Adora didn’t really want to go back to Mystacor. She didn’t have the best memories of the place, everything tangled up with Shadow Weaver’s manipulations and then the Failsafe that had nearly killed her—and worse, nearly cost her Catra. But Glimmer, who loved the place, wouldn’t rest until Adora “at least gave it a real chance,” and Catra was intrigued by the idea of beaches without water. So off to Mystacor they went.
They set themselves up on a beach, and Adora immediately started pacing and fidgeting, full of memories and the worst kind of energy. Catra, narrowing her eyes thoughtfully, pulled her down onto her own towel, and draped herself on top of her, pinning her down. And with Catra’s warm, purring weight on her chest, Adora had to hold still long enough to feel the breeze, feel the sun, hear the whisper of the cloud-waves. Her pulse slowed, anxiety leaving her in a long, shaky breath as her arms wrapped around the girl she’d loved all her life.
Maybe Mystacor wasn’t so bad after all.
