Work Text:
“Sebastian?“
You were on your way to the kitchen to find something to let you sleep. And just when you’re alone, the butler, still wide awake, was cleaning the room. “Ah, are you getting something?“
“Kinda. Thought I could drink something so I could sleep.“ You said, as you went over to the pantry, in which you couldn’t find anything that could lullaby you. You heaved out a sigh.
“Hmm...“ You heard a hum near the sink, which you turned to see Sebastian was flipping through his notebook. Ah yes, his secret notebook for all of his historian secrets kept in place. No one knows except you but you still wonder what he had written inside that book.
“Say, Sebastian. I still wonder what you wrote in that book.“
“Ah, you already knew that the contents are just the resident’s unknown secrets we haven’t seen or known.“
“Yeah, but, is that all? Like is there anything about me though?“
Your curiosity had led to the point you blurt out the words openly. Uh oh. “B-But it’s okay if you don’t have any! That’s a bit too sudden of me to ask that.“
The butler glanced to his book and to you, his expression unchanged. “Well, I do have written something about you. I suppose I could tell you some of them. That is, if you’re still curious.“
Well, there you go! He did wrote something about you! But the question is, are you still curious what the content are about you? “You know what, why not. I can’t sleep anyway so let’s just say this is some bedtime story.“ You thought to yourself while nodded to Sebastian’s offer.
The two of you sat beside each other in the quiet dining room as Sebastian started flipping through the book. “Let’s see. Ah, this was the time you came to this timeline.“
“Oh? What does it say?“ You excitedly waited for the impression.
“Sluggish and panicky.“
“HEY!!“ Well, it is to be expected, since it was your first time travel experience to the historian times. You slumped down on your chair with pouty cheeks.
He flipped through another entry. “Ah, this was from when you started working on the house chores.“ You glanced your eyes to his eyes. “Her work was quite slow, as expecting for someone who never did chores in her life-.“
“Sebastian-!!“ You cut in between his words, but he continued on.
“But the determination in her eyes was admirable, and I adore those who keep that spirit inside them.“
“Oh.”
The words coming from his mouth surprised you. You were stunned by how he expressed his emotions in the written words inside his notes, Well, cookie points for you! During the whole read through, most of his entries about you were ups and downs, but the end results with those small hinting appreciations really did lightened you up. You felt appreciated from your efforts by someone close!
Not sure how long the two of you stayed up, your eyelids started to feel heavy and your entire body felt tired. Sebastian must had taken the hint from the behavior, so he decided to end the reading session for today. “No, wait. Not yet. I’m not that sleepy yet.“
“Well, your eyes tell me it won’t be long.“
“Awww. But I still want to hear more about your impression of me. Just one! One last entry and I’ll head to bed.“
He sighed in defeat and flipped through the pages from the last entry. He really couldn’t say no to you, for a stubborn person that is. Your eyelids started to close, but you tried to resist it as you lied your head on the dining table. “Ah. The entry from earlier this morning. You were having a light gaming session with Sir Isaac and Sir Arthur. The look of determination in your eyes relieved me to see you are enjoying your stay here.“ A grin formed on your lips, recalling the moment as you listened intently in a sleepy state.
“Your emotions were spontaneous, it was everywhere and expressive. But I adore it. I find you adoring with that side of yours.“
Adoring? He adored your spontaneous side? That’s a cute way to say. “Awww, you sounded like you already fall for me. That’s... a cute way... to say...“ As you said the words, you slowly drifted to sleep, your breathing softly resonated to Sebastian’s ears.
“Fall for you... Heh, I guess you could say, more than that.“ The words couldn’t be heard, as he watched you sleep soundly with a soft expression.
