Chapter Text
Momo didn’t like the summer. Setsuna knew that she struggled with the heat and the humidity, that the intensity of the sun was hard on her whenever she went on day patrols. No matter how much sunblock she used, it never seemed to stick for long after she started fighting, she said. That was why she always came back pink and sore, with shopping bags full of more ice cream than could fit in their freezer.
It wasn’t something that she ever complained about, but Setsuna knew how she disliked the summer by the way she’d start watching weather reports and stare at thermometers mid-May, brow furrowed and bottom lip threatening a pout.
And Setsuna wanted to hate it in solidarity, but some of her favorite moments were in the dog days of August, when it got too hot and the air conditioner wasn’t enough. If they were in different rooms, Momo would search her out, wrap her arms around her and sigh as she pressed their cheeks together.
“You’re so cool,” she’d say, like Setsuna was the only thing in the world giving her life, and it was hard for Setsuna to hate a season that let her experience that.
Plus, winter sucked way worse.
