Chapter Text
Tommy watched from behind a tree, looking at the group with a saddened expression. It hurt to see them, it hurt so much. What hurt more was all he could head was just... static from their mouths.
“Tommy?” a voice asked, making the other jump a little and look behind him.
“Oh, hey Ranboo,” Tommy said, looking at the hybrid. Ranboo looked at the group Tommy was watching and frowned. He looked at Tommy who just looked down, saddened.
Ranboo sighed a bit, “Miss them?” Tommy nodded, watching as the group split. Tommy watched as one of them entered the closest house and the light turned on. He sighed and went to the house, hand going to the window, almost pressing it. Ranboo followed and put an arm on Tommy’s shoulder.
“It’s… they’ve all moved on,” Tommy sighed, “but I… I haven’t.” Ranboo nodded. Ranboo nodded and took his arm off of Tommy’s shoulder, but then held it out. Tommy eyed it cautiously.
The younger then sighed, and took it, and the two ran through town. Laughing and giggling happily. It was almost eerie how the town was filled with nothing but their laughter, yet nobody saw them. Tommy was used to it though.
They soon ended up in one of Tommy’s favorite places. Tommy grinned and sprinted to their spot. Tommy sat on one swing, and Ranboo sat on the one next to Tommy. The two looked at the night sky with wonder.
“You know, I never was really able to see the stars as well as I can now,” Tommy said, “Usually always so cloudy.”
Ranboo nodded, “I was always hanging in this really filled forest, so the trees blocked the sky for me.”
“Sounds boring,” Tommy muttered, “Didn’t even get to go cloud-watching.”
Ranboo looked at him interested, “Cloud-watching?”
“Well, it’s basically looking at the clouds and seeing what they’re shaped like,” Tommy explained, a wishful look in his eyes, he sighed, quite saddened.
Ranboo looked at Tommy sympathetically and then looked up at the stars.
“Cow,” Ranboo said, Tommy looking at Ranboo confused. “Cow, those stars,” Ranboo traced some of the stars, “look like they’re shaped like one.”
He then traced another set, “And those ones look like a musical note.” Tommy’s puzzled expression changed to one soft, then excited.
Tommy looked at the stars with over-dramatic thought before tracing some more stars, “Those stars look like a guitar! Oh and those, some cool sword!”
They traced some more stars before Tommy took notice of a few and frowned.
“Heart,” Tommy said sadly, tracing those stars. They were more faded than the other stars they had been tracing.
Ranboo looked at the almost faded heart then at Tommy, “You sure?”
“Yup,” Tommy said. “Heart.”
Ranboo nodded, “Alright.” The two stopped tracing stars but continued to look at the stars. They continued until they heard a door opening and lights flickering on. The two then took off as quickly as they had come.
Tommy was walking through town again when he came across a familiar group. He sat on the fountain, watching them converse. He looked at the fog all around, more than there normally was.
He then saw as one boy looked straight at him. That shouldn’t be possible.
“T-Tubbo, do you see that?” the boy questioned, asking another. That... that's not what usually comes out of their mouths?
The one who had been asked, the one who Tommy had missed talking to for so long, looked at the one who asked. He then turned to look and his eyes widened as well.
Tommy soon couldn’t hear anything. All he saw was the boy mouth ‘Tommy’ before the fog soon started to dissipate. He was left with them just staring at his spot.
He ran away quickly. Their eyes stuck on where he once sat. He could hear the static again.
“They saw you?” Ranboo questioned, looking at Tommy surprised. Tommy nodded and looked at his hands, still surprised himself.
“Yeah, I think so,” Tommy murmured, “It got all foggy, more than normal at least.” Ranboo nodded, looking at the sky in thought. The two laid there in wonder before Tommy traced some stars in the sky. “It’s still there.”
“It is,” Ranboo murmured. The heart was still there, though somehow a bit more bright. It wasn’t as faded as before. Tommy hummed in thought before sitting up.
“Think it means something?” Tommy asked. Ranboo got up as well and shrugged, why would he know? Tommy just sighed and shook his head. The two stood up after a few and looked around. They left the yard and sped off. They danced around, laughing happily as they went through town.
Nobody took notice of them as those boys had with Tommy before. Even if they laughed loudly, or giggled, or as they stood on the fountain. Why would they?
