Chapter Text
The Trio–unable to settle down–spent the night cleaning up, moving stuff, and making decisions. They settled into the furniture they either bought or were given for free by the building owner, who didn’t want the hassle of moving and selling the furniture left behind by the previous tenant. All three opted to stay at the Agency instead of going back to their houses for trivial yet significant reasons. Saheon took the couch, Soleum curled up on the beanbag he won at a merch contest, and Youngeun nodded off on the large armchair left behind by the previous tenant.
It was around ten in the morning when Saheon began to stir, the sunlight poking through the curtains had lightened up the room, which looked more welcoming since they had tidied up quite a bit. He lightly stretched his limbs before getting up. As his eyes adjusted, he smirked at the sight of his friend sprawled across the armchair she had deemed comfortable enough to now be drooling on.
And as for his other friend…
His gaze turned towards the fluffy blue beanbag Kim Soleum considered treasure, which he wasn’t dozing away on like usual.
“Wow, I never thought our night owl Saheon would wake up before Youngeun.” The person in question greeted him with a subtle grin while holding a bag filled with food and moved towards the makeshift kitchenette they had arranged last night.
“And I never thought you’d part with that precious beanbag of yours.” Saheon returned. He glanced at Youngeun-now frowning in her sleep- before walking over to Soleum, who was more often than not a safety hazard when it came to cooking.
He stared at Soleum, who was focused on peeling the apples he had just bought, for a moment. There wasn’t any tension in his shoulders, and his movements were relaxed. A good sign. His friend’s earlier apprehension of the space had subsided. The creases of Baek Saheon’s eyes softened slightly before he opened his mouth.
“You washed your hands, right?”
Soleum’s eyes blinked in surprise… and then realization.
He met Saheon’s eye-roll with a sheepish smile.

‘Crunch!’ Go Youngeun helped herself to the largest slice in the bowl.
Normally, she would have been running around on an empty stomach during her hospital shift to assist in surgeries, check on patients, and cram for the medical license exam. But here she was, lazing about on a surprisingly comfy armchair and staring at the sky beyond their balcony. The experience was a bliss that felt alien to her— for once, her face was devoid of a forced smile and/or a furrowed brow. Her current mental state reminded her of Baek Saheon’s unbothered demeanor the other day. If he hadn’t proof-read the leasing contract as she and Kim Soleum stood stupefied from their visit to the bank, she knew all this wouldn’t be possible.
At that thought, she grinned fondly at Saheon, who raised an eyebrow at her before scoffing and looking at the curtain she had expertly positioned to hide the view of a certain area while the other two were making something that could be passed off as breakfast.
“Excuse me? Is anyone there?” A somewhat husky voice echoed right outside the door.
Youngeun took one look at the door, then she looked at the state of their 'office', and finally her eyes landed on the only one of them currently standing.
Soleum moved towards the door, and opened it partially to get a look at the unexpected caller. While he was busy exchanging pleasantries and figuring out what that person wanted, Youngeun and Saheon had finished processing what was going on and were quietly rushing to clean up.
“Ahh so you heard about us from the building owner!” They had recognized Soleum’s business-voice immediately. To be more specific, they recognized the dramatic difference between the voice their friend used with them and the one he was using right now.
“Are we open right now ? Well… please give me a moment!” And he closed the door.
Saheon threw a towel and a less wrinkly shirt at him, making the message very clear.
The situation was less than ideal but they did their best to tidy up and at the very least, look like reliable professionals.
When Kim Soleum opened the door, their unexpected client seemed a bit surprised. Maybe it was because Youngeun was in her scrubs(having carried no other clothing after her regular clothes got dusty from cleaning), or because of Saheon’s currently untamable bed head, or because of Soleum’s fogged up glasses(he had cleaned them hastily).
“Would you like some water ?” Youngeun politely started the first of many similar conversations that office would witness.
