Work Text:
Trotter: [to the guests of Monkswell Manor, who are gathered around Mrs. Boyle's body] So... who did it? [Nobody says a word] I'm not mad. I just want to know.
Mollie: I did. I killed-
Trotter: No, no you didn't. Chris?
Christopher: Don't look at me. Look at Giles.
Giles: What? I didn't kill her.
Christopher: Huh. That's weird. How'd you even know she was dead?
Giles: Because she's sitting right in front of us and she's dead.
Christopher: [leans in on him] Suspicious.
Giles: No, no it's not
Metcalf: If it matters - probably not - but Paravacini was whistling three blind mice-
Paravacini: Liar! I don't even like that crap!
Metcalf: Oh, really? Then what were you doing whistling by the library earlier?
Paravacini: I sing a little song because it amuses me; everyone knows that, Major!
Mollie: Look, I killed her, just take me away-
Trotter: No! Who killed her??!
Giles: [looks at Casewll, then at Trotter] Sergeant... Casewell's been awfully quiet.
Caswell: REALLY??
Giles: Yeah! Really.
Casewell: Oh, my God! [everyone starts arguing at one another except Trotter]
Trotter: [away from the guests inside the dining room] I killed her. She killed my brother and abused me, so I killed her. I predict ten minutes from now they'll be at each other's throats with war paint on their faces and a pig head on a stick. [turns to look at the guests as they continue to argue, then looks back] Good. It was getting a little chummy around here
