Kagome looked up at the dark sky, her blurry vision barely able to make out the stars. The ground under her was cold, sapping her strength and chilling her to the bone. Small flurries of snow fluttered towards her, melting when they landed on her chilling blood. She tilted her head, barely having the energy to move from her position on the ground. Her breath faltered, her lungs filling with liquid even as she willed the last of her energy towards her barrier, keeping her little Shippo safe. That was all she had ever wanted.
