Chapter Text
Katie comes to and finds herself in a world she’s never been. It’s beautiful. Clouds surround the entire area, and the rest is a mesmerizing light yellow. It’s warm.
She’s never been here. She knows she hasn’t. But it feels so familiar.
”Katie, my beautiful creation.” A heavenly voice rings in her ears, a sound like sweet like honey.
”H-Hello? Who’s there?” Katie asks, a little nervous, but not scared. This place is so beautiful and welcoming, it’s hard to feel anything negative.
A figure begins to form before her. Glowing ginger hair that looks like it never stops. Fair skin, and flowing light pink robes. Her face is not visible, covered by a heavenly light. Lastly, she has wings that span over the entire rest of Katie’s field of vision. Shes a giant, but somehow retains an elegant delicacy.
”It does not matter who I am. You will learn soon enough. Would you like to know what you are capable of?” The beautiful woman questions, outstretching her hands to Katie.
Katie unconsciously steps towards the woman, drawn to her.
”What I’m capable of? What does that mean?” Katie asks, her eyes not knowing where to look.
”You have great power in you, my child. Now that you have grown, so too must your capabilities. I’m here to show you how to reach these.” The woman explains, and somehow Katie feels anyone could listen to her speak utter nonsense for hours and still never get bored.
”How do you know that?” Katie puzzled, her eyes still wide.
”My child, I know everything about you. I know things you yourself do not. I am all knowing.” The woman declares, her glow increasing and enveloping Katie in a warmth like sunshine on her skin.
”…What are you?” Katie finally asked, bewildered by her otherworldly nature.
”My identity will be known when it is time to be known.” The woman chuckled, her laughter warming Katie’s heart and easing her body.
”Now come, and let me guide you to your growth, for it is time for you to gain more of this power I have given you.” The woman continues. She reaches for Katie, her hand bigger than Katie’s entire body. As soon as her finger lays on Katie’s temple, her vision floods with heavenly light.
Katie shoots awake, her body enveloped in a cold sweat, but the only thing she feels is a warmth in her heart and soul.
That lady, who was she?, Katie wonders. She was so beautiful, like a goddess.
But more importantly, for some reason she can feel that she knows how to do things.
Things she didn’t know how to do before this dream.
Was it more than just a dream?
Katie gets up out of bed and takes a look in the mirror. She reaches towards her horn and caressing it gently.
“Here goes nothing…” She mutters, and focuses hard.
She starts to feel a shift in her body, like it’s rearranging itself. It doesn’t hurt, and she just keeps focusing.
She has a strange feeling that she had finished doing what she tried to do, and peeks slowly in the mirror.
Looking at her reflection, she gasps loudly, but it comes out a honking sound.
There, in the mirror, isn’t a ginger girl in a gown. It’s a bunny. Its fur is light orange, and its eyes are a deep blue.
Katie tries to speak, but the only noises are squeaks. She twitches her nose excitedly.
Just then, a worker appears at the front of her cell. Katie spins around, and when being seen in this form, squeaks joyfully.
She focuses hard once more, and shifts back to her human form.
”What was that? What are you doing?” The worker demands in a rushed voice. Katie, examining her now-human hands looks up surprised.
”I just figured out how to do this…the…I had a dream…” Katie stuttered, suddenly feeling a sense of fear at the guards reaction.
The cell door opens up, and the guard grabs Katie’s wrist tightly.
”Ow! Ow you’re hurting me!” Katie cries, trying to push the guards hand off of her.
The guard begins to drag her down the hallway, speaking into a walkie talkie on the way.
”Let go of me!” She screams loudly, and the guard immediately releases her, the movement so sudden it caused her to fall back.
Katie, surprised that actually got him to let go, looks at the guard who is now looking around confused.
He then radios for backup, which makes Katie’s hairs stand up in fear.
”No no! I’ll follow you it’s okay! I don’t need extra people I’ll go!” Katie starts to plead, knowing from Don’s troubled past how that ends.
Still, Katie starts to hear rushed footsteps of other workers and begins to panic.
In her panic, she starts to ramble,
”No no! Call them away I’m fine! I’m listening see??” She begs as she stands up quickly.
The guard, again, makes an immediate move for his radio and calls away the reinforcement.
Katie’s eyes widen at this, and she can’t help but wonder if she did that.
Her curiosity getting the better of her, she starts making stupid commands.
”Lift your arm up…? Nod your head. Jump up and down.”
With each command came the same movement, and the movements were almost controlled and precise, but emotionless like a puppet.
Katie starts to feel excitement, knowing this must be another one of her new powers the heavenly lady spoke of.
”Take me to the playroom with my brothers!” She orders enthusiastically, raising herself up and down on her feet with exhilaration at her new ability.
The guard does as asked and brings Katie to the playroom, and shortly after brings her two brothers, who come in looking confused.
”Katie? Do ya know why they’re bringing us here? It’s not play day.” Don inquires, looking around suspiciously.
“Is this a reward or something? I mean, what did we do?” Ash also asks cautiously.
”No, I made them! Look, look!” Katie explains joyfully, turning to the guard who brought them here.
”Hey you! Lift your arms up and dance!”
With the command, the guard does exactly that, much to the shock of the black haired boys.
”What the hell…” Don mutters, his eyebrow raised.
”Katie, what did you do..?” Ash asks, his voice still filled with caution, looking at Katie with this look in his eye, like they were screwed.
”Don’t worry Ash! He’ll do whatever I tell him to! I can alsooo do this!” Katie exclaims, and with a little focus shifts into a little ginger puppy.
”What the hell!?” Don yells, his arms clutching his head.
Shifting back, Katie jumps around excitedly.
”Isn’t it so cool! I got this dream from this really pretty lady that glowed, and suddenly I could do all this!” She cried, clapping her hands together, thrilled at her new cool abilities.
But that thrill only lasted so long, because no less than a dozen guards suddenly burst into the room, followed by Cucurucho.
Ash froze with terror, and Don quickly pulled him beside himself. He tried to make a grab for Katie as well, but she dodged, brushing him off.
”Don’t worry, I’ll just order them away! Hey you guys, go away!” She declared confidently, but none made a move to leave.
Confused, Katie looked at them and noticed they all had earplugs in. Thats when she started to back away, turning to hide behind Don with Ash.
One guard was faster than that though, and ripped Katie away by her hair as she squealed in pain.
”Get the fuck off her jackass!” Don yelled and tried to pull him off, but 3 guards came and pinned Don to the ground.
Ash, terrified at this scene and the white figure in the room, backed away to the corner. Cucurucho made no order to seize him and just ignored him, like he knew Ash wouldn’t do anything.
As Don cursed and threatened the guards, Cucurucho walked up calmly to the girl thrashing around, trying desperately to escape the guards hold on her.
”This is what happens when you disobey me.” He spoke menacingly, and at that the guard twisted her arm behind her with his other hand.
As Katie shrieked, another guard came up to her, and took her horn in his hand.
Katie used her last remaining hand and clawed at the guards wrist, desperately panicking to get his grip off of her precious horn as Don’s cursed yells rang in the background.
”No no no I’m sorry please I’m sorry I won’t-“ Katie began to plead, but those pleas immediately got replaced with screaming.
With a strong grip, the guard began to bend the horn downwards, the horn cracking and ripping until suddenly,
SNAP.
Katie’s blood-curdling scream echoed on the walls and rang in the ears of the people present.
She feel to her knees as the guards released her, and she clutched her forehead as the 3 bears stood over her menacingly.
Blood began to flow out the wood immediately, clouding her vision with a deep red and staining her face, hands, and gown.
Don started to yell even louder, furiously cursing every person in that room.
”YOU FUCKING BASTARDS! I’LL FUCKING KILL YOU ALL!!”
Katie could hear nothing except her own screams, grasping at her missing horn like if she kept trying it would be there.
Blood began to stain the linoleum floors and Katie started to feel woozy, her pain making her start to lose consciousness.
Feeling like that would take too long, one of the guards grabbed Katie’s arm and stuck a needle full of anesthetics in her vein that made her fall limp onto the floor. Blood pooled around her head at the guards turned to Cucurucho, waiting for his instruction.
Before giving any orders, he turned to the two brothers; one being held to the ground and screaming his lungs out, and one too terrified to move from the corner, clutching his head.
“Let this be a lesson to the both of you. No matter what your little abilities might be, you will never be strong enough.” With that, Cucurucho nodded to the guards and they dragged Katie’s limp body away, leaving a trail of her wet blood all over the floor and her two brothers in tears.
