Work Text:
Monty has had a long day today with the band, they all seem to avoid him like some school-kid with cooties. He didn’t know what to do to fix this, and frankly, he didn’t really care what they thought.
There was only one person that monty really cared to get to know. This person just so happened be the daycare attendant, surprising, right?
Even he couldn’t believe it! But the sweet little ray of sunshine really had him intrigued. So, he began to make his way to the daycare while hoping that the daycare attendant wouldn’t mind him showing up unannounced.
He was approaching the doors when suddenly they swung open, a white lady in her mid-30s came storming out with a little brunette boy with a bandaid on his face crying by her side.
Before Monty could say something, the lady had shoved him out of the way and muttered under her breath “stupid fucking machines.”
He was both ready to beat this bitch up and worried about what had happened, so he forgot about the rude lady as he went into the daycare where sun was slightly pulling at his rays while standing next to a security guard.
As he walked closer he could hear what they were saying, sun was muttering something about how he should’ve been careful and that it was his fault, while the security guard was telling him that he should just get back to work and not care about it. This sight alone made monty feel sick, despite him being a robot and all.
He quickly ran up to sun and asked, “What happened, cher? You okay?”
Sun had stopped pulling his rays to wrap his arms around monty and said, “I should have been more careful Monty! It was my fault!”
Monty was about to ask what was going on when the security guard chimed in, “A mother was complaining about how her son shouldn’t have been playing around our ‘death machines’ and proceeded to yell about how our daycare attendant was dangerous.”
“Why was she calling Sun dangerous?” Monty asked, as he rubbed little circles into suns back to try and calm him down.
“W-well we were playing and I-I accidentally scraped his cheek with my hand.” Sun said while his voice started to glitch,
“I tried to t-tell parts and s-s-services about th-the hand being a bit broken earlier this week b-but..” Sun said while he went quiet and began to..cry?
Monty was very confused and angered at the same time, since when could animatronics cry? Well, whatever the reason, he never wanted to see it happen again.
The security guard was already walking out the doors at this point and said, “I’ll tell them now, you should be fixed soon, wouldn’t want someone to try and sue again.”
Monty was comforting Sun to the best of his abilities, shushing him and thinking of something to say.
“It’s okay Sunny, accidents happen.” This went on for a few minutes, Monty occasionally telling him how it wasn’t his fault, or how maintenance should’ve helped him when he asked them to.
Sun was no longer panicked, but he was still crying. So, monty had tried to get his mind off of it.
“Hey, Sunshine, why don't we color some drawings, wouldn’t that be fun?” Monty said while cupping Suns little cheeks and wiping his left-over oily tears away.
“I would like that Monty.. thank you..” Sun said while he watched Monty grab the drawing supplies.
