Chapter Text
Sam had just finished his perimeter check after the chaos from the protocol. He was on his way back to Dream’s cell to check on him & Tommy. He felt kinda bad for leaving the kid in there considering his history with Dream. He hoped he could give him a proper apology when he let him come out. Once at the lava wall, he called out into it.
“DREAM, TOMMY, ARE YOU GUYS ALRIGHT” yelled Sam.
He didn’t really care what was up with Dream unless he escaped but he was really worried about Tommy.
There was no response.
“TOMMY!!” called Sam, again.
There was no response but a laugh could be heard. Unfortunate to those who heard it.
“I’m coming in, stand back” exclaimed Sam, as he pressed a button to lift the lava wall.
Once the wall was lifted and Sam stepped on to the platform, There was an unexpected and gruesome sight. There stood Dream, hands covered in blood and back facing towards Sam, laughing. Under him laid a bleeding and hopefully unconscious Tommy.
“Too late, Mr. Warden” teased Dream, as he began wiping his hands on his shirt.
Sam stepped onto the obsidian room and snatched Dream by his shirt.
“WHAT THE HELL DID YOU!?” cried Sam, pressing the tip of his weapon to Dream’s throat.
“Nothing, I was just getting tired of him” stated Dream, with a sickly sweet tone.
Sam growled before shoving Dream into the while. Dream hit hard and slid down to the floor. Sam turned around and began to collect Tommy into his arms.
“Better hurry cause I don’t think he has long” called Dream, as Sam began to run to the exit.
Sam ignored his taunt as he dropped the lava wall. Once in the main backroom, he quickly placed his weapon down so he could look for a sign of life in the teen.
He tried his wrist.
Nothing.
He tried his neck.
Nothing.
He pressed his head to the kid’s chest.
…
Nothing…
Sam tried to double check all of Tommy’s pulses again.
Hoping
Praying
That it wasn’t true
After what felt like the tenth time checking, Sam gave up. He pulled Tommy, now confirmed dead, into a hug. He knew he wasn’t gonna get a hug in return. He just wished to feel the kid in his arms.
…
Sam wrapped the
dead
teen in a spare blanket as he carried him out of the prison. Once out the portal, Same closed it and sighed. He had been unknowingly crying since he left Dream’s cell.
He looked up to the overworlds’ sky.
The sun was beginning to set.
Though to Sam, the sun was already gone.
He carried Tommy to the community graveyard. No one was around, Which gave Sam a relief but increased his depression. He placed the boy to the side and began to dig a simple grave for him. It took him a short while but once he finished it, he gazed over at the unconscious
dead
TommyInnit. He pulled the kid into his arms for a final time before laying him down to rest. He placed him into a simple coffin and placed the blanket over him. Sam began to fill the hole back up with regret and pain in his heart.
Why didn’t he come sooner?
He knew they didn’t get along but he left him there?
He was such an idiot…
After looking down at the now filled grave, Sam went off to find a stone to carve into a headstone, probably out of cobblestone.
Once as Sam disappeared up the path, a mist began to form in the graveyard.
