What if life gave you another chance to fix things?
This thought was on Winter’s mind since Qibli and Anemone teleported him to the Ice Kingdom on the battle between the IceWings and the NightWings.
What if something allowed someone to fix the mistakes they made in the past?
Winter often thought of these things even after Snowfall reinstated him as prince of the IceWing kingdom. He walked within the Ice Kingdom halls to check where he was in the circle, and when he was looking, his jaw dropped. The wall where the circle listings were someone destroyed it. He went to the nearest dragon, who was a soldier.
“Who destroyed the gift of order?” Winter asked.
“Queen Snowfall,” the IceWing soldier said.
Winter was very confused, so he assumed that Queen Snowfall was trying to change how the Ice Kingdom worked.
Queen Snowfall let Winter stay here as long as he liked, but he wanted to go back to Sanctuary to see what the remaining Pantalans were doing.
Plus, he wanted to try to get some scavengers to live there without fear of being eaten.
“Hi, Winter!” a voice came from behind him.
Winter turned around and found Mink looking at him.
“Princess Mink, I have never seen you in a long time,” Winter said.
“Winter, please. Don’t call me a princess when you are my cousin,” Mink said. “I still love it when you call me just Mink.”
“Okay, just Mink,” Winter told her. He realized what he said, and memories of Qibli surfaced in his mind.
“Hey!” Mink pouted. “You’re playing with me!”
“Sorry, a friend used to do that to me,” Winter said.
“Ooh! Who is that friend? Is it a NightWing?” Mink asked.
Moonwatcher came to his mind. “No, he is a SandWing. I am sure you saw him before.”
“Where?” Mink asked.
“He was with Queen Thorn when Snowfall was in meetings,” Winter said.
“Oh!? Him?” Mink asked.
“Yes,” Winter said.
“Where is he?” Mink asked.
“Flying to another continent,” Winter said.
“He’s stopping evil?” Mink asked. “Awesome!”
“That’s Qibli, alright,” Winter said with a smile.
“Mink! Where are you?” came the voice of Snowfall.
“Coming!” Mink called. “Bye, Winter! It was nice seeing you again.”
Winter waved to Mink as she turned around and ran.
Winter smiled and walked towards the wall where the gift of order was.
He touched one of the rocks which contained the seventh circle, where he supposedly was, but the words were gone.
He then found another object - a glowing rock.
That wasn’t glowing when he first saw the broken wall. He proceeded to touch it until he disappeared without a trace.
I have never read The Dangerous Gift, so these things may be inaccurate, correct me if I got something wrong, and please do not refrain from giving me spoilers. It would be helpful for this fanfiction to be as accurate as possible.
