Chapter Text
Rosalie and Emmett Cullen had been on their way back from another honeymoon when they smelled the blood. The airport was practically empty, so it was easy for them to follow the scent. They listened to the attack, flashes of her human life flashing through Rosalie's mind. They ran down the stairs and got to the scene just in time to see the two vampires feasting on the girl.
The sound of the door opening made them both turn, and they wasted no time attacking. Chasing the nomads off would do nothing. They had to kill them.
Emmett grabbed the blonde man, while Rosalie took on the woman. "Get your own food," the woman growled out.
"Eat somewhere else." Rosalie punched the woman to the floor and tore off one of her arms. The woman screeched and writhed in pain, and Rosalie turned to help Emmett. Emmett had the man in a headlock while the man was pushing Emmett's head upward. The piercing, tearing sound of Emmett's neck kicked Rose into action. She ripped off the man's legs and threw them to the other side of the room. He loosened his grip on Emmett enough for her husband to rip the man's head off. It rolled towards the woman, who let out a deafening scream. Her red eyes filled with tears that would never fall before she flew out the window. Emmett turned to run after her, but Rosalie grabbed him.
"We need to take care of this first. I don't want this one coming back. She wasn't that great of a fighter, so if she comes back later, it won't be difficult to dispose of her in the same way." He nodded and began ripping the floorboards out. The vampire would burn.
While Emmett started the fire, Rosalie turned to the human. Twin bite marks were on either side of her neck, leaking blood and vampire venom. Her body writhed in pain, her mouth open in a silent scream, but Rose could already see the bite wounds hardening.
The girl would turn.
The flick of a lighter sounded through the room, and Rose helped Emmett toss the body parts into the flames. The fire grew bigger and bigger, swallowing up the vampire and torching the ceiling. When they were sure the vampire was nothing more than dust, they turned towards the girl, who had finally fallen unconscious.
She looks so young, Rose thought. Leather bracelets were on both of her bloody wrists, and the headband she had been wearing was on the ground next to her head, covered in blood. She couldn't have been more than 17, with her whole life ahead of her. What a shame, what a waste.
Emmett picked her up as gently as he could, eyeing her broken leg and the blood on the floor warily. Rose could see his eyes darkening, and nudged his shoulder with her own.
"We have to get her to Carlisle; he'll know how to help."
Emmett nodded, and they took off out the open window. Behind them, the fire blazed on, enveloping the whole room.
The humans would say there was an electrical fire, but the blood on the stairs and the floor would alert the local police to something much darker. With no body and no cameras, it was likely the investigation would go nowhere.
The red-haired woman lingered a safe distance away, clutching her recovering arm and watching her mate's body burn, vowing that one day soon, his killers would perish the same way.
