Work Text:

Struggle/ Support

She had wanted the path of Hero, so she could help people and make them smile. She had picked it to give back to her parents, who gave her everything. Compensation going hand in hand with her desires. Then she chose to live and embody it. She chose to put her life on the line for those in need and she chose to do everything she could to save those in pain.

She thought she was ready to pay any price, given that she saved the people around her to do so. The beeps and hisses of hospital equipment set her on edge, never letting her forget where she was. Was it selfish to not want to pay some prices?

People talked about changes in life all the time. Changes in families, jobs, homes, schools, careers. All of it all the time, good and bad.She had been pushed to her limit, her strength truly being tested. And she didn't think she had any left to draw on. Almost seven years as a Hero to be reduced to this. Wallowing in her loss, sequestered to a bed for who knows how long.

She had spent so long building her identity, relying on quirk and training. She had made a name for herself as a reliable and smile filled Hero. She couldn’t smile now. She didn't know what she was supposed to do now. She didn't know who she was anymore.

She looked at her right hand, pressing on her pads with her thumb. They had grown calloused with use and hard work. She had learned to fight for and to rescue with these fingers and to comfort those afterwards. Who was Uravity when all that was left was half of her?

She reached that hand across her body, placing her hand gently against her biceps, tracing the rounded banged empty space. It was weird, her brain still playing catch up with reality. She doesn't expect to see nothing when she looks but there is was, or nothing was, no hand. She looked at her feet, only one raised lump at the end of her bed, only sharing in symmetry at her thighs. She wiggled her last four toes, having lost her pinky toe as well. She dry laughed. A pinky toe. The only thing to lose on the right side of her body.

“Uravity there are still civilians trapped in the lower floors, can you float the building for rescue?”

She nodded, running as fast as she could towards the doors, brick crumbling around her, pebbles bouncing off her head and shoulders. She put everything she could into holding the main pieces of the building together long enough for everyone to make it.

She touched her head, bandages wrapped round and round, tightly holding her stitches in place.

“That's the last of them, let's get out of here!”

“Roger!” She took four quick steps away from the building, hands at the ready to release as soon as the clear area was wide enough. Then she heard it, the screams amid the roaring flames. Everyone turned towards the noise, the Villain they had been pursuing had corned another civilian in the lobby of the building next door.

She took off without a second thought, grappling wire shooting out to wrap around the man, yanking him away from the young man, back towards her back up. She skid on her knees, wrapping her arms around the young man, her left leg the first up, left arm extended to pull them out of there when-

The door to her hospital room opened, she looked up vaguely recognizing the two men to enter her room. One wore a white lab coat while the other wore dark blue scrubs.

“Good afternoon Uravity, I am Dr.Akira, I will be in charge of your prosthetics installment and Mr. Midoriya,” He gestured to the man beside him, “will be in charge of your rehabilitation”

“Thank you for taking care of me,” She bowed, mostly to hide her face for a moment to compose herself.

This meant she could still be a Hero, but it would be another two years at least before she was back on her feet. That was quite the break from her job. Plus, there was a pretty good chance that she wouldn’t be able to act as she used to, so she clenched her only hand.

“I understand this journey will be difficult but our goal is to get you back onto the streets as soon as possible, as I hope you can see, you are sorely missed.” He gestured to the piles of cards, flowers and fruit baskets around her room.

She smiled softly, “I understand, and I can’t wait to get back out there”

“I am a Heroics Rehabilitation Specialist,” Midoriya smiled at her, “I’ll help you get retrained and better than ever, sooner than you think.”

Her eyebrows rose, “retrained?”

He nodded, placing a hand on his hips and used the other to gesture towards her, “Your prosthetics will be very different from your natural arms, and losing one of your quirked hands means we will need to adjust your style to handle the changes.”

She hummed, thinking it over. It felt weird to be training again. “I see.”

I understand you are still recovering from your other injuries, but the sooner we get in there to get to work, the better. The longer it takes and if we let the limbs heal closed, the harder it will be for your brain to adjust to the hardwear.”

“Whenever you’re ready doctor,”

“You Hero types are always roaring to go,” Dr. Akira laughed, pulling out a tablet, “Here is a list of models to choose from, Mr. Midoriya will help you find the right fit.”

She looked at him, hand shaking as she took the tablet, “Wouldn’t any of them work just fine?”

Midoriya shook his head, “No, because of your fighting style, you'd want to stay away from bulk and weight.” He took Dr.Akira’s place beside her bed, leaning over to show her how to eliminate models.

“You need something light weight, but strong for your arm, but for your leg it would need to be slightly heavier to balance out your natural weight but still able to adjust to your self canceling gravity move.”

“Wow, you’ve put a lot of thought into this,”

“It’s my job,” he laughed, continuing to help her pick through the models.

She was quickly overwhelmed, the count well over a hundred in legs alone and probably triple that for arms. He continued to ramble off the stats of each and quickly dismissed them for consideration after comparing them to her.

She stopped looking and instead watched him as he dissected for her, listing off her strengths and weaknesses’ without missing a beat. His words flew out of his mouth at such a speed, it was almost like she was only glimpsing a fraction of what was going on inside that head of his.

He looked standard for a nurse, cleaned up, and had a friendly face. However he talked like a quirk specialist. He did say he specializes in Hero recoveries, perhaps he was recruited for the job? Heroes did get injured quite often after all.

“-this one I think is the best fit for you, it even has options to add attachments to the wrist and has a matching leg pair that needs very little adjustment to be a perfect fit for you.”

She looked over the pair he picked. They were a light gray, almost white, the fingers on the hand tipped in pink but the ring finger was tipped in green, and the toes on the leg were all black. Black lines ran along the seams of the equipment.

“Ok,”

“You don’t have anything to say about it?” He looked bewildered.

“Nah, if you know this will be the best then that's what we’ll go with, you’re the professional”

Not like she knew anything about robotics after all. She left that area to support class people. She couldn’t do what she did without them, but that didn't mean she understood it all either. That would leave them out of a job.

“Then we will schedule the surgery as soon as possible,”

“Thank you again Dr. Akira and Midoriya-san, please take care of me”

After they left the room her mask fell, exhaustion filling her to her core. Sometimes she wonders why she chose this life. Its left her broken and alone. She worked long hours and barely had time for herself let alone her friends, who were in the same boat as her. She did all of this for her parents and barely saw them, but she did feel settled knowing they were living a comfortable life now. So maybe some sacrifices were worth it.

She groaned, throwing her head back. Of course it was worth it, every choice she’s made for others has been worth it. That young man, kid, no older than nineteen, would have died if she hadn’t done anything. That was worth the cost of an arm, a leg, and a pinky toe to her. She laughed. Yeah it was hard, she looked out the window at her city, but so worth it.

Sweat dripped off her, and she felt like she was going to vomit from the strain. She hadn’t lost her lunch in years, and she sure didn’t miss when she finally grew strong enough for that particular set back to basically disappear.

She pushed with her one good leg again, the harness digging into her armpits. The muscles trembled beneath her like they did after her old highschool runs with Iida. She panted, grabbing tightly with the rails on either side of her.

Her stumps exploded in pain, her brain trying to adjust to the new nerve connectors. She felt herself slipping again, frustrated she hadn’t even made it halfway again. Strong hands settled on her hips, helping to steady her.

“Great job today Uravity-san, let's rest for today, give your body some time to continue rest adjustments.”

She nodded mutely, letting him help her into the wheelchair, and just stared at her new arm in frustration. Her leg alone was trouble, but everything she put her energy into over the years had been her arms. Shouldn’t those be the fastest muscle memories to recover? Shouldn’t this have been the easiest part of her recovery?

The halls of the Hero Recovery Center were silent, oddly enough she was the only one on the floor. Perhaps the whole building. Midoriya reached to help her into her bed, but she threw her real hand out, the robotic one shaking to respond. “Let me at least try to get myself into my bed,”

“Sure thing,” He smiled at her, stepping back far enough for her to feel like she was doing it by herself but not too far he couldn't help.

Four months now, and she knew she was making progress, she was just frustrated she wasn’t making progres fast enough. She gripped the side of her wheelchair, ‘feeling’ the fingers of her new arm wrap tightly around it. It was weird, how far technology has come for this to be a thing. Taking a deep breath, she pushed up, moving her good leg first to hold her weight, the muscles protesting working again so soon. She focused, willing her new leg to move as well, grunting in victory when it did. She stood, pausing to get her bearings before trying to take a step. She managed three quick steps, right to the side of her bed when her legs gave out.

Midoriya-san was quickly beside her, catching her and helping her back into her bed. He smiled at her, always smiling, pulling the sheets back over her. “That was amazing Uravity-san,”

“You say that everytime,” she looks at him unimpressed, “everything I do is amazing to you,”

He laughed, filling her water bottle beside her table. “Well that's because you continue to make milestones faster than any other Hero I’ve worked with before, you’re truly an amazing person.”

“Uh is that so,” She groans, laying her head down.

“Yup, and tomorrow we’ll switch back to working with your arm, up for a game of shogi?”

“I’ll beat you one of these days,” She grins at him, closing her eyes to sleep.

“I can’t wait to see it,” He laughs, “See you tomorrow Uravity-san”

She hums in response, sleep already washing over her, ready to rest her brain and recharge her spirit.

“Uravity, do you mind if I ask you something?”

“No go ahead,” She struggled to get her wrist to turn, trying to move the small piece in her grasp.

“What's it like being a Hero?’

“Well hard work, but I feel like you already know that,” She grinned at his laughter, “but it's also rewarding.”

“Not fun?” He tilted his head, making a move.

“If I am out doing my job, it's normally not because something ‘fun’ is happening. Yeah I like getting to fly through the city and use my quirk as I see fit, but that's not the job, not really,”

“Wow, I think you’re the first Hero I’ve heard say that,”

“Then the rest of who you spoke to were fresh out of school,”

“It was Dynamight.”

She snorted, doubling over. “Yeah that checks out for him”

“Well you would probably love to know, I grew up with him,” He whispered to her, leaning in.

“No” She whispered in glee, “Has he always been so..”

“Passionate?”

“I was going to say aggressive, but that works too,” She laughs

“That's what a lot of people say,” He grins, moving his next piece, “how was sharing class with him?”

She leaned back, taking a break from working her hand. She thought it over, remembering her limited contact with him, how he was always pushing himself and shouting about being the best. “Interesting, he was always the driving force behind our class, igniting everyone's competitive nature to catch up to him,”

“You made it pretty close to beating him, that was a sports festival to remember,”

She doesn’t know why it surprised her, but people rarely talked about her highschool days, her career of the last five years being the common topic of decision. “Well the arena isn’t favorable to my quirk, and I was fourteen,” she laughed awkwardly, not having really thought about that stuff in a long time.

“Yeah your strategy was really good, but you hadn’t learned any combat moves at the time so he had the advantage over you there”

“Just how closely have you been following my career?” She grinned at him, finally getting a grip on her next move, successfully moving the piece.

He turned pink scratching the back of his neck, “Oh sorry, I forget how creepy it comes off, I’ve always been a Hero and quirk enthusiast and have a pretty good memory because of it,”

“It's not creepy!” She quickly assures with a wave of her hand, “I’m just surprised is all.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, those are things I haven't thought about in a long time, so your memory is truly impressive. Is that how you got this job?”

“My job?”

“Yeah? You clearly know what you’re talking about when it comes to quirks and how to use them, so I thought you were recruited as a heroics rehabilitation specialist due to that”

“Oh no I actually wanted to be a hero when I was a kid,” He smiled sadly, “But that wasn’t meant for me, and a counselor at my school helped me pick this career. I can help the Heroes and use my knowledge to do so, or so he said”

“Well he was right, you were really meant for this job,” She smiled at him, “Just look at how well you’ve helped me. You’re a hero, just doing different work”

Now he looked surprised, their game truly forgotten this time. She saw his eyes glistening, paired with a wobbly smile. “Thank you,”

“Of course, now if it’s a sore subject I get it, but why couldn’t you become a hero?”

“Well I’m quirkless, so no one would take me on for a heroes course,”

She leaned back in her chair, surprised by the revelation. “Quirkless, wow,” She nodded, “well again, you’re still a hero regardless. I mean your job isn't all fun and games either,” She grinned at him, “I know I haven't always been pleasant.”

“Oh yea,” He laughed, looking at her in a way she’s never been looked at before, she felt something pleasant warm in her chest. “I would have never imagined Uravity had that kind of mouth on her,”

“Blame your friend Dynamight, stupid cursing nutjob”

Midoriiya laughed loudly at that, quickly covering his mouth with his hand. She laughed along, pleased at seeing such a reaction from him. He looked rather cute laughing like that.

The thought of finding him attractive didn’t bother her, surprisingly. He had looked cute when they had first met but now he was cute in a different way. She noticed new things about him. The curve of his jaw and the curve of his brow, both very strong features on him. His arms weren't bad either, able to catch her with ease and- She rubbed her temples, refocusing herself in the moment.

“You truly are amazing Uravity-san”

“Uraraka please, my hero name sounds so formal after how long we’ve spent together”

“Oh wow, ok,” He grinned widely.

“And you’re the amazing one, able to help me get back on my feet, literally,” She huffed, getting back to their exercise.

“If you say so Urav-Uraraka-san” She shook her head fondly at him still using honorifics.

She held out her new hand, forming a fist. “To being Heroes,”

He returned her fistbump, those tears returning to his eyes again, “Heroes”

“Thanks for visiting Tsu,” She was feeling better today, enjoying the fresh air from the rooftops, “I was starting to get lonely,” she teased.

“Sorry, we’ve been so busy,” she croaked, “How have you been?”

“Better, much better,” she grinned, flexing the fingers on her new arm. “I have better control now, still having trouble with the leg though,”

“You’ll get there, if you’re anything Ochako, it's determined.” Tsu chuckled.

“So I keep being told.”

“By who?” Tsu reached across the table to snag a rice cracker, “I thought I’ve been the only one to visit you in months,”

“Oh you are, but Midoriya-kun tells me everyday how amazing my progress is,” she laughs.

In just seven months she’s made astounding progress. She did have to say, in a world of quirks and all this technology it was a little annoying that adjusting to robotic limbs took way longer than the decades old option.

“Midoriya-kun?” Tsu looked at her in surprise, taking a bite of her cracker.

“Yes? Did I not tell you about him, I could have sworn I did,”

“Yes but at the time you called him Midoriya-san, spending all that time together seems to be doing good for you,”

“Good for me?” She took her own cracker.

“Yeah, you seem happier now,”

Happier? The first few months were hard. Dealing with the adjustments and recovering from the surgery before she even got to the rehab portion of things. It had been so difficult, the pain intense for the first month. Yeah she never wanted that again.

Tsu had visited a lot during the first two months from when she first got to the hospital, helping her talk through her feelings and thoughts on everything. That had been extremely needed. She didn’t realize how badly it had affected her emotionally till she started talking about it.

Her parents had stopped by often, she quickly told them once she started therapy that they didn’t need to stop everything for her anymore, she was an adult now she would be ok. Her mom had protested hard over that one, and they agreed to a visit a week. She loved them, but it was true, she wasn’t a little girl anymore. She was a seasoned Pro Hero. She could handle a little hospital stay without her parents there.

Other old classmates, sidekicks from her agencies, and even strangers had all stopped by to check up on her, wish her well on her recovery and drop off more gifts. She already started working with the hospital to donate all the gifts she didn’t have space or need for to the children's hospitals around the country. She felt kinda bad about it, but you can’t keep every gift.

Midoriya-kun had been a saving grace, his positivity never feeling fake or forced. He knew what to say to motivate her, and his extensive understanding of how her body moved and how she worked truly helped her get back what she was afraid she’d lose. His company had become her favorite part of her day.

She smiled softly, thinking of him. “Yeah I guess I am,”

“Now there's a look I’ve never seen before,” Tsu smiled, “Good for you Ochako, it’s about time you found someone.”

“What,” She shook her head, face erupting, “what?!”

Tsu gave her a look, “Are you telling me you and Midoriya-san are not dating?”

“No!”

“Realy?” Tsu seemed genuinely surprised.

“Yes, what possibly gave you that idea?”

“Your smile,” She said bluntly, “You were always busy before all of this Ochako. You never stopped moving, never made time for yourself,”

“Well I mean-”

“Things are easier in this job when you have someone to spend time with, whether that is romantically or not.”

She stiffened, not expecting her visit with Tsu to turn into a lecture about her old habits. Habits she honestly did plan on returning to.

“Our phone calls, Ochako, show how much he’s starting to mean to you, and I’m just happy you have finally found that person.”

Tsu stared her down, daring her to contradict her. “I know I can’t make you, but when you do return to the field, slow down, please. I don’t want you to end up here again,”

She didn’t respond. Couldn’t. Because she knew Tsu was right, but knew she wouldn’t listen.

“That's it Uraraka-san, you're done. You passed the rest of your tests!”

She smiled, eager to finally be cleared for duty. She continued her cool down stretches, reaching down to her toes. It had taken a couple months but she was finally back to where she had been physically a year ago.

It had been nice, spending the last three months at home, getting to spend the anniversary of the event in peace with no one else around. That had been harder than she thought it would be. It had been absolutely nice to be able to move around without hovering nurses and doctors. But she had missed Midoriya-kuns constant presence, something she wasn’t willing to admit to herself, or else give Tsu the satisfaction.

After all, she didn't have the time. Once she was back in the office, back on duty, she had people to save. She had been out of the game for a little over a year, and had to catch up. Relationships took commitment, and attention. Things she couldn’t give to him.

Plus, her body had taken all the damage it could. There wouldn’t be a next time for her. This was her one and only second chance, and she couldn't be selfish with it. She had to give her all for those who needed her help, needed her there to save them.

“As soon as I sign this you will be cleared for active duty again, but make sure you make it to all your doctor appointments, be conscious of your equipment come in if you have any concerns, and stay in teams until you get back into the swing of things, I-we want you to stay safe after all,”

“OK, ok,” she laughs, pushing herself to her feet, “I’ll be careful”

“Please do,” He smiled at her. Her knees felt weak, and she quickly bent down to pack up her things.

The silence stretches over them, something hanging in the that she wasn’t ready to acknowledge.

“Uraraka, I was wondering-”

She quickly cut him off, the air getting to charged, “Thank you Midoriya-san for saving me”

“Saving? Wait Uraraka-”

“I meant what I said,” She smiled sadly at him, “Have a good one, and thank you” She bowed and quickly exited, pretending she didn't see his extended hand, and longing face.

She clacked away at her keyboard, annoyed at being stuck on desk duty after her doctor said she was pushing herself too hard too quickly. She had been back in her office for a month now, how was she going too hard too fast.

Paperwork didn’t distract her like her patrols did. Paperwork was easily over with quickly, too stagnant to keep her thoughts from wandering to a bright smile and intelligent conversations. She groaned, rubbing her eyes.

This is what was best for both of them. She just had to keep telling herself that

“Wow,”

She snapped up to see Tsu standing in her office, hands on her hips. “Why do you do this to yourself Ochako?”

“Tsu, what are you doing here?”

“Your staff was getting frustrated with you, and called me to come fix you up,” She looked behind Tsu, glaring at her staff who all quickly got back to work.

“There’s nothing to fix, but I wouldn’t say no to your company today Tsu,”

“Nope. You don’t get to spend time with me today, you are going to go do what you should have done months ago,”

“No, Tsu,” She put her hands up, trying to stop Tsu’s advances on her desk, “We are not doing that.”

Tsy paused, turned around and shut the door. “Ochako, you are hurting yourself and Midoriya”

She flinched, but maintained her resolve and eye contact with her best friend. “Why wont you do what makes you happy?”

“Because I can’t keep him happy Tsu!” She shouted, frustrated, “I want to ok, but look at me,” She waved her robotic arm around, “This! This will hurt him again, my job will hurt him,”

“You aren’t even giving him the chance to decide that for himself!” Tsu yelled, and she never yelled.

“I’m too busy Tsu, people need me-”

“You have got to slow down! Please! There are thousands of Heroes and even more sidekicks and officers in Japan alone, we help each other. You’re not doing this alone, so can’t you please just find a slice of pure happiness for yourself”

She collapsed in her seat, holding her head in her hands. “Tsu..”

“Ochako, Juzo and I made it work. It’s not easy, I won't lie to you, but we know that at the end of the day we get to come home to each other.”

That wasn’t a guarantee and she knows that both of them know that. It was far too cruel to point out though.

“I don’t know the first thing about being in a relationship Tsu, I’m not built for them,”

“Yes you are,” Tsu ran a hand over her head, “Who knew that this is what would bring the great Uravity to her knees, telling a boy she likes him,”

“Shut up,” But it has no bite, she tries to smile, but Tsu isn’t wrong. This scared her more than anything. The idea of being vulnerable with someone everyday, that was terrifying. Because one thing her parents always told her was, you can’t keep things inside, you have to share them, and she was not good at that.

“You have to at least go see him. It’s killing you”

“It’s not killing me, don’t be dramatic,”

“Ok, it's killing your career, you have incorrectly filed three reports this week alone.”

“Oh my gosh,” She was mortified, dropping her head on her desk.

“You have a good crew out there that cares for you, please help them out and go take care of this,”

She laid there, running her hand along her metallic fingers. The risk was so big, could the pay off truly be that good? Could going forward with this, finally voicing the thing that had been between them for months before her running away really work out ok?

“Fine,”

“Finally, I’ll drive you,”

“Tsu really? Now?”

“Yes really come on let's go,” She marched for the door, “if you don’t get a move on, I’ll drag you out of here with my tongue”

“You won’t have to do that” She pushed away from the desk, grabbing her visor, “I’m going, I’m going”

Tsu didn’t say anything else through the drive, leaving her to prepare herself for what was to come. Traffic was light so it only took them twenty minutes to reach the rehabilitation center. AnD Tsu still didn’t say anything as she sat in the car for another twenty minutes.

“Ochako, if he decides he doesn’t want it, it’ll be closure for you right?”

“That is true,” She continued to sit there.

“You really want this don’t you,” Tsu said gently, taking her hand.

“I really do,” She wished she could feel Tsu’s warm touch.

“Then go get it, nothings stopped you before, you won’t stop yourself now”

She took a deep breath, and moved before she could keep second guessing herself anymore. The receptionist at the front lit up as she entered the building. “Uravity, nice to see you again, what can I do to help?”

“Is Midoriya-kun in? I would like to speak with him about something.”

She grinned at her, “of course, he should be in his office at the moment, would you like me to-”

“No, it’s ok,” She waved her hands at her, the woman quickly putting the phone down, “I’ll surprise him.”

Her eyes lit up, a barely contained smile of pure excitement. She quickly made for the stairs, groaning in embarrassment. Was everyone interested in her love life? Her wreak of a love life.

She knocked gently on his door, cowardly hoping he wasn’t in his office. She heard his voice, so friendly and welcoming, inviting her in. The smile dropped off his face once she opened the door, the files in his hands falling onto the desk.

“Uraraka” Her name a breath on his lips.

“Hey, Midoriya, how have you been?”

He didn’t answer, continuing to look at her like she was a ghost. She cringed, closing the door behind her. She didn’t turn around, waiting for him to say something.

“I didn't think I’d see you again,”

“Yeah, uh that had been the idea”

“Why?” He sounded hurt and angry. Which was fair, she did hurt him by trying not to hurt him. She was starting to think all of this was a mistake, the ache in her heart painful.

“Because…”She took a deep breath, tears threatening to fall, “I can’t be…I won’t be good for you”

She felt him move across the room, hand reaching to her right, pulling the blinds close. Her heart beat so loudly, heat coming off him. She watched his hand move towards her, coming to rest on her shoulder. He turned her around, forcing her to look him in the eyes.

“Why on earth would you think that?” The pain on his face tore through her heart, the tears were thicker now.

“I don’t think I can fully commit myself to you, my job it’s-”

“Been your whole life for years and you're not sure how you can do something besides that.”

“Exactly,” He touched her face, she leaned into it, missing him, his eyes saying everything she had been feeling.

“Izuku, I still don’t know,”

“Hey, we can do this. Together.” He took her metal hand, pulling it close between them, “Just like before.”

“I can’t survive next time, what if-”

“I would rather get to enjoy every moment I can with you now,” He brushed her bangs out of her face, smirking at her, “and you look great in that new uniform by the way,”

She grinned back, “You’re one to talk,” She poked him in the chest, his laugh reverberating through his chest. She looked back up into his eyes, his eyes looking down as he leaned forward. She closed her eyes as his lips connected with hers.

It was warm and felt like home. She felt like she was finally where she was supposed to be, finally having something for herself. Finally giving herself the chance to be selfish. He kissed her three more times, pulling her close, and away from the door.

“Ochako, I’m willing to give this a try,” He leaned his head against hers. “are you?”

“Yeah, yeah I am,”

“I will always be there to catch you, hopefully not literally again,”

“Oh please,” she laughed, slapping him softly on the chest, “you calling me heavy or something,”

“Or something,” He smirked at her, “after all I know you so well,”

She smiled so hard her cheeks hurt, “Yeah, you do, care to tell me even more about yourself? I don’t have a memory quite like yours”

“I could take my lunch now,” He grabbed his jacket habing off the back of his chair, quickly retaking her hand.

“Then what are we waiting for,” She started for the door, “sounds like a date to me”

Notes:

Thank you so much for reading!

I love amputee Deku AU's but thought it would be fun to flip the script and give that role to Ochako instead and give Izuku a really cool job that would work really well with his quirk focused brain. It was fun to try and imagine what adapting to robotic prosthetics would be like, because they always make it look so simplified in Sci-fi media and honestly Miruko adapted way to quickly in the canon but she's a beast like that!

The ending was a little rough there, but I really pushed it to the limit this week lol

Thank you again, and have a wonderful day! 💛
