A despicable joke:
Cale felt annoyed.
She didn't meant to eavesdrop but now that she did, she felt annoyed.
Cale is currently inside a café where she's meeting her girlfriend so they could go on a date but when she ended up hearing something she wished she didn't, she's currently feeling like flipping over the table.
The cup she's holding is almost crumbled by how hard she's gripping it just to stop herself from standing up, grab one douchebag's collar and throw him out the window (which she knows she can't do because of her noodle arms. But hey, its better to try than nothing.)
"Maybe I should try raping you"
The last straw of her self-control finally snapped the moment she heard those words from the table next to her. The damn asshole 'whispered' to the girl he was sitting with but still Cale was able to hear as well as the other things he'd been saying to the girl.
Cale slammed her hand on the table making the people inside the café turn to her but she didn't pay them any attention.
"Some pest is being noisy."
Cale ignored the look the two people next to her table (yes, the one she's been unconsciously paying attention to. Its not like she wanted to, its not her fault she could hear every word coming from that swine's mouth.) and walked towards the restroom.
There she stared at her reflection. Cale was frowning so much that she'll no doubt end up with wrinkles but she can't help it. Any girl out there would be outrage if they heard the same thing she did that was being told to another girl.
Really, men are scums. Disgusting pigs who can't even hold their lust even in a public place.
Maybe its a thing on their relationship and maybe its better to ignore it but rape joke? a mother fucking rape joke when its literally happening in real life?
'Let me cut your dick off and say its just a joke you fucktard.'
Cale is beyond annoyed.
Suddenly, the door to the public ladies' restroom opened, walked inside was the girl who had just received the joke from her probable lover.
Cale's eyebrow twitch just remembering that bastard's face.
"Hey you."
The girl slightly flinched at her sudden calling but Cale ignored that. She stared at the girl from the mirror and didn't bother hiding her annoyance.
"Do you enjoy hearing that?"
Shame flickered on the girl's face then she immediately looked down. Cale became even more irritated.
"If you don't like it, tell that bastard over that he better shut his trap or I'll go make him eat shit. You shouldn't let yourself get disrespected like that."
Cale washed her hands, not bothering to look at the girl who is most-likely looking at her now.
She turned off the faucet and turned towards the door, once she was holding the handle Cale stopped.
"You better stand up for yourself. Find someone who can respect you not some scum who jokes about raping you."
After saying that, Cale walked out of the restroom, not looking back.
She walked back to her seat and saw that her girlfriend was already outside. Cale took her sling bag and finished her coffee. She kicked under the table of where that damn lout was sitting so hard it made a loud 'bang!' startling the man. Then Cale didn't think twice and kicked that bastard's shin.
"이 새끼—!!"
Cale ignored him and walked towards the door of the café where her girlfriend was standing and looking at her.
As soon as she opened the door, Cale hugged Choi Han who was surprised at the sudden move but simply let Cale hug her.
"Cale-nim?"
Cale nuzzled her face on the crook of Choi Han's neck.
"I'm so glad its you"
She finally stepped back and saw that Choi Han was making a flustered face. Cale can't help but smile.
Really, her girlfriend was someone who would easily be flustered no matter what Cale does.
Cat-calling:
Cale was wearing a tennis skirt, black ankle boots and an off-shoulder blue polo. She didn't bother tying up her hair and simply let it down. While Choi Han was wearing black high-waisted denim shorts, black turtle neck underneath a red crochet crop top and white rubber shoes. Her short black hair was tied on a half ponytail.
Its not really a secret that Choi Han's fashion sense is practically non-existent that's why Cale was the one who chose all of her outfits inside her wardrobe and let Choi Han choose whatever she wants because Cale believes in her fashion sense. So if she's the one who arranged Choi Han's wardrobe, surely she won't fail to choose a nice outfit, right?
Cale is happy that her efforts bore fruit.
They were walking down the street after leaving that café because Cale honestly didn't want to stay there anymore. She told Choi Han what happened and even her girlfriend was mad and even thought that they should go back and kick that bastard but Cale told her that she already did that. Choi Han stared at her in awe for a whole minute.
Because they were outside, Choi Han had to stop herself from pampering Cale with short kisses as a reward for what she did (which Cale is both happy that she won't be receiving any kiss out on public and unhappy about the fact that she's not getting her kiss anytime soon. She'll make sure to ask for her kisses once they're somewhere private).
Both were engaging in a casual conversation as they walk like they are in their own little world when Choi Han saw the way the two guys they passed by looked at Cale.
Choi Han frowned at that but it seems like Cale didn't notice so instead of saying anything she gently placed her arm around Cale's waist as to not startle her and pulled her close.
But then those men then made a whistling sound and slapped their hand once.
Choi Han let out a murderous intent.
The scums didn't even seem to notice what she's trying to convey or chose to ignore her and simply added more wood to the fire.
"Hey sexy, mind joining us for a bit? Give us a kiss, come on"
Choi Han snapped.
They dare—
Cale held her arm, stopping her from moving towards those men.
"Ignore them"
Choi Han's lips formed a thin line. She's trying to stop herself because Cale asked her too but then the dogs started barking once again.
They can do whatever they want but not sexualize Cale who is literally just passing by.
"이개새끼."
Cale froze when she heard Choi Han curse for the first time so she was unable to react immediately when Choi Han left her side and went to beat those two guys to a pulp. When Cale came to, Choi Han was done and smiling innocently towards her while the two men who cat-called her where on the floor, unable to stand.
Cale looked between her girlfriend who was standing proudly and the two guys who looked like they were a pile of garbage instead. Cale didn't know what or how to react and just subconsciously touched her forehead.
An airy laugh escaped from her mouth.
scuttlebutt:
Cale is currently on her chemistry class. Although she and Choi Han are literally in class 1, they (unfortunately) have one (1) class where they aren't together. Since Choi Han attends physics class with Rosalyn while Cale is in this class along with her hyung.
Cale was done with the task given to her, and so was Alberu who is her partner for today's class. So Alberu thought annoying her was a good idea (which is not.) since both of them currently doesn't have anything else to do.
Cale was just about to refute whatever thing Alberu told her that got him laughing so bad to the point that he's clutching his stomach when they were approached by 2 of their classmates in this class but are actually from class 2.
"You two seem close"
Cale took one glance at the two girls before she looked down on her notes, not bothering to answer while Alberu snickered at her reaction.
"Yes, well I am this punk's hyung"
Girl 1's ear perked up. "Hyung? Not oppa?"
Cale frowned. Alberu, knowing his dongsaeng so well, decided to be the one to talk because he knows the moment Cale speaks its over for these two girls. Not wanting having to drag Cale out of the principal's office for whatever fault she'll end up making, Alberu spoke.
"You see," Alberu put on his scammer's gentle smile to be more convincing, "This brat doesn't want to call me with such girly honorific, I don't know what her deal is but that's what she wants" then Alberu made a 'Nothing I can do about that' kind of face.
Girl 2 propped her elbow on Cale's desk and rest her chin on her hand. "Eh~ so you're close enough that you even do those kind of thing? You two must be dating"
Cale's eyebrow twitched at her remark. Alberu saw this, and started to internally panic. Cale must not speak at all!
"Me? Dating this unlucky bastard? No way!" Alberu lightheartedly said while making a dismissive gesture like its something that will never happen even in a million years.
Girl 1 joined in to her friend's teasing.
"Why are you denying it? It must be true then that you're dating?"
Girl 2 soon added. "In fact, the two of you are always together in this class, sometimes I see you past by on our class and you're still together. You two are practically inseparable"
Girl 1 giggled, "Just admit it, we know the truth. Its not like we're going to tell anyone right?" she nudged her friend's arm and girl 2 then nodded her head.
"Ladies, There's nothing to admit because I already said the truth, we're not dating" Alberu tried hard to keep his gentle smile to his face but he's really starting to get annoyed by these girls' insistence.
"Oppa, you're the only one who's talking. Why isn't she saying anything? I bet she's offended that you're denying your relationship"
Cale, slowly, painfully slowly raised her head. Her lips twitched up when she heard this girl call her hyung 'oppa' like they're close.
"Why are you curious about our relationship?" at her response, the girls' seem to want to speak at that moment but Cale spoke first, "Is it because you have a crush on hyung? That's why you want to know? hmm?"
Cale was smiling with her eyes closed. The kind of smile that would make Choi Han look away and make Rosalyn pretend like she doesn't know what's about to happen.
This time, the girls were speechless for a bit.
Alberu laughed at that moment, "Wait. You have a crush on this oppa?" Cale tried to stop herself from gagging right there and then.
"N, no! We were just curious about what your relationship is!"
"That's right! Its not like we like oppa, its really not!"
Came the quick denial.
Cale looked around and saw that none of their other classmates in this class were heeding them mind. Cale smirked before turning to look at the two girls who were still denying that they like Alberu Crossman.
"So you asked us while everyone is busy so no one could pay attention to us?" Cale's smile widen. Alberu had a bad feeling but decided to shut up and let Cale do, say whatever she wants. Since it came to do this, the only thing he could to is keep quiet and make sure Cale doesn't end up making anyone cry.
"That's good."
The two girls beam at her positive response, only for their smiles to fall apart the moment they heard Cale's next words.
She whispered, "You should be thankful my girlfriend didn't hear about this." she shrugged her shoulders, "You never know how she'll take this news that some girls thinks I'm dating my hyung". Cale crossed her arm and leg, looking down on these girls. She never liked people trying to find gossip to spread around. "You see, my girlfriend won't tolerate anything related to me if it causes me discomfort. So you should be thankful she's not here."
At that moment, their chemistry class was over. Cale stood from her sit without hesitation and walked out. Leaving two stunned female classmates and Alberu who was internally laughing at the girls' reaction.
Pregnancy joke:
It was their breaktime. Alberu, Rosalyn and Choi Han all went out to buy food because they were hungry. Cale didn't want to walk all the way to the cafeteria for something like food and chose to stay behind.
Actually, Cale was experiencing a menstrual cramp and refuse to stand up. Instead, almost curling her body while resting her head on her desk.
"On your period, huh?"
Cale ignored the remark of her guy classmate who she knows is sitting all the way to the front of the class and decided to come bother her in her seat.
"Hey, does it hurt? I heard girls always complain about their abdomen hurting so you're probably the same?"
Cale ignored him once again.
There was silence for a few minutes and Cale thought maybe her classmate decided to give up on bothering her because she's adamant on not entertaining him, but then he made another remark.
"I know a way for the pain to go away. Just get pregnant and you're not going to suffer for 9 months" the guy snickered.
Cale closed her eyes. 'This again.'
She was getting tired of having to deal these kind of things. Seriously, can't all guys in the world just shut the fuck up? Cale was currently on her period and she's starting to get irritated.
"Maybe you should ask that guy friend of yours, what was his name again? Alver, Andrew, Amber or whatever his name is. yeah, just ask him. He'll make you feel good won't he?"
Cale's rest is practically being disturbed yet the guy still hadn't shut up. She's this close to making this guy regret ever being born.
"Or if he'd refuse a beauty like you then you can come to me"
That's it. She'd had enough of this guy's bullshit.
Just when Cale raised her head, ready to fight some bastard, she saw Choi Han placing a strawberry yogurt on her desk with an innocent smile on her face.
"Cale-nim, does it still hurt? please eat this, it might help"
Cale blinked once. Then she looked around the room. She didn't see the guy who was bothering her and Alberu as well as Rosalyn were nowhere in sight. Then finally, she looked up at her girlfriend who was still smiling innocently.
Cale pursed her lips, "...Strawberry yogurt?"
"Yogurt helps with cramps, no? plus its strawberry because I know you like sweets"
Cale started to smile. Choi Han is always thoughtful of her. Its enough for Cale to forget whatever thing that guy was telling her. Cale happily ate her yogurt.
"Cale-nim, I'll go out for a bit, please enjoy the food"
Cale simply nodded her head. To immerse in munching on her strawberry yogurt. She heard Choi Han chuckle at her before leaving.
Cale peeked to the door that Choi Han had just gone through and saw Rosalyn's hair. She seems to be holding someone's arm but Cale couldn't see anything else because the door was closed.
She just shrugged her shoulders and thought whatever that was is none of her concern. Choi Han bought her food to help with her cramps and she's more than happy to eat it rather than think about anything else.
Girlfriend's dilemma:
One of the common things Cale hears from in-a-relationship girls gossip is that they're having a problem because their lover is too busy with other things that they're not making time to spend with each other anymore. They don't get to go on dates and stuff because their lover's attention is on something else and left them neglected.
Here, the thing is. Cale is the one who is busy with other things that she's unable to spend more time with Choi Han but Choi Han had never once complain about it.
Cale wants to hear about what Choi Han feels when she ends up spending time with herself rather than them together but she's also quite hesitant to hear her answer.
There was that one time that Rosalyn blurted out something without really thinking much about it that weighted on Cale's mind for the past few days now.
It was during their lunch time and Rosalyn stayed back with her at that time. She was mindlessly scribbling something on her notes so they both weren't talking much when suddenly Rosalyn said:
"You two really don't seem like lovers sometimes. You rarely go out to hang out together outside from our hangouts as friends, don't you?"
Rosalyn was still scribbling so she was unable to see Cale freeze at her words.
Since then Cale had been conscious of the fact that she indeed spends less time with Choi Han outside school. The only time they'd be together is at during classes and when they go out on dates which is like... once every 2-3 three months.
Cale was definitely at fault here but she also can't do anything about it.
During weekends, she'd go visit and play (note: Get drag around) with On, Hong and Raon who lives a few kilometers away from their community. Its not so far away but it would take her a few hours to get there.
Cale would then stay with them for a day and come back home on Sundays. Making her choose to rest for the entire day before school begins again. That's why she can't really ask Choi Han out on a date and neither did Choi Han ask her out because she's aware of what Cale does during weekends.
Still, Cale can't help but feel bad at the fact that her girlfriend is technically being neglected by her.
So Cale decided to ask about what Choi Han feels about them not going out that much and then decide what she'd do next (since she'll still need to go spend some time with the kids or else they'll sulk and refuse to talk to her again)
Cale lightly kicked Choi Han's knees to get her attention.
They are currently alone in the classroom, Choi Han wanted to stay behind to study for a bit and Cale decided to join her. She thought this might be the perfect time to ask since no one's hear to eavesdrop on them.
"Cale-nim?"
Cale took a deep breathe, mustering her courage to speak up. She decided to face the problem rather than dilly-dally all week.
"Han-ah"
Choi Han blinked. Then in the next minute, she became flustered.
Cale tries to stop herself from smiling at her girlfriend's reaction and called her again.
"Han-ah"
"Y, yes?" Choi Han cutely stammers, making Cale's heart make a loud thump!
Cale steadies herself for a few minutes (because her girlfriend is way too cute!) before finally asking.
"What..." Cale finds herself averting her gaze, "What do you feel about me not spending as much time with you than I'm supposed to?"
She was met with silence.
Cale glance at Choi Han and saw that she was smiling at her.
"Are you worried?"
Cale didn't deny it.
Choi Han let out a light laugh before taking Cale's hand in hers. She started to rub circles on Cale's knuckles.
"Its fine with me. As long as you're not meeting someone behind my back or cheating on me," Cale frowned at the word 'cheat' making Choi Han smile even more. Both of them knew Cale would, could never do that and Choi Han is the same. "Whatever you do is fine with me. I know Cale-nim doesn't only belong to me that's why I'm not selfishly asking for your time"
Cale's heart skipped a beat at her words. Always, and even now, Choi Han would think about her rather than abusing her rights as Cale's girlfriend.
Cale's chest felt warm at the consideration that Choi Han had been making.
"I also know that Cale-nim loves to sleep and slack off," she laughed at the face Cale was making before finishing her sentence, "And I don't want Cale-nim to sacrifice her me-time just to hang out with me"
"But you're important"
Choi Han smiled at Cale's words.
"We see each other at school, that's enough."
Choi Han stopped rubbing circles on Cale's knuckles and intertwined their fingers. Their palms clasped together.
"Cale-nim, just because we're dating doesn't mean you need to sacrifice other important things such as your time with other people and time with yourself. Please never neglect your needs for me. I don't mind that we don't go on dates often like other people. After all, aren't we different from them?"
Her eyes seem to reflect the stars that still aren't twinkling out on the sky. Those irises that Cale doesn't mind falling for over and over.
Really, Cale is so lucky that she's dating Choi Han rather than some douchebag who would probably not respect her as much as Choi Han does.
A soft smile forms to her lips. "You're right. We're special so we don't need to follow what the 'norm' is."
Choi Han looked satisfied at the response she got.
Cale hum then tilted her head slightly to the side, "How about this weekend let's go meet On, Hong and Raon together?"
Choi Han was stunned at her words. Making Cale chuckle.
"I know they'll like you. I like you after all" Cale didn't give Choi Han time to react and swiftly added, "Then it will also be our date. There's a garden near the house and we can go there. Han-ah, lets go on a date, okay?"
Choi Han covered her reddened face with her free hand, while Cale smiles triumphally. Happy that she manage to make Choi Han react like this.
