Work Text:
"My heart, my soul, my one and only,
This angel you have saved,
From the eternal darkness of life,
Down this dark path,
You have lead him to the light."
The angel sat, hunched over his desk as he started on the poem. It was late at night. His beloved demon was already asleep by now, getting his rest.
Sometimes, Simeon wondered how he got himself in this situation. It was unusual for an angel to love a demon. They were always described as cruel and disgusting up in the Celestial Realm.... That wasn't true however, Simeon knew better. He leaned back in his chair, his eyes trailing down to the engagement ring on his hand, a small smile overtaking him. It was incredible, really, how someone could be as kind and sweet as Barbatos is.
That is why this book has to be a success Simeon thought to himself.
This book, that he would fill out with all his love and gratitude he felt for the man. This book would be his gift to the world and to Barbatos himself.
He would make sure everyone knows how he truly feels for the demon butler.
"Love you have shown, love you have given,
And this angel will cherish those moments,
Yes it's true,
Without you he wouldn't know what he'd do,
The slave of your heart, this angel will never break free."
With the pen in his hand once more, Simeon continued to write. This was his first poem, while he was never really that much of a poet, when he is with Barbatos..... Well, what better way to express his true feelings than with words?
Perhaps then people would be more accepting of his love. Once he releases this book. Maybe then they will understand.... He just wants everyone to understand.
There were, of course, a few that fully supported him, which he was grateful for, definitely but.... Sometimes, it was hard to deal with the judgemental looks of the other, less accepting angels. Which is why he preferred to stay in the Devildom.
"You are my world, my best friend, my one and only,
His sweet flower that blooms in summer time,
The gorgeous leaves that leave their homes during fall,
Each snowflake during winter, can't compare to your beauty."
The Devildom.... His and Luke's new home. He didn't expect that when he came down for the exchange program that he would be staying.
.... Can you really blame him? The Celestial Realm never really made him happy, he had only stayed for Luke. Now, however, Luke wanted to stay down here too. He was quite surprised when he heard it.
The younger angel got close with the demon butler, just like he had. It didn't take long for them to become a small family. Soon, it will be official. Barbatos and he already legally adopted Luke.
Now all that was left was to get married.
"You are my spring, my happiness, my one and only,
This angel feels nothing but gratitude and love,
For you dear Barbatos,
You have saved him,
Of his morals set him free,
Your love is all he needs."
Marriage, another thing he never thought would happen once he arrived for the exchange program. However, when Luke came stumbling over with that ring, saying it's from Barbatos. How could he say no?
A giddy smile overtook the angel as he recalled the day. He got into some trouble and as punishment Diavolo forbade him to see Barbatos for a while. He was miserable at the time and decided to go back up to the Celestial Realm with Luke..... Then the tiny angel surprised him with the ring.
Seems like Barbatos was a bit impatient to see him again too.
"Yes,
This angel so selfish,
Wants it all to himself,
Your love,
Your smile,
Your eyes so sweet,
It's all that he wants,
All his to keep,
You're like a drug keep him sane,
Yes it's true,
He is an addict for you."
Just like the poem said. He is an addict. Never had he felt such powerful emotions within him before. Such love and care for someone else. It was all for Barbatos. All for him.
He would give everything he had up for the demon. He was already giving up his home and his friends up at the Celestial Realm. It's worth it however. Barbatos is worth everything. Without him, life would have no meaning now. He got a taste of that sweet love Barbatos was willing to give, he wasn't going to give it up anytime soon.
"You are my universe, my cure, my one and only,
Now and forever,
His heart belongs to you,
My love, my dear, my one and only."
Simeon placed his pen down as he finished the poem.
Soon, he will be Barbatos' one and only too.
