"We need to stop having this conversation every century, don't you think? "
"Hello to you too..."
"You are not gonna take a seat?"
"Sure, right, yeah..."
"How long have we known each other, Crowley?"
"I... I don't think i remember. Don't star-"
"You don't remember."
"Ugh"
"How many times have we met in this same bench, so close to a place you keep denying knowing?"
"Look i didn't come here for a lecture, if yo-"
"Do you know why I keep coming everytime you ask?"
"You're bored?"
"Well, out of all immortal beings, no one has ever called me so many times as you have... And I might be creation's shadow, but I am still curious."
"You have some weird interests, let me tell you."
"You can stop pretending now, Crowley"
"Wha-"
"You know what I mean. It's not necessary. Not here. Not now. Certainly not with me."
"... You're not making this easier, hope you know that"
"You know my answer already, don't you?"
"Yes."
"Why are we here then?"
"i just miss Her."
"And you expect me to do something about it?"
"Ye-No. I'm not sure anymore."
"You have been around them for too long, have you not?"
"... S'that supposed to be insulting? I'm a demon, y'know? "
"Not really. A mere question."
"... I like it here."
"I see... So why do you keep coming back to this place? Why do you keep looking for an answer I have already given you a long time ago?"
"Humans do that too, don't they?"
"You are not exactly human, are you?"
"S-so what? Can't i just want to meet an old friend?"
"Friend... Very few beings ever called me that. An interesting choice of a word."
"I-..."
"You should be careful about who you consider a friend, Crowley. Thought you might have grown out of it already after all."
"Look I can judge myself well enough, thank you."
"Crowley, life is a funny little thing humans wouldn't understand even if they could see it and hold it in the palm of their hands. But you have been here even before any of them. You know your purpose, for if was given to you from the start. You know your place, for you were given the chance to choose it. I do understand that need of thrill that runs in your essence, your curiosity and lack of judgment sometimes but why do you keep chasing death?"
"I'm not chasing you. I'm.... chasing a part of me I miss"
"How so?"
"You remind me of the last prayer i sent Her when I fell. As odd as it might seem, you are the closest I feel from her."
"You are surrounded by so much Grace for a demon with abandonment issues."
"Oi-!"
"What I mean is... Why have you not found any solace in that Grace?"
"I know you can see my true essence and how hollow I feel. It would be helpful if you avoided rhetorics..."
"I do see you, Crowley... Always have."
"Does everyone who fell feel this miserable? Feeling like this is humilliating. Isn't this supposed to be easier after all this time?"
"The real question here is, would an honest answer help you in any way?"
".. Nah."
"Letting go, Crowley, can be as hard as letting in. And you have already been through both."
"You can just call me stupid without all that ominous talking, you know?... Ngh, why do I keep talking to you again?"
"I know. But I do not intend to do such a thing. And you are the only one capable of answering that question."
"Look... I know you can't. But... if you can, would you tell Her I miss Her for me?"
"... I will, Crowley"
"Thank you."
"Until next time... old friend."
