Welcoming yet neverending
Looping the mind with meaningless thoughts
Who owns this mind
Is it me or you
Are we one
Or are we separate
Up all night as time ticks by
Striking midnight on the town clock
Ringing in our own mind
All choices are shared
Just as a body is shared
Filling a void endlessly
So very painfully
Yet so very peacefully
We are never alone
Yet we always feel alone
We haven't found another quite the same
Does it make us mad
Or are we more sane than most
Stuttering and slipping word after word
Never can decide on a single thought
All wanting to say a different thing
Does it make us more collected
Or are we in pieces
Cracking and fraying at the ends
All in a colorful blur
Who are we?
Or is it
Who am I?
Are we the same as long ago
Or is it all new
that person lost long ago
Night flys by into day
we continue to lay wide awake
With eyes that see all
Yet see nothing
Would you pretend we aren't here
Will you act like you can't hear
Would you speak to us
What would you say
to the voices in our mind
