Light then brought the sizable bite of cake to his mouth, his eyes never leaving L’s as he opens his mouth and takes the bite. L watched him, enraptured- only Light could make something as simple as eating look elegant. He watched as Light’s jaw moved rhythmically before his eyes were drawn down to his long, pretty throat as he swallowed.
Once he was done swallowing, Light smiled. His expression was smug and taunting, but the effect was less impactful with the slight blush tinging his cheeks. “There. Are you happy now, you absolute nightmare?”

Despite being shocked at first, he quickly decides L must have defied death out of pettiness just so he could come back to annoy him.Now knowing how to send him back, all he can do is to try to keep his composure around L who is having a little too much fun with his suffering.
Dealing with L is harder than manipulating the entire world. Light missed him so much.
