want to go to the marketplace and go shopping?" asks Elia. " Yes, that would be good. So they go shopping and talk about what they have planned. Gwen walks behind them. They can see how Arthur is treating his servant and want to intervene when a boy not older than 16 intervenes. Elia can feel an old kinship in the boy. Then, the Guards come and bring him away. Elia walks to Arthur. 'What did he do?' asks Elia. "He did not show respect to me," answers Arthur. "So you have him brought to the dungeons for not showing you respect?" says Morgana. "Let him go, and if I have seen it right, he did not even know you were the prince," answers Elia. "I don't care," answers Arthur, and he walks away. They walk to the castle to talk with Uther, and when they get to him, they see Gaius talking with him. "He will stay for one night in the dungeon, and then go to the stocks for a few hours, and that is the lowest I can go for our friendship," says Uther. "I understand, and I am thankful," says Gaius. "I don't think we could even bring it lower," says Elia. "I also don't think," says Morgana. They go into their chambers, and Elia goes reading.
The next day, Elia goes to the stocks. When he sees Gwen talking with the boy, he joins them. "Hi, Gwen, and what is your name?" asks Elia. "I'm Merlin, and what is your name?" asks Merlin. "I'm Elia, and I have seen how you stood up to Arthur yesterday; that was very brave," says Elia. When Elia has finished his sentence, a knight comes to them. "Sir Elia, Sir Arthur said I should bring you to him to train," says the knight. "Sorry, I need to go, but I hope we will see us again," says Elia, and he walks away. In the training, nothing much happens except that Elia beats Arthur in a sword fight. After the training, Elia goes to eat lunch with Morgana. "How does training go?" asks Morgana. "Very good, Morgana, and what did you do today?" asks Elia. "I for my part did read, but I would love to train again with a sword," says Morgana. "Why don't we go in the afternoon into the Woods and train a little with the sword?" asks Elia. "That would be a wonderful idea, I will tell Gwen she should make things ready for a picknick, so Uther will believe we will just have a picknick," answers Morgana. "That is a good plan, and I will get two swords," answers Elia. Gwen comes back with a few fruits. "Gwen, I would like from you that you ready things for a picknick," says Morgana. "I will ready that, my lady," Gwen says. "I will see you down at the stables," says Elia. He goes out of the room and goes to the armoury and takes out two swords, after he is finished he gets Balrhae and goes to the stables.
There he sees Morgana waiting for him, Gwen is also right now coming. They ride out, and when they are in a clearing, Gwen makes the picnic ready and Elia takes out the two swords. "So then, let's see who is better," says Elia. They start trading blows, Elia can see that Morgana is good, even though she does not often have a sword in her hand, she is better than most knights. "That's very good, Morgana, a bit more training and you would be able to have your own with the best knights," says Elia. "Yes, I try to train with a sword when no one is near me, but it is still difficult without a partner," says Morgana. "Morgana, you can win that," says Gwen. "I don't think so, Gwen, Elia is near the level of Arthur, but he is much better than I am," answers Morgana. In the end, Elia is able to disarm Morgana with a good hit. "That was really good, Morgana. Let's eat picnic," says Elia. "I agree with that," says Morgana. "And do you have anybody that you like, Gwen?" asks Elia. "No, I don't have anybody I like, and do you have anybody, Elia?" answers Gwen. "I have somebody, but I do not think that this person has the same feelings as me," answers Elia. "Who is it?" asks Morgana. "It does not matter who it is, and what about you, Morgana?" answers Elia. "I also have somebody, but it does not matter," answers Morgana.
Now Elia is talking with Balhare and Gwen sees how Morgana looks at Elia. "My lady why dont you talk with Elia about it?" asks Gwen. "I dont understand what you mean?" asks Morgana. "I would need to be blind to not see how you look at Elia" answers Gwen. Morgana blushes "I dont have feelings for Elia Gwen and even if I would have Elia would not feel the same way" answers Morgana. "If you say so, then I will not continue to ask" says Gwen. "Thank you Gwen" says Morgana.
"I think we should go back home, because if its starts to become dark Uther will worrie for us" says Elia. "Then lets go back, even though I would like to stay a bit longer" answers Morgana. "I know I to but you know how Uther is" answers Elia. "Yes, Yes then lets go back" answers Morgana. Gwen and Balrhae clear up the picknick and then the four of them ride back to the castle. There they have dinner with outer and then go sleeping.
The next day nothing much happens exept the feast. When Lady Helen starts signing Elia can feel, that there is Magic in youse and he sees that the people start falling asleep he also plays sleeping but he can see that Merlin is closing his ears and then Elia can see that Lady Helen turns into Mary Collins and that the Eyes of Merlin turn gold when Mary Collins puls out a dagger and the chandelier fals on Mary Collins and the people start to wake up but then Mary Collins still trows the dagger but time slows down and Merlin tackels Arthur to the side and the dagger flies into the chair where Arthur was siting. Elia is happie that nothing happens and when Uther says "You shall be rewarded a position in the royal houshold. You shal be prince Arthurs manservant." Elia knows that Merlin is the man that will need Elias help in the future to protect Arthur. So he decides to talk to Merlin after the feast.
'Merlin, good to see you,' says Elia. 'Elia, Gwen told me you are the King's ward,' says Merlin. "Yes, that I am, but it is not why I want to talk with you. Let's get somewhere where nobody hears us," answers Elia. They walk out of the throne room. "What did you want to talk about?" asks Merlin. "I have seen how you used Magic to save Arthur's life, I know that it is your destiny to protect Arthur and I will help you, so if you have any problems just ask" says Elia. For a moment, Merlin turns very pale, but when Elia is finished with his sentence, he gets more colour. "So, what now?" asks Merlin. "Nothing much except that you now know that you're not alone in this," answers Elia. They go back to the feast.
