‘I pray that in your next life you will suffer the same pain that you yourself caused me’
‘why?’
‘…’
‘why did you do this to me?’
“I thought…”
“ I thought you said you love me ”
The words were nothing but a whisper on his lips as he fell back, losing his footing as the hands that had pushed him pulled back.
His eyes landed on the face of the one who would send him to his death, the one who he loved, who was supposed to love him
It took until he began descending at a rapid pace that he was starting to panic, eyes going wide and beginnings of a scream forming at the back of his throat knowing he was falling to his death.
‘WHY?! YOU SAID YOU LOVE ME’
“HEY”
His eyes flew open, in a panic he attempted to rise only to collapse under his own weight.
“Woah hey hold on, breath.”
His quickened breath slows as the stranger puts his hand on his chest in a comforting manner.
“Just breath”
“I’m okay, I’m okay.”
He with more care this time lifted himself up supporting his body with his elbows.
“What happened to me?”
“I don’t know, I just found you here.”
Pushing himself off his elbows into a sitting position his eyes landed on the large sea before him, bringing his attention to the sand below him.
“Umm...”
His head snapped up, seemingly reminded that he wasn’t alone, the boy next to him had hair a light shade of blue, eyes the same colour but of a darker shade and an easy, calm smile.
“What’s your name?”
“…”
“I- I don’t know…”
The boy’s smile quickly fell into a frown, his eyes taking on a shade of worry.
“Umm, well-”
“Chongyun”
“-what?”
“You can call me Chongyun” the boy of blue turned his own face towards the sea.
“I’ll help you remember.”
Bringing his arms to hug his knees he hid a small smile, within his waking moments he had felt lost without knowing who he was but now something about this other boy made him feel safe, as if he could trust his words.
He woke to the chirping of birds, his body held within the arms of his lover, their shared room was enveloped with shadows with little light filtering through the thin fabrics they’d hung up as curtains.
In that state surrounded by warmth and familiarity he felt a sense of security he hadn’t felt since he had woken up before.
Not wanting to disturb the other boy he closed his eyes and settled once again drifting off to dreams of his past life which he would not remember when he woke again.
“Why’d you bring me out here?” It was a simple question.
It had been months since Chongyun had found him on the beach alone and lost, ever since then they’d done everything together.
He’d learned that Chongyun lived alone in the mountains behind the beach and that he would go down to the sea for short walks where he’d found him.
Chongyun loved the cold but couldn’t stand heat, he was always so stoned face but was actually quite a dork.
After some time he realized..
That he had fallen in love.
“I wanted to tell you something.”
Chongyun looked away facing the sea, they were both standing on a high cliff with nothing but jagged rocks and the ocean underneath them.
Turning back towards him he could see that the other boy had acquired a flustered demeanour and was avoiding looking at him.
“I- I love you.”
It was almost a whisper coming out of his mouth but he didn’t care within moments of the others confession he’d flung his arms around the other boy in a tight embrace.
“I love you too.” He’d said with a smile on his face into the ear of his saviour, now his lover.
“I’m glad”
‘Where are you?’
‘Where are you!?’
‘WHERE ARE YOU’
He ran and ran and ran, running all over the beach, up the sides of the mountains, flying across the cliffs.
Looking for the one he loved, lost, wandering. In the raging storm, where lightning struck the ground and thunder shook the clouds he continued to call the name of the boy he loved .
“Guess who~”
With a soft giggle he brought his hands up to cover the ones that had covered his sight.
“Hmm… who could it be?” He couldn’t help but slip in a bit of a mischievous tone into his words.
Hastily he felt the hands covering his eyes quickly retreat, in a cautious and stern voice the boy behind him asked, “What are you planning.”
Looking behind him into the wary eyes of the other boy he couldn’t help but let out a laugh, “Y’know I’m not always planning something” he couldn’t help the small chuckles that still continued to flow with his breath.
Chongyun now visibly more calm but still watching him for any sudden moves.
“You’re always planning something.”
Leaning in close to his lover he let out a small whisper.
“What can I say, your just fun to mess with”
Leaning back he broke into laughter at the quickly flustered face of Chongyun who’s face had gotten red so quickly as if he’d taken a bite of something spicy.
He continued to let out peals of laughter as the other boy attempted to protect his dignity , stuttering his words making his face even more flushed.
In his mind he could only think, hope, that this life, this happiness would last forever.
“I-I found you”
He’d ran all over the terrain looking for the other boy, now out of breath and fatigued he could hardly see the others blue eyes through the torrent of train that fell around them.
“You found me.”
Chongyun looked blank when he’d said so, standing on the edge his face was wiped of emotion, staring blankly into his eyes.
Something was wrong. He knew that but he couldn’t help it, seeing the other boy after he’d searched everywhere for him. He ran straight towards the other boy, running into his arms where he was wrapped in a hug.
“I was so worried”
“I know, I’m sorry”
“It’s okay, it’s okay. You’re safe.”
At this point he was only reassuring himself.
He was moving, he didn’t know how but, he’d moved. Now with his back to the edge, everything that happened next seemed to be a dream.
“I love you, you know that right.” He seemed scared when asking so.
“Of course, yes. I love you.”
Letting out a breath of relief, “That's good, I’m glad.”
Everything that happened next seemed to happen in slow motion.
He felt the arms wrapping themselves around him in a comforting embrace retract, with his hands now on his shoulders he couldn’t even react to the change as he felt himself be pushed away.
Hands that slowly left his shoulders, as he fell back. Trying to find his footing in open air, he was falling.
He was falling.
Falling.
Falling down.
He could only stare, scream . As he stared into the blue, blue eyes of his lover, his murderer .
He could only hear his last words.
‘I love you’
Lies
LIES
HE WAS A LIAR
He could only let out a wordless scream, filled with rage, sadness, the betrayal from the one he loved, cursing his name and every emotion he’d ever wasted
- felt -
for
him.
He could only stare into the eyes of the other boy that he once loved as he fell to his death.
“I’ll always love you…”
“...”
‘Xingqiu’
