Boyfriend (don't wanna be your secret anymore)

Summary:

They'd been fighting again. Hope and Landon. She was sure of it. Her eyes had been puffy, her nose red when she knocked on Josie's door an hour ago. She had wasted no time jumping into the brunette's arms, wasted no time peppering kisses all the way down her neck, all the way down to her chest. That only ever happened when she'd been fighting with Landon. It had been like that for a few months now.

Notes:

Hey guys!
This fanfiction starts out with sex and includes cheating, so if that's not your thing, I totally get that and I just wanted to warn you before hand!
But basically this is a hosie college au inspired by the song Boyfriend by Tegan and Sara
I hope you all enjoy it!

Chapter 1: You treat me like your boyfriend

Chapter Text

"Oh, fuck!" Hope yelped loudly, her eyes falling to the face between her thighs. With one hand against the wall for support, she continued to grind down against the tongue forcing itself inside of her, tasting her greedily. A shiver ran up her spine as she felt the tongue retract, only for a pair of full pouty lips to wrap around her clit, sucking it in gently.

“Fuck Josie, it feels...fuck, it feels so good!” She couldn’t help herself, her free hand sliding down across the other girl’s scalp, fingers tangling into the lightly curled brown locks. Her hips bucked downwards, more desperate with each shaky movement.

A hum caressed the back of Josie’s throat. Her hands quickly found their way to Hope’s ass, her nails digging into her soft skin ever so slightly, careful not to leave lasting marks, as she attempted to support the frantic thrusts the girl was directing at her face.

The urge to just dig her nails into Hope's soft flesh was burning under the skin of her fingertips. She felt her nerves tingle at the contact, craving to scratch red marks all over Hope's pale skin. But she couldn't. She knew she couldn't. Hope wasn't hers to mark.

Before she could dwell too much on the thought, she felt Hope's thighs quiver and jerk besides her as the hand tangled in her hair tightened its grip. Her lips parted in anticipation, tongue slowly stretching out and running along her slit. God the taste was heavenly, and it didn't help that at the exact moment her tongue made its way back to the older girl's clit, a shock tingled along Hope's spine, causing her back to arch and a deep, guttural uttering of Josie's name to escape through her lips.

Small jolts shot through Hope's thighs as she began to slow down her motions until she was completely still, a satisfied sigh escaping her.

Her hand slowly released the brown strands she’d so desperately clung to moments ago. Finally rid of the twitching, Hope pushed back against the wall, and slowly lifted herself off of the brunette’s face. A small gasp left her as she looked down at the breathless expression her lover was sporting. Skin flushed, lips red and sticky.

Josie gasped in small breaths, trying to catch her breath as Hope came to lay next to her. The short girl let her arm wrap around Josie's waist, pressing her lips to the brunette's jaw. They were soft and damp and ever so hungry as they grazed over the soft curves of Josie’s jaw and down over her neck, all the way to her collarbone. She felt Hope’s leg wrap around her own gently, her tongue running slowly along her collarbone.

“Hope…” Josie’s voice was soft, whimpering slightly. Her body turned towards the other girl, arms wrapping around her shoulders loosely. Her legs squirmed, attempting to close despite Hope’s leg wedged between them.

“Mmmmmhhhmmmm?” Hope hummed in return, lips parting slowly as she sucked in Josie’s soft, tan skin. Josie’s breath hitched and her grip on Hope tightened. She felt her skin go between her lover’s teeth, as she sucked on it eagerly. It wasn’t long before Hope had left a dark red mark just above Josie’s left collarbone. She pressed a soft kiss to the flushed skin, running her tongue over it briefly to make Josie shutter. It worked.

“Mmmm, looks good.” Hope whispered softly. Her nose ghosted over Josie’s skin, all the way up to her ear. “Where should I leave the next one?” Her voice is low and sultry. Josie felt her earlobe get sucked in, Hope gently nibbling on it as she waited for a response. Her hand hovered over Josie’s hip, moving to rest on the lower part of her stomach as she began to rub slow, gentle circles into her soft skin with her thumb. It made the pit of Josie’s stomach ache with want, with need. Her heart thumped heavily in her chest, threatening to rip open her ribcage and expose all of her feelings to the beautiful girl with the auburn hair by her side.

Josie bit her lip hard. It wasn’t that she didn’t want Hope to mark her further, oh no not at all. She craved it. She craved more than anything to be covered in bites and marks and bruises, but more than that, she craved covering Hope in the same way. She craved seeing her pale skin bruise for her, leaving hickeys up and down her neck, her shoulders, her thighs. But she couldn't.

It first happened after one of their college parties. Technically her and Lizzie weren't supposed to be there, it was supposed to be exclusively third year students, but as it turned out, being childhood friends with Hope Mikaelson had its perks. She hadn't really been planning on going to the party until Lizzie made it her life's mission (or more like her half a week long mission) to get her to go so she could bring the twins despite them only being in second year. It hadn't been working too well for Lizzie to begin with, but as soon as Landon heard she was trying to get Hope to go to the party, he'd instantly chimed in, supporting this idea. And so Hope eventually gave in, and the four of them had gone to the party.

Not that Josie had been particularly eager to go, but Hope would be there so it couldn't be too bad. Of course had she known what was going to happen, she wouldn't have hesitated for even a second. She probably should have, but there's no way she would have.

The party had not been going as expected. Lizzie had ditched Josie the second they got there to go flirt with someone cute on the dancefloor and Hope was spending all her time with Landon, leaving Josie on a couch by herself with a drink to nurse. She'd managed to get quite drunk despite her slow alcohol intake. This was only her third drink. A few people had tried to sit down and engage her in some small talk or attempted to get her out on the dancefloor, but it didn’t work. Josie stayed in her spot on the couch, drink in hand, eyes locked onto Hope and Landon laughing and dancing. Feeling her heart break a little more with every touch, every shared look.

At some point she finally forced herself to look away. She wasn’t sure how long she’d been looking away for, but when she turned back to look at the happy couple, they weren’t there anymore. Dread pooled at the pit of her stomach. She didn’t like the implication of that, there was only one reason why a tipsy couple would disappear in the middle of a college party. She looked around frantically, trying to see if they’d just moved to a different part of the dancefloor, but they were nowhere to be seen.

Josie suddenly felt very sick. She quickly stood up, heading to the kitchen. She poured the rest of her drink in the sink before filling the cup to the brim with water. She downed it quickly, trying to keep her eyes from tearing up.

She needed to get out of there. She needed to be as far away from that party. She needed to find Lizzie.

Her sister was still on the dancefloor last time she checked. It was going to be hard to convince her twin to leave the party, especially since Josie had seen her dancing with someone. Hopefully she would listen.

As it turned out, she hadn’t needed to worry about that. As she approached the dancefloor, eyes fixed on her sister, she completely missed the person stepping in front of her. She collided into the form, stumbling back a little before catching herself. The other person  hadn’t been so lucky and Josie snapped out of her thoughts, looking down at the person in front of her.

“Maya! I’m so sorry, here let me help you.” Josie reached out, helping the other girl get back on her feet. She was met with a light chuckle. “You sure seemed to be in a hurry, do you need to leave? I was coming out here to ask you to dance, so I hope not.”

Josie blinked a bit, only now focusing all her attention on the dark haired girl. “Wha- dance with me?” She bit her lip, looking over Maya’s shoulder to get a look at her sister still very much preoccupied with her own dance partner. She mulled it over for a brief moment before giving the other a half hearted smile and a small nod. “Yeah okay, a bit of dancing can’t hurt.”
Maya beamed and nodded, moving in a little closer to Josie before grabbing her hands and pulling her to the middle of the dancefloor. Maybe this could distract her from thinking about what Hope was most likely doing at the same moment, with Landon.

Maya looked effortlessly confident in her dancing, a quality Josie wished she shared with her. Her own moves felt clumsy to her, stiff. It was hard for her to relax.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Maya gently took Josie's hand in hers, pulling her just a little closer as she slowed down. It took Josie by surprise and she swallowed hard, unsure of how to react. Her mouth opened, a small choked sound escaping her as she tried to respond. Maya raised her eyebrow a little, but didn’t get to say anything before a voice sounded behind Josie.

“Jo?”

Josie tensed up, practically jumping away from Maya as she turned to look at Hope, chuckling awkwardly. Her laughter quickly got stuck in her throat when she realized Hope had been crying. Hope bit her lip, rubbing her hands together uncomfortably. “Do you think we could talk?”

Josie looked at her friend a bit before turning her head to Maya. “Rain check?”

Maya forced a smile, nodding. “Of course.” She replied before making her way off of the dancefloor. Josie sighed before turning back to Hope. “Let’s go somewhere a little more private.”

They had ended up in a bedroom on the first floor. Sitting on the floor, backs against the side of the bed.

"We got in a stupid fight. We were dancing and we came upstairs to… Be alone and I don't know. He wanted to leave and go back to his dorm but I didn't want to leave you and Lizzie here. He got all worked up about how unfair it was that he had been trying to get me to go to this party for weeks but I didn't agree until you guys were coming as well and it just, it escalated from there and he left and I just needed someone to talk to and I thought of you and I'm sorry I ruined your moment with Maya and-" Hope had been rambling on ever since they sat down, trying to explain what had happened to Josie.

"Hey. Breathe." Josie gently wrapped her arms around her friend, rubbing her back soothingly. Hope who had started crying slightly again wiped her eyes before taking a deep breath. She moved to rest her head on Josie's shoulder. They sat like that for ages, just breathing, holding each other. After a while, Josie turned her head to plant a kiss on the top of Hope's head, just at the same moment as Hope moved her head to look at Josie. They both stopped dead when they realized how close they were, their noses almost touching.

It was completely still for a moment. Neither girl let out a breath as they just stared into each other's eyes. And then it happened. Josie barely had time to react before Hope's lips were on hers, before her arms wrapped around the taller girl, before she moved to straddle her lap.

The rest of the night was a blur after that. Josie remembered moving to the bed, she remembered moans and whimpers, she remembered whispered praises and skin pressed against skin. She remembered how her chest felt full, how her heart had cheered, how the other girl had felt like home.

And she remembered seeing her hand in hand with Landon as they all met up for lunch the monday after.
