A Sky on Fire

Summary:

The sky was on fire, with clouds of smoke and he knew right from the start that was not good. He didn’t know his legs could carry him that quickly. He just knew one thing. He had to get to you, to Kirishima.

He put his finger up to his earpiece.

“Y/N... Eijirou...Anyone fucking say something if you can hear me.”

Work Text:

The sky was on fire, with clouds of smoke and he knew right from the start that was not good. He didn’t know his legs could carry him that quickly. He just knew one thing. He had to get to you, to Kirishima. It had only been about twenty minutes since the explosion of the villain base but you were only a mile from him before the explosion. Kirishima was about another mile from you.

He put his finger up to his earpiece.

“Y/N... Eijirou...Anyone fucking say something if you can hear me.”

The static in the earpiece began to take shape. “Ka...Kat.” Katsuki recognized that voice anywhere.

“Eijirou…. Eiji, where are you?”

“Katsuki, it’s bad.” Bakugou felt his heart stop momentarily. What was bad?

“The fucks wrong shitty hair… Are you hurt?” Bakugou prayed that wasn’t the case.

“I’m not... It's y/n…. They were talking to me. They sounded hurt but then their mic was cut off.” Bakugou’s legs picked up the pace.

“Where the fuck are you shitty hair?”

“I’m in a small clearing. Let me see if I can send you my location.” The tracker beeped and showed a little red dot labeled Red Riot. Bakugou was close. “Katsuki… their voice cut off out of nowhere, their voice sounded more and more scared before it cut off, what if the villains…”

Bakugou watched the tracker get closer to the red dot. He stopped as he looked at a body, it looked like it had been stabbed with a tree. “Shitty hair did you come in contact with anyone after the explosion.”

“Ah.. yeah one guy attacked me… I hardened myself during the explosion and when I landed he came at me… I had to um… take him out…. permanently. “ Bakugou could hear Kirishima's regret as he spoke. That means he’s close to Kirishima.

“Hey it will be ok, it was either you or him and... I'm happy you chose yourself.”

Bakugou stepped into the clearing and saw the redhead on the other side. “EIJIROU,” Bakugou yelled. Kirishima looked up and began to rush over to Bakugou. When the two came close Kirishima grabbed Bakugou and pulled him in a hug. Bakugou then felt something wet on his shoulder and it had processed in his brain that Kirishima was crying. Katsuki took Eijirou’s head in his hands and there was a small cut on his cheek. Bakugou then checked Kirishima for injuries.

“Katsuki is that blood?” Eijirou said, his eyes wide at the cut that ran across Katsuki’s shoulder.

“No?” Bakugou hadn’t realized he was cut there. It wasn’t as deep as it looked so it didn’t need to be tended to right away.

“That's not something you answer with a question.”

“I’m fine, how are you, are you hurt?” Bakugou said, looking at the blood that stained Kirishima’s costume.

Kirishima hugged Bakugou again, tears running down his face. “I didn’t wanna kill him.” Eijirou sobbed. Katsuki wanted to comfort him, he wanted to sit on the ground and hold his scared lover but you were still out there injured.

And if Eijirou found a villain here then that means there could be more out there.

“Eiji we have to find them.” Kirishima wiped his boyfriend’s tears and Kirishima nodded.

“They were between you and me so they have to be this way somewhere.” Kirishima then wasted no time running.

Katsuki tried his earpiece again, “Y/N can you hear me.” He said this over and over again until he heard a weak voice come through the earpiece.

“I...I’m… I’m in tr… trouble.” your voice sounded so scared and tired. Katsuki’s throat went dry.

“Try to send your location ok?” Kirishima stopped and looked at Katsuki, his face waiting with anticipation.

“Ca...can’t trac...cker is… broken” Katsuki’s heart hit the floor.

“Let me try to track you ok?”

“Ya..ok”

Katsuki tapped his fingers on his tracker and after a minute of anxious silence, a small purple dot appeared on the screen. “I got you.”

There was a loud crash “Pl..ease hurr-” You cut off entirely. No static, your voice sounded so panicked.

Eijirou began sprinting so fast that Katsuki was having a hard time keeping up.

Both boys couldn’t prepare themselves for how bad things were when they got there.

You were sitting up against a tree, cornered while using your water quirk as a poor attempt to keep the villains away. You looked like you were about to lose consciousness and there was a lot of blood.

“Get the fuck away from them,” Katsuki yelled as he and Eijirou charged the men that surrounded you.

Kirishima and Katsuki took turns taking out the guys who surrounded you. In total there were seven of them. You had to fight them off all alone for God knows how long. You were so strong.

Both boys ran over to you. The kindest way to put it was you looked awful. You had multiple cuts running up and down your body. Your ankle was bent at an unnatural angle and your arm was broken. There was blood everywhere and most of it was yours.

“Hey, we're here now,” Eijirou spoke, his voice was soft but you could tell he was panicking.

“Get out all of your first aid shit,” Katsuki demanded. He and Eijirou began emptying their utility belts for all the first aid supplies as well as slowly taking them from yours. You hadn’t spoken yet, your eyes were trained on katsuki, why?

“Why are you looking at me like that?” he said softly, not wanting to upset you.

“Your shoulder.” Your voice sounded tired and strained.

Katsuki and Eijirou couldn’t believe it. You could hardly move, you needed ten times more medical attention than either of them. Yet here you were worried about a cut that wasn’t even that deep. You were so sweet that it was sometimes annoying how kind you were.

“Don’t worry about that right now we have to fix you up.”

Both boys slowly took the major parts of your hero costume off so they could work on patching you up. Most of the cuts were not extremely deep. There was one on your leg though, that would need many stitches.

Eijirou was in the middle of your cuts along your legs when he stopped and looked at your foot. He then looked at Katsuki with eyes asking, Can you do it, I don’t have the heart to.

Bakugou knew he didn’t either but it had to be done, “Hey we have to fix your foot.” Your eyes widen with fear.

“No please, just leave it alone.”

“I can’t just leave it alone.”

Kirishima put his hand on your face “Well make it quick hon, I promise.”

“Ok” you sounded so scared and it broke the boy’s hearts.

“On the count of three ok?” Katsuki said hoping that will ease you.

“One,” Katsuki then twisted without warning and you let out a sound he wished he never had to hear. Kirishima was quick to comfort you. Kissing your forehead and telling you it's over now. Katsuki wiped your tears and finished bandaging your leg. He made a makeshift splint out of a twig and Kirishima used the rest of the gauze to make a makeshift cast for your arm.

You were drowsy from pain and exhaustion. It was clear you really couldn’t speak right now. Not when you were in so much pain. Kirishima gently moved you to where you were leaning upon him instead of the hard tree.

“You should rest hun,” Kirishima said as he kissed your forehead. Katsuki then took a seat next to his lovers.

“Eiji is right love, you need to rest so your body can begin working on healing.” you did a small nod before curing up and closing your eyes. Bakugou leaned over and placed a kiss on your cheek and then one on Eijirou’s. He then began working on sending his location to headquarters. It wasn’t long before Kirishima drifted off with you. Bakugou would never say it out loud but he was happy both of you were here with him and safe.

After he sent his location he found himself drifting off with his head on Kirishima's shoulder. Soon all of you would wake up and be transported home where everyone could heal and Katsuki couldn’t wait to be able to curl up in bed with his lovers.
