Work Text:
Jungkook sighed in relief as he walked into the college’s café. The cold air felt nice since the weather outside turned unexpectedly hot. He got into line and zoned out thinking about finals and what he wanted to do with the rest of the day.
"Okay Taehyung, see you later!"
Jungkook felt his body freeze up. He knew that voice; the adorable calico hybrid from his literature class.
"Shit" he whispered under his breath. If he wasn't sweating before, he really was now. He never knew how to talk to the older boy. He was so cute he reduced Jungkook to a stuttering mess.
He had the biggest crush on the shorter male and he didn't know how to handle it. He always ended up embarrassing himself. So he decided to just face towards the counter as he felt his skin prickle with heat.
He could do this.
"Hello, Id like an iced green tea please. And could I also pay for the person behind me?" He asked the barista quietly. She gave him a smile as he handed over the extra cash. He walked aside and waited for his drink.
"Jungkookie?"
He looked over to see Jimin standing beside him. His ears were turned down slightly, tail curled by his knee, and a blushed stained his cheeks. Jungkook wanted to cry.
"Yes. Uh yeah?"
"I wanted to say thank you for paying. You didn't have to. That was very sweet."
"It's no problem. I wanted to. For you."
"For me specifically ?" Jimins cheeks darkened.
"Yeah."
"Well then. Can I repay the favor? How about joining me for takeout later?"
"I'd like you. I mean-I'd like TO. Yes I'd like to have takeout with you."
Yeah he was going to cry any minute.
"Okay. It's a date then." Jimin gave a blinding smile as he grabbed his drink and left his phone number.
Jungkook picked up his forgotten drink and walked out as well. After all, he had a date to prepare for.
