Summary
The Psiioniic awakens in the Ship, briefly taunted by his broken thinkpan dreaming of a new world he could live in, the happiness he could never really have because this - this ship, owned by the Condesce, a mere battery - is his eternity now. Every dream hurts worse than the last, every hope he tries to banish but won't leave hangs over his head, and it's too much for him to bear. He screams with no one listening and wishes it could all just end.
And then he awakens in his bed in his new hive with the Signless, still screaming.
Or: Psiioniic tried to move on and forget his pain when he awoke to a new life on Earth C. He tried not to confront it, to live his new life without taking on all that pain. But some scars can't heal in a day, and some memories won't recede from focus so quickly, no matter how hard he tries.

Summary
Almost everyone has at least one timer on their wrist or arm counting down to the moment when they'll meet their soulmate. Psiioniic has precisely one, as is relatively common - but there's something strange about it, something that seems to be entirely unique to him. His timer is billions and billions of sweeps long, far longer than any troll could ever live. It's frustrating, it's upsetting, and it makes no fucking sense. He lives long, longer than he should, even finding others in his position, but still - there's nothing.
However, a new life on Earth C seems to promise him and his loved ones a second chance.

The Psiioniic knows that his soulmate's voice in his head is that of a seadweller, and becomes increasingly worried that he'll never meet her. On the Condesce's ship, he truly believes that he was right about that, that there's no hope remaining for finding the troll he's meant to meet - but a new life on Earth C offers a second chance and a joyous first meeting.
