Sidney still could not believe that this was now his home. The entire day, in actuality, seemed like a blur. How could it be only this morning that Charlotte’s hand had been placed in his, making her his for eternity? So much seemed to have happened since then. The wedding breakfast with endless well wishing, Tom spiriting them away to his surprise reveal of their new home, the tour of the house that followed, all of it seemed to take an eternity. Following Tom’s enthusiastic tour, the newlyweds were treated to a picnic basket of snacks that Mary had thoughtfully sent for them. The eldest brother had then seen himself out, reminding the pair that someone would retrieve them for lunch the following day.
Following an early dinner from the picnic, the pair found themselves wandering around their new house, stealing glances and kisses, marveling at their new status in life. Charlotte found herself wondering more and more what it would be like to see her husband without a shirt once more. Images of the cove flashed into her mind, as did the way his hands felt encompassing her waist. She wondered if Sidney had such thoughts? He seemed remarkably reserved thus far, only stealing the occasional kiss. But his eyes betrayed him, seeming to grow darker and darker with every moment that passed.
With an impish grin, Charlotte kicked off her slippers, raising a brow at her new husband. “Sidney, darling?”
“Yes, sweetheart?” he raised a brow.
“How familiar are you with this house?”
“Very,” he smiled fondly. “I spent a good part of my childhood here. Tom and the others did a remarkable job redecorating it, but it is still quite familiar.”
“Well then,” she looked up at him through her lashes, attempting to quell the racing of her heart. “I suppose it would be quite simple for you to….catch me?”
“Catch—ooof,” Sidney was cut off as Charlotte pushed him onto the sofa, her giggles following her as she ran from the room. Righting himself once more, he scrambled to his feet. “You little minx!”
The sound of Charlotte’s laughter and footsteps led him from the parlor into the library, where he just missed his wife as she dove past him from around a bookcase. Racing for the stairs, she just narrowly pulled her skirts from his grasp, shrieking jovially as he closed the distance even more. Charlotte barely reached the landing before he did, running into the master bedroom with only milliseconds to spare. Just as she entered the darkened room, she felt familiar arms wrap around her waist, lifting her up and holding her tight.
“Got you,” Sidney whispered triumphantly, turning her around to face him. Charlotte backed up slightly, finding herself pressed against the now closed door.
She toyed with his lapels, trying to slow her breathing. “Well, what are you going to do with me now?”
Sidney leaned in and captured her lips in a searing kiss, pressing her into the door as he teased a moan from her. After a few moments, he pulled away, breathless. He ran a thumb across her cheek. “Oh the things I wish to do.”
“Well, Mr. Parker,” Charlotte bit her lower lip. In a move that surprised even herself, she pushed both the overcoat and waistcoat off the shoulders of her husband. “I think you’re wearing too many clothes. I have already lost my slippers.”
“That is an excellent point,” Sidney laughed, quickly shedding the jacket and waistcoat before tossing his cravat aside. He watched as his wife’s eyes widened, growling when he saw her trap her lip in her teeth again. He bent to kiss her again. “Don’t bite your lip, Char.”
She kissed him back, gasping as he moved to kiss down the column of her neck. She tilted her head back, shivering as his devious lips moved across her collarbone. “Sid…”
“You are so beautiful, sweetheart,” he grinned against her skin, delighting in the responses he was earning. Gently kissing along the very edge of her gown’s neckline, Sidney tightened his grip on her waist. “Do you trust me, Charlotte?”
Her chocolate brown eyes found his, and she nodded tightly. “Always.”
He cleared his throat and stepped back slightly, turning to look at their darkening room. Golden light streamed in from the windows, indicating the sun was starting to set.
Before he could speak, Charlotte stepped closer to him, kissing his shoulder. “Do you suppose it is too early to retire to bed? We did have an awfully long day…”
“Another excellent point, Mrs. Parker,” Sidney grinned, turning to kiss her forehead. He then gently pulled her in front of him, facing the bed. Slowly, he began to unhook the lacings of her gown. “But, if we are to retire, my love, then I believe it is you who is currently overdressed.”
Charlotte shivered as she felt the outer layer of her gown start to slip down, followed shortly by her stays. Before she knew it, she was left in her shift and stockings, standing in a pile of champagne colored fabric. Sidney swept her hair over one shoulder, pressed hot kisses down the other.
“Go on,” he instructed softly. “Climb onto the bed.”
As she did, he picked up parts of their discarded clothing and laid them over the back of a nearby chair. His boots and socks were lost quickly after, as he moved to crawl onto the bed after his wife.
Before he could, Charlotte propped herself up on her elbows. “Shirt too…”
Sidney laughed at the boldness of his wife, quickly tossing the shirt behind him. “As my lady commands.”
Coming to rest next to Charlotte, propped on his side, he gently caressed the side of her face, frowning at the tension he saw. “We do not have to continue, sweetheart. We have our whole lives together.”
“I want to,” she blushed. “I mean, I… I love you, Sidney, and though I will admit that I am feeling a bit apprehensive, I…I find myself feeling something far more…pressing.”
Sidney gently twirled a curl around his finger, smirking a little as he leaned over her, kissing her forehead. “Is that so my darling? Well, then allow me to tell you a secret. That pressing feeling you’re having?”
Charlotte hummed softly, nodding as Sidney gently kissed down her neck. She allowed her hands to wander, tracing up his shoulders and tangling in his dark curls.
“That,” he continued to softly kiss and lick her pulse point, grinning as she arched against him. “Is the power you hold over me too, sweetheart. I have never felt such desire, such wanting as I do for you. I wish to spend days on end just laying here, loving every inch of you, making you entirely mine. I love you, Charlotte Parker.”
She gently tugged him up so they were eye level once more, missing him deeply. “I love you too, Sidney Parker. And I wish to be entirely yours, and to make you entirely mine.”
He kissed her back, rolling a bit more on top of her, his hands slowly tracing heated paths up the tops of her thighs. A distant part of Charlotte realized that her shift was bunching in his grasp, sliding up to reveal her milky pale skin. She felt as though she was on fire, every kiss or touch Sidney placed on her skin leaving another lick of flame. In a sudden boldness that surprised herself, Charlotte tugged her shift over her head, tossing it carelessly off of the bed.
In the golden rays that graced the room, Sidney caught the blush that began to crawl across his wife’s beautiful frame. He could see the tension begin to return.
“You are gorgeous, Charlotte,” he whispered breathlessly, leaning to softly kiss between her breasts, towards her navel. She shivered and traced down the planes of his shoulders.
Sidney pressed soft kisses back up towards Charlotte’s neck, his hand slowly moving to encompass one of her soft breasts, earning a breathy moan that he was suddenly desperate to repeat. Charlotte had a similar idea, and suddenly pressed hot kisses down her husband’s neck, attempting to mimic his previous actions.
“Christ Charlotte,” he groaned, head falling down to lean on her shoulder. She took that as encouragement and licked his collarbone, earning another moan from her husband.
They became lost in one another, their only communication turning into kisses and heated touches. Their remaining clothes disappeared as the fire Charlotte had felt consumed them. Any shyness she had felt earlier evaporated as the sudden need for something overwhelmed her. It wasn’t something she could name but she was certain Sidney would provide it.
“Please,” she moaned, her hips instinctively bucking as his warm hand trailed down to cup her center.
With a knowing smirk, Sidney sucked gently on her pressure point, slipping a finger to stretch her slick heat. He whispered encouragingly in her ear as he teased her to the release she didn’t know she was chasing.
“That’s it, sweetheart,” he said huskily. As she arched beneath him, muscles trembling, he positioned himself at her entrance. “This may hurt, love, I’m sorry.”
Charlotte kissed his chest shakily in response, hugging him closer as he slowly seated himself within her. She winced at the sudden sharp pain, a few errant tears escaping her lashes.
Sidney kissed the tears, holding her close. “I’m sorry, sweetheart.”
After a moment, she slowly rocked against him, relaxing as the pain diminished, giving way to a building sense of pleasure. Together, they found a rhythm, her legs coming to tangle with his, pulling each other close as they sought mutual ecstasy. Charlotte felt herself coiling on the edge of release once more, tightening as her husband’s muscles grew tense above her.
Leaning up to softly suck on his earlobe, Charlotte whispered breathily. “I love you, Sidney Parker.”
“Oh Charlotte,” he grunted, slipping a hand between them to thumb her sensitive pearl.
Like a rubber band snapping, she felt herself release, overwhelmed by toe curling pleasure. She pulled him closer, burying her face in his neck as she cried his name. One small foot locked around the back of his calf, her hands sluggishly reaching for his. Caught in the wave of her ecstasy, Sidney gave into his own, moaning her name as he allowed his head to sink to the pillow, one hand finally grasping Charlotte’s.
They lay tangled together, each trembling with the exertion of their lovemaking, sleepily pressing kisses to whether skin they could reach.
Charlotte trailed delicate fingers along Sidney’s broad shoulders, soothing the shaking muscles and pulling him to lay atop her.
“Char,” he half protested. “‘M heavy sweetheart.”
“Shhh,” she ignored him, running one hand through his curls. “Need you close.”
After a moment, he reluctantly pulled away, cleaning them up slightly and maneuvering them under the bedclothes. Charlotte tugged him back towards her, recapturing his hand.
Sidney acquiesced, though he shifted to lay somewhat beside her, sleepily kissing the crown of her head. “I love you, Charlotte. With absolutely everything I have.”
“Love you too,” she promised, kissing the hand she held. Blinking sluggishly up at her new husband, she smiled. “You’re mine forever.”
“And ever,” he promised, tucking her into his embrace. “Get some sleep sweetheart. I’m not going anywhere.”
