Chapter Text
“Katsuki, is that you, son?” Izuku and Katsuki hear a voice ring out as they step into the main residence. Katsuki gives Izuku’s hand a gentle squeeze.
“Hey, Pa.” A brown head of hair pops out into the hallway. Izuku senses the man as an Omega, his scent is similar to Katsuki’s something warm and inviting, but with an almost acidic, citrus quality to it rather than Katsuki's campfire scent. The man's eyes widened behind his glasses. He fully emerges into the hallway, his pace slow in his confusion. He switches to Civitas in politeness for Izuku’s sake.
“Katsuki, it's so good to see you son. I'm glad you made it home safely…” he pauses and looks over to Izuku. “and it seems you've brought someone.”
Katsuki’s Sire reaches a hand out, Izuku politely shakes it while bowing his head in greeting. “It's a pleasure to meet you Chief Bakugou, my name is Izuku Midoriya. Son of Inko Midoriya, from the Mututafu Region.” Izuku smiles kindly and they detach their hands.
“Ah, Izuku, It's very nice to meet you… and please call me Masaru.” Masaru’s shock deepens, his mouth slightly open in awe.
Katsuki wraps an arm around Izuku, his face lighting up with a proud smirk. “He’s my Chosen.” He states bluntly, his voice seeping with confidence and pride at the declaration.
Masaru’s eyes dart back and forth between them as he processes this. All of the sudden his expression brightens with unbridled joy. He sports a wide smile, and his scent brightens considerably, the acidic citrus turns into a sweet, clean smell. Izuku feels his hind-brain light up in response to Masaru's reaction, his own scent revealing his delight.
“Oh- my, I… I-” Masaru stutters, “Mitsuki, dear!” He shouts, his voice choked from both shock and joy. He turns quickly down the hall and disappears from view, his voice still loud enough for the pair to hear. “Oh Mitsuki, you must come see!”
Izuku hears loud clanging noises and doors slamming open. Izuku looks up to shoot Katsuki a questioning expression. Katsuki just continues to smirk with a shrug. He squeezes Izuku’s shoulder, “My parents are a bit dramatic, ain't they?” Izuku just giggles and leans into Katsuki's side, “You're doing great, he already loves you.”
Before Izuku can open his mouth to protest, there's one more loud bang before a blond woman steps out into the hallway with Masaru following immediately behind her. Her clearly Alphan scent is all sharp spice and heat.
“Katsuki! Is it -?” She looks back and forth incredulously at the two of them, her brows furrowed. Izuku’s smile widens slightly at the sight, she really does look like Katsuki. He has to bite his lip to keep his laugh from getting out.
“Yes.”
Izuku feels Katsuki's hand drift down to the small of his back and his arm wraps around his waist. Mitsuki watches this, her brows relax and a feral smile, similar to a certain other Alpha, spreads across her face. Her eyes sparkle with excitement. Katsuki pats him.
Izuku steps forward with a polite bow. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Chieftess Bakugou. My name is Izuku Midoriya, Son of Inko Midoriya, from the Musutafu Region.” He straightens and smiles softly as her. Her grin widens a fraction more, she steps forwards and grabs his hand in her tight grip.
“Izuku! Pleasure is all mine, call me Mitsuki.” She shoots an impressed look up at Katsuki who puffs out his chest in pride. She turns back to Izuku, “Where did you learn Lycus?”
“Books, I teach myself.” She nods her head in approval.
“Ain’t you a smart boy! What a good Omega, smart, pretty, and polite. And to make it even better you're a Prime, what a great pair.” She reaches up and pats Katsuki on the shoulder. Izuku brightens under her praise, his nerves finally settle fully as he takes in the approval of Katsuki's parents.
“Better not fuck this one up, brat. He's a good one.” She shoots a glare at Katsuki.
Katsuki huffs, “Fuck off, I know.” She smiles up at him, her shoulder shaking from laughter.
“Damn, he's got you wrapped around his finger already. Good for you.” She shoots Izuku a wink, who smiles sheepishly. “So you actually wanna marry this fucker?” She elbows Katsuki in the side who snarls at her.
“Yes, ma'am.” He looks up to see Katsuki smiling fondly at him. He returns the smile and sidles back into place at Katsuki's side. “He might be a little rough around the edges, but he's very good to me. I've grown to really love him.”
Izuku’s head snaps over at the sound of a sniffle, he sees Masaru clutching at Mitsuki's furs as tears streak down his cheeks. Izuku, on instinct, projects his scent, releasing his calming pheromones. Masaru immediately stops crying, his sniffles dying down.
“A-ah sorry, sir! I didn't mean to-” He stops when Masaru raises his hand.
“It's alright, sweetie, really. Thank you. I'm just a little emotional. My Katsuki really is all grown up now.” Izuku glances up at Katsuki, he sees a blush creeping up Katsuki’s neck.
“Embarrassing, old man…”
Mitsuki straightens up, “Oh, Shit! Please, go ahead and take off your shoes. Come in, come in!” She essentially drags the couple into a large room. It's covered in orange and yellow, large tapestries and carpets, even the windows are covered with them, casting a warm orange light that fills the room. Izuku looks around in awe as he's whisked over to a seating area. They sit down, and Katsuki's parents sit across from them. Masaru fusses over the room, double checking it's completely clear of any clutter.
“I bet you guys are tired from your journey, please make yourselves comfortable! I'll go make you some tea, any preferences my dear?” Masaru asks.
Mitsuki shakes her head, “Whatever you'd like is fine. Thank you, Masaru.” She turns to the couple with a small smile. Izuku takes the time to really look at Mitsuki, her son looks so much like her. Izuku finds himself wondering if his own pups will end up looking more like Katsuki because of their strong genes and smiles at the thought.
“So I'm sure you both are relieved to be settled down somewhere after travelling for so long,” Izuku nods politely, “we have a nice place set up not too far from the main residence, but still secluded. There's plenty of space for the both of you if you choose to sleep separately. I don't need to remind you that it's traditional to keep to yourselves until you're married.” She pauses, her grin turning sharper, “but I don't give a shit if you-”
“Okay!” Katsuki growls, “Before you scar Izuku with your utterly vulgar language, we're abstaining until we wed. No more on the subject.” Izuku’s face grows hot at the implication, but he does his best to keep calm appearances. Katsuki stretches his arm across the back of their seats, Izuku leans back to rest against him and does his best to relax.
He feels Mitsuki’s analytic stare, but if she had any comments, she kept them to herself. “Fine, whatever. So any ideas about the wedding, then?” She keeps her attention on Izuku.
He clears his throat, “Katsuki said the wedding will be in the Main square and we’ll be assigned a wedding planner…”
“Mina.” Katsuki grunts, Mitsuki just nods and prompts Izuku to continue.
“How soon can we be married?” He tilts his head to the side in question.
“If we start within the next couple of moons…” She sighs, “12 moons, maybe less if you're wanting to speed up the process.”
Izuku shakes his head, “12 moons is very reasonable.” He turns to look at Katsuki. “What do you think?”
Katsuki brings a hand into Izuku’s hair and pets his curls, “If it's okay with you, it's okay with me.” Izuku smiles at him and leans into his touch. There's a clanging noise that takes their attention as Masaru places the tea tray down and pours a steaming cup for everyone. He glances around the room, his gaze lingers on the couple.
Mitsuki sits up and accepts a cup with a kiss on Masaru’s cheek, “Ah, Masaru, they settled on a date for their wedding. In about a dozen moons.” Izuku takes a cup of tea for himself and hands one to Katsuki. He takes a sip, the calm flavors of lavender and chamomile coat his tongue. He sighs at the familiarity between the tea and the scent of his Dam and relaxes further into Katsuki.
Masaru takes a seat and smiles, “What great news, my Katsuki is getting married!” He looks over at Mitsuki, “Dear, I believe it's custom to throw a banquet.”
Mitsuki takes a sip of her tea before placing it back down, “Yes, of course. If you'd like to start planning that for tomorrow, get started as soon as you get the chance. Shouldn't take long, you know the drill.” Masaru nods, his eyes glimmering with excitement.
Izuku suddenly sits up with the realization, “Katsuki!” He jolts to look over at him, Katsuki raises his eyebrow in question. Izuku turns and places his hands on his shoulders. “Once we're married, we’ll be Chief!”
“That’s right.”
“And that means I'll be responsible for everything your Sire does!” Katsuki hums and just lets him keep talking. Izuku goes on a rambling rant of all the possible responsibilities he’ll have to take over. When he's done he takes a deep breath and looks at Katsuki expectantly.
“So… what you're saying is you'd like to start learning as soon as you can.”
“Yes!”
“While I think that's a great idea, you have a few more important things you need to do before you can shadow my Pa.”
Izuku cocks his head, “What's more important than preparing to become Chief.” He gasps, “In 12 moons!” His heartbeat quickens and his nerves light up.
Katsuki grabs his face and cups him gently in his palms, “You are going to be a great Chief, we are both going to learn together, okay? No need to think you're alone in this. Just breathe.” Izuku takes a deep breath. “Good. We only arrived today, so in the next few moons we will get started with the wedding planning, getting you acquainted with Lycus and properly presented to the Tribe. I'll be here with you the whole time, and when the time is right, my Pa will show you everything you need to know.” Izuku relaxes, his breathing slowed and even as the words register.
Katsuki places a hand in Izuku’s hair and scratches his scalp, “That's it, baby. You're good, we're good. Let's just take everything one step at a time.” Izuku takes a long breath full of Katsuki’s calming pheromones.
Izuku pulls away, Katsuki retracts his hands but keeps one nestled in his curls, a calming, constant presence. He turns back to face Katsuki's parents with a sheepish grin. They're holding hands and looking at each other with knowing smiles.
Masaru is the first to talk, then, “Izuku, you really have no reason to worry about taking over as Chief. I will do my very best to guide you and teach you, and I'll still be here after you're appointed. Just as Mitsuki will do her best with Katsuki.”
Mitsuki nods, “It's great you actually care about the responsibility, you'll do great. I can tell, and I have amazing judgement!” She declared, a wide smirk gracing her face.
“Thank you.”
Mitsuki stands and straightens out her furs, “Alright then, I'm sure you want to check out your new home. Let's make our way over, shall we?”
-
Katsuki pulls Izuku closer by the waist as they gaze at their home. It's a strong hut built from the local trees and stones, ivy grows along the roof, revealing how long the structure has stood. There's a flat stone path that leads up to the wooden door, windows on either side that glow with the warmth of candlelight. There's a well and clothesline just off to the side, behind the house, as well as a modest stable, which Izuku assumed would be for wolves.
“It's beautiful.” Izuku sighs wistfully. Katski squeezes him tighter with a grin plastered on his face.
“And it's ours.” Izuku feels his chest ache from giddiness, his cheeks start to hurt from his wide smile. “Wanna check out the inside?”
He nods and Katsuki's parents open the door and lead them inside. It's even more warm and homey on the inside, there's tapestries and wooden furniture sprawled around. The main space is open with a common room and kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with herbs and wooden cutlery. A hearth is placed right in the kitchen that houses an active fire.
Izuku takes a deep breath as he takes it all in. “And of course there's multiple bedrooms. For now they will keep the purpose of you both having your own space, but later, you can change it into a nursery.” Masaru informs them, he starts walking towards the other end of the house.
Just off the main space there's a short hallway to separate the main space from the bedrooms. There's three doors, all open and easily accessible. The one to the right hosts a stone bath with a hearth suitable for heating up water. On the left is a small bedroom decorated in soft furs, colorful tapestries and dried flower bundles hanging from the wall. “This one would be yours, Izuku. I hope it's suitable for now, you're free to change it up however you'd like.” Masaru gestures for him to step in. Izuku obeys and slowly walks around the room.
His eyes start to sting with emotion, “Thank you. It's perfect…” He shoots grateful glances at them before returning to Katsuki's side. Izuku looks to the last door that's directly in the middle. It's a more sizable room, easily able to fit a small pack. It's less decorated, only a den in the middle with a few tapestries and rugs to keep the room warm from the outside temperatures.
“And this would be Katsuki's, it's meant to be spruced up and changed to accommodate the both of you after your wedding.” Mitsuki glances over at them, “Izuku, you could move your stuff in there when you're ready. It's also suitable to host a pack… for future use.” She explains before her and Masaru turn fully to look at them.
“That's everything!” Masaru clasps his hands together with a pleased grin. “We will have someone fetch Eijirou to bring your things, for now, finish settling in.”
Izuku nods, “Thank you both, truly. This place is starting to feel like home already.” His excited mood quickly turns into something muted and relaxed as he breathes in the mixed scent of his new pack. They're all pleased and peaceful.
Masaru puffs his chest out. “Of course, we're happy you like it. We put a lot of care into getting it perfect for any new mated pair.”
Mitsuki takes a hold of Masaru’s hand, “If there's anything more you find yourselves needing, talk to us. I suggest you start with scenting everything.”
The young couple nod and they all head back to the main room. They say their goodbyes to Katsuki’s parents and take their respective seats next to each other in the main room. Katsuki grunts as he lets his head fall back onto the cushion, his muscles slowly going lax.
Izuku takes the opportunity to straddle his lap and relax against his chest. He closes his eyes with a quiet hum as he listens to Katsuki’s heartbeat.
He feels Katsuki place a rough hand into his hair, his nails scratching softly against his scalp. He leans into it with a sigh, his lips quirk into a grin as he blinks his eyes back open. “What do you think of our home, Katsuki?”
Katsuki adjusts them slightly so he can sit up more, his eyes are soft and warm with affection, all directed at Izuku. “It's perfect.” A lazy smile is plastered on his face, making Izuku’s heart skip a beat. “I can't wait 'til we have all our stuff and can finally sleep properly. My back has been killing me from sleeping in a tent…” He groans.
Izuku hums knowingly, “Me too, I can finally build a real nest.” He yawns and pulls Katsuki closer, “Scent me, please.”
Katsuki chuckles softly, lifting his head, and angling them so they can nuzzle against each other. Izuku tucks his neck against the other and instantly relaxes fully into the gesture. Their scents mingle together and grows heavy in the main room, the atmosphere growing warmer and more content as they stay pressed against each other.
They stay like that for a few moments, letting their scents carry throughout the house. “Now this is really our home.” Izuku sighs. “Can we take a nap?” He opens his eyes, not realizing he'd closed them, and pulls away to look at Katsuki. Katsuki moves his hands to situate them atop Izuku’s hips and rubs soothing circles into his skin with his thumbs.
“Sure, baby. Is right here okay with you? Ei will probably be on his way to bring your nesting furs later.”
Izuku flips back down against Katsuki. “M’kay.” He grumbles softly. His eyes immediately grow heavy with sleep, which he welcomes and easily slips into. He faintly feels Katsuki shuffling them around until they're lying flat against the bottom cushions of their couch.. Izuku is draped fully on Katsuki's front. Izuku feels a soft kiss pressed to his cheek before he succumbs to sleep.
