Hey guys! connoisseuroftheunexplained here back with yet another post. Yes, another one. I know this is the second today. Oh well, content is content. So recently somebody on my Tumblr asked me to do a post about what happened at Hawkins, IN. Before doing my research, I actually hadn’t heard of this small town before. I think most of you haven’t either. But what I found is really interesting, so make sure to follow this blog!
Anyways, here’s a rundown or strange occurrences. In November of 1983, this 12-year old kid named Will Byers goes missing. Interesting in such a small town, but not that strange. What’s weird is what happened afterwards. So there was this huge search party and everything but they couldn’t find him. Eventually, his body turned up, and the case was closed. His mom was apparently acting really schizophrenic after that and kept insisting he was alive, which is unusual, but still pretty normal so far.
But then he just…turned up? Like he was dead one day and in the hospital the next. Apparently the police chief and his mom found him, and that went unexplained. He seemed fine afterwards and nobody really knew what happened.
If you’ve read anything of mine before, you probably know where this is going. And you’d be right. It’s definitely something supernatural. Because although Will’s dissapearence is the most well-known, there were other disappearances too. 16 year-old Barbara Holland as well as two unnamed hunters were never found.
Barbara’s friend, Nancy Wheeler, reported seeing a “bear-like creature” where Barbara went missing the police ignored her claims. And so I’m saying that this “bear” is actually something supernatural. Why? Well there were other things too. Will reportedly started experiencing hallucinations about a year after he came back. It was brushed off because his family has a history of mental illness, but there’s something more than that here…
And two years after the original events, a huge portion of the town just…died. Without any reason. And strange behavior was reported beforehand, like eating rat poison (!!!) or fertilizer. And I haven’t even mentioned the fact that on the night these people all died, they seemed to be heading a destination, not aware of their surroundings.
All of this points to some sort of mind controlling creature. I believe it uses this “bear-like creature”, actually a former victim, to take them into some sort of pocket dimension, mind control them, and later turn them into another one of these creatures.
But you’re probably screaming at your computer right now. What about Will Byers? Well, I think he’s the exception. He was saved by his mother and the police chief. Did I mention the body found was a fake? Well, that’s because it was a government coverup.
I haven’t even told you guys that there’s a government lab in Hawkins. And apparently they did some really shady experiments back in the day. So I think they created these creatures, and pretended this kid was dead to cover up what they had accidentally done.
And heck, the government might have even experimented on Will too! His father worked at the lab, and apparently his father would take him away for extended periods of time when he was young. He was taking him to the lab. That’s why he survived when nobody else did.
So yeah, that’s my theory. Make fun of it all you want but it’s what makes the most logical sense. Anyways, see you next time! connoisseuroftheunexplained, signing out.
