“You should stop trusting those scammers or you will end up losing more than just your money” The large fishlike creature reprimanded as they walked over to Yasuhiro who was sitting on their worn old sofa admiring his latest purchase. “Is this one also false? But I was promised that this one was completely authentic, the old lady even appolagised for selling me a false artifact last time,” Yasuhiro knew by now that he should probably listen to his partner when it came to ancient artifacts, after all, wasn’t an eldritch being the one most knowledgeable in that area.
“Mortals can’t be trusted, you should have learnt that by now,” The monster’s voice sounded tired but still caring as they joined Hiro on the couch, putting one of their misshapen arms around the human. By now they had realised that this human wasn’t exactly the smartest of them but despite how annoying it could be at times they couldn’t help but to find it just as lovable as the rest of this person.
They had met Yasuhiro a couple of months back when he had been trying to summon a demon to help him fight off the mafia members who were coming for him. Since they hadn’t had anything better to do they had decided to help the human out for a little. However it hadn’t taken long before they had realised that this human really couldn’t be left alone.
Only a week after taking out the maffia for him Hiro had summoned them once more after getting himself into pretty much the same situation as last time. Since they had grown a bit attached to the human thay had once again helped out before returning to their home at the bottom of the ocean.
It was after being summoned for the third time that they had decided to just stay with the human, it had absolutely nothing to do with how adorable he was or how nice his voice sounded, no, it was purely to make sure that he was safe, purly for preventative reasons.
Yasuhiro had finally moved out from his mothers house and into a run down apartment in the outskirts of the city. He was really grateful for this cause it helped him to avoid having to explain to his mum about his eldritch creature partner. One would be surprised by how nice of a partner they were, eldritch fish creatures rarely get associated with the word caring.
But there wasn’t another way to describe the creature who now shared his apartment. First of all, he had helped with Hiro’s maffia problem, that really was all he ever asked for from his friends yet they had been the only one to actually do it. And when they had finally become a couple after a month or so of living together they had started acting even nicer than before. They would use lost treasure from the bottom of the ocean to help pay the bills and they would always gently wake Hiro up when he was about to oversleep.
Yeah, while it might seem strange to be in love with an eldritch being Hiro really didn’t care, they were way more perfect than any human anyway.
