Work Text:
"Stay still," Lydia whispered.
"I'm trying; tickles," was Allison's reply.
Lydia didn't seem to find it very amusing, judging by the face she gave her. Allison took a deep breath and let it out slowly, watching as the air blew the red strands of hair hanging down and framing Lydia's face. Lydia hummed softly in contemplation and then reached down besides Allison's head for some more makeup.
Allison didn't know how the two of them ended up in the position they were in now, with Allison on the floor of Lydia's room and Lydia straddling her waist, putting on her makeup. Experimenting with it, was the better description Allison mused as Lydia began softly coating her cheek with some blush.
"What color is this one?" She asked, voice not louder than a whisper.
Lydia locked eyes with her and smiled that soft, sweet smile that never failed to make her breath catch in her chest.
"You'll just have to wait to find out, now won't you?" Was the reply she got. Allison squirmed. Lydia expertly adjusted her position on top of her without a blink.
The tickling sensation stopped and Lydia leaned back to expect her work. Allison knew she shouldn't ask, based on all of the answers she had gotten beforehand, but she couldn't help it. "How does it look?"
Lydia blinked, and Allison watched as her long, mascara coated eyelashes brushed against her cheeks. "I think," she whispered, moving forward and leaning down so their faces were mere centimeters apart. "That you need to be a bit more patient," Lydia finished, her lips barely touching Allison's.
Allison swallowed, her throat suddenly dry.
And then the moment was over. Lydia leaned back from her face and put the brush she was using down beside her. While she was looking for a new tool and color to use, Allison was trying her best to control her breathing. The room was very hot, all of a sudden.
With a soft cry of exclamation, Lydia picked up a small brush and began coating it in a color Allison couldn't see. When she was done, Lydia adjusted her position on Allison's hips, getting more comfortable.
"Close your eyes for me," Lydia commanded.
Allison stopped breathing for a second.
"Excuse me?"
Lydia rolled her pretty green eyes. "You heard me, close your eyes," she said more simply this time.
"Okay," was Allison's shaky answer before she hesitantly closed her eyes. Then there was the distinct feeling of a body getting close to hers and then a brush began stroking over her left eyelid. Allison breathed out.
The careful brush strokes were precise, not once did she feel Lydia doubt the movement of her own hand. The only sounds in the room were the white noise of silence buzzing in her ear and Lydia's quiet inhales and exhales. With each of those breaths, Allison could feel the air hitting against her lips. She struggled not to squirm again.
Time passed slowly, and on any other occasion Allison might have fallen asleep, but with Lydia – with Lydia Allison could be awake for as long as she wanted, just spending time in the other's company.
"Okay," Lydia whispered hoarsely. "You can open your eyes now."
Allison opened them.
Lydia was staring right back at her, green eyes wide and focused. Her face was still centimeters apart from hers. The two just stared at each other before Lydia swallowed and broke the tense silence.
"Is there something you wanted to ask me?"
Allison nodded, her breath suddenly ragged.
"Yeah."
She allowed her eyes to dip down to Lydia's lips, covered in pink gloss.
"Kiss me."
