Kel, Aubrey, Hero, Basil, and Sunny sat together in the sun, bathed by it’s warm light and surrounded by trees that made a shuffling noise with the wind. They were all enjoying the afternoon, as they reminisced on memories that they thought had gotten lost with the past.
“Hey, you two… Remember when Mari gave you guys your first kiss?” Hero smirked a bit, heart throbbing as he thought of Mari and her mischievousness. Kel took a second, as the memory quickly came to his mind. It was hard to forget.
“First kiss? That wasn’t our first!” He pointed out, as a few other times came to his mind.
“How could I forget?” Aubrey sighed, laughing lightly as she fell back onto the picnic blanket, moving her faded pink bangs from her face.
“Wait, that wasn’t your guys’ first kiss?” Basil chimed in, and even Sunny perked up a bit at this question.
“Unfortunately no. Even more unfortunately…” Aubrey rubbed a hand down her face, feeling her cheeks grow a bit warm.
“Our first kiss was still with one another.” Kel chuckled a bit at the thought, rubbing the back of his neck.
“What?! Really?!” Both Basil and Hero exclaimed in shock, and though Sunny hadn’t spoke, his expression shone as if he had said the same thing.
“We’ve kissed like… uh, 4 times…?” Kel was a bit embarrassed, his own face flushing as he thought of the dumb crushes he and Aubrey had on each other as kids and that were definitely not still there.
“5 times.” Aubrey spoke out, and then immediately seemed to regret it.
“5? I only remember 4?” Kel questioned, and Aubrey sighed as she put both hands on her face.
“Y-yeah, that’s because-“
“Wait wait wait wait wait!- I wanna hear about your guys’ first kiss!” Basil’s eyes sparkled, like a fan who’s ship had just sailed. “And all the other ones!! Please?”
“I mean, I guess it was in the past…” Aubrey mumbled, it was embarrassing, but they should just look back on it and laugh, right? It’s not like any feelings even remained… right???
“Our first kiss was actually pretty stupid…” Kel smiled weakly, as Aubrey sat up.
“Yeah, you were pretty stupid.” Aubrey deadpanned, and Kel let out a little ‘hey!’ before she started to tell the story…
[1] ; Stolen Nutrition, Stolen Heart
Aubrey sat at the dinner table, eyes blankly staring at the plate before her as her stomach growled with disgust at the sight. She knew she had to finish the salad Hero had made her, it was the polite thing to do, but every second her eyes kept themselves fixated on her greens the more she didn’t want to. Her ears perk up at the sound of loud crunching, as she looks to her side and watched Kel down his own salad in seconds. She sighs with a roll of her eyes, silently envying the way he could consume any food without remorse, and quickly too.
Her gaze returns once more to her salad, and she gulps and moves her fork to take a bite.
“You two still hungry?” Hero interrupts, and is quickly responded to with different answers.
“Yes!”
“No!”
“Got’cha, another plate comin’ up for Kelsey!” Hero smiles, and in return is greeted with an annoyed exclamation of his name. Aubrey looks back to the bit of salad on her plate and the bite sized portion now on her fork, and reluctantly puts it up to her mouth. She bites it off of the fork, it was a big bite, half of it barely fit in her mouth as she tried to chew.
Kel was about to shift off his seat, when he saw Aubrey’s struggles. He snickered lightly at her expression, how she refused to swallow down any more of her salad because of her dislike for it. In an instant, his mind came up with an idea… to help her out, per say. He smiles, as he turns himself ever so slightly towards her. He taps his hands a bit to get Aubrey’s attention, and as if determined by fate, it works, taking no more then a second. First her gaze turns to him, and then her head a bit. And that’s when he strikes- Swiftly, he leans forward and bites down on the salad that still stuck out of her mouth. Aubrey jolts in surprise, their lips meeting each other for a few seconds, before the Mexican boy pulls away chewing and swallowing down the others salad and laughing along with it. Hero from the counter looks back for a moment, the commotion catching his attention but only for a second as he shifts back to making more food. Aubrey merely stares for a few moments in shock, her face warming up and growing into a shade of hot pink.
“K-Kel…???” Her voice is light and confused, not sure how to feel about what had just happened. In response he sticks out his tongue, giggling.
“Did I surprise ya and save ya? You clearly didn’t want that salad so it’s mine nowww!” He laughs once more, and Aubrey scrunches up her nose, getting ticked off.
“You just- do you not realize- Ugh, you’re so DUMB!” Aubrey puts her hands on her cheeks, and Kel looks at her with a raised brow, pursing his lips.
“It was just a joke, geez! You didn’t even like the salad, what are you fussing-“ His complaining comes to a close, as he watched the way Aubrey’s fingers come to her lips and softly brush against them. “-…about…” His mind is slowly overcome with realization, and his face overcome with a cherry blush. He quickly puts both of his hands over his mouth in his shock, and then slowly pulls them away right after. “I- I…” He’s at loss for words, and in curiosity Hero turns to them both.
“You two are quiet all of a sudden, what happened? What’d the salad do?” He questions half joking, and is met with two silent red faced dorks. “Guys…??”
“I- I think imma go uh- our room… real quick… Yeah.” Kel rushes out of there as quick as he can, disappearing into the next room in a flash. Aubrey sits there for a moment, pushing her salad to the side.
“S-sorry Hero, I think i’m full.” She smiles softly, getting down from her chair and going to the living room.
“Well that’s odd.” Hero hums.

“…That was actually our first kiss.” Kel chuckled, and Aubrey flicked his head.
“That’s not hard to believe…” Hero chuckled, sweat dropping down his forehead. Basil’s smile was wide as he giggled at the thought.
“That’s a very little-Kel thing to do, honestly.” Basil spoke lightheartedly, and Sunny nodded in agreement.
“Yeah, stupid as fuck.”
“AUBREY YOU BI-“
“Anywaayyy..” Aubrey put a hand in his face. “The Mari one was actually our second one.”
“Let me tell this one, I do tell it best.” Hero stuck his tongue out playfully, and Kel and Aubrey both sighed in embarrassment.
“Yeah, go on…”
[2] ; One Girls Mischief
“You started it!”
“No you did, dummy! Blehhh!” Aubrey and Kel are bickering again, as per usual, Aubrey sticking her tongue out as Kel puffs his cheeks.
“Alright, what’s the matter you two?” Hero sighs, smiling softly at their childish antics, as he finishes up everyone else’s sandwiches and places them on the picnic blanket. Quickly everyone began to dig in, but Aubrey and Kel were too distracted with one another.
“Kel started poking my cheeks so I started squishing his, and then he started squeezing my cheeks so I grabbed his waist- And well, yeah!” Aubrey explains in frantic annoyance, as Kel crosses his arms.
“Kel…”
“She started it with the squishing! I was just uh- it was a soft poke!” Kel tried to explain himself, “P-plus she squeezed my waist, and that’s like, super ticklish!”
“I know, we heard you squeak.” Mari giggles softly, and Kel just blushes in embarrassment and anger. Aubrey covers her mouth and looks away, hiding a smile and letting out muffled giggles as she recalls his little noise. It was kind of cute.
“Hey!” Kel pouts at her.
“It was funny- You were all like ‘Eep!’ and it was so high pitched- Pfft-“ Aubrey can’t help it as she laughs, and with that he tugs at her hair, not enough to hurt, but enough to make her squeak as well, except it was far more a yelp, as she turned to face him and growled. “Don’t pull my hair!!!”
“Don’t laugh at me!!!” They put their foreheads together, both finding the other extremely annoying, as they puff out their cheeks and start a staring contest with one another. Mari’s mouth turns up into a smirk, giggling softly. Everyone’s head’s except for Aubrey and Kel’s immediately snap towards Mari. They recognized that laugh, and that face, it meant she had a mischievous idea. And most of the time, when she had an idea like so, she’d act upon it.
“M-Mari-“ Both Basil and Hero worriedly spoke in unison, a sweat dropping down Sunny’s forehead as they stared. But it was too late, Mari put both her hands on Kel and Aubrey’s heads, and before they could react, softly pushed them together. For a split second their lips connected, before they quickly pulled apart from each other in shock. Aubrey gasped and Kel made another squeak, both their hearts racing 100 miles a minute, their faces warming up and turning a deep red color.
“MARI!!!” Both of them shrieked, snapping their heads towards her as she fell into a fit of giggles. Basil and Hero both stared in their own shock for a moment, before they couldn’t help but laugh as well. Sunny almost seemed to have no reaction, but if you looked hard enough you could see his mouth just barely quirked up in a smug smile.
Kel and Aubrey both glanced at each other, but quickly jerked their heads away. Aubrey’s heart pounded in her chest, putting her hands over her face as she bit her lip in embarrassment and some other strange, warm feeling. Kel’s eyes were staring at the blanket, as he placed both of his hands on his cheeks, they were warm to the touch. He whined softly at the flurry of really annoying feelings he was feeling at the moment, shooting Mari a small glare, and everyone else too because of their giggles and laughter.
‘They’re all so annoying!’ They both thought in unison.

“…Mari always knew how to lighten the mood…” Hero smiled weakly, his eyes looking down at the picnic blanket. They were all silent for a moment, before Aubrey chuckled softly.
“She really did.. As much as I hate her for that moment, I loved her for it, too…” Aubrey’s eyes gleamed with a look of sadness for a second, before she quickly felt her cheeks warm up. “Love her f-for being smug, and funny, and stuff, I mean!”
“Oooh?~” Kel teased, preparing himself to make a run for it in fear of her aggression.
“Shut it!” Aubrey growled, as she ruffled Kel’s hair roughly, him laughing as he failed to resist her attacks. Basil and Sunny both smiled lightly.
“What about those last 3 times?” Basil hummed with interest, he was a big Kelbrey shipper, wasn’t he? That little-
“Oh yeah, the next one’s pretty stupid too…” Aubrey giggles, as Kel eagerly takes the chance to recall this one…
[3] ; A Quarrel Between a Bug and a Fawn
Kel and Aubrey sat atop of their treehouse, calmly observing their surroundings. This was one of the few times they seemed to be at peace with each other, and one of the few times they seemed to be alone, too. The sun was setting, creating a beautiful atmosphere as the light hit the trees before them just right, the silhouettes of birds flying through the sky plentiful, the sounds of chirps and quacks and crickets making their presence known softly flowed through the air. Kel’s grin was wide as he enjoyed the energy around them, admiring all the scenery from the window of the treehouse with great awe.
Aubrey, too, was enjoying the atmosphere as she felt her eyes move with every sound she heard and movement she spotted. Occasionally the two would point something out to the other that they found especially interesting, Kel currently doing so as he saw a bird in the sky that seemed far larger then the others. “Look, look!” He pointed too the sky, scooting closer so that their shoulders touch and he was closer to the vicinity of Aubrey’s vision, so he could try to point to the right place. Aubrey looked over and her eyes lit up at the sight. It was a hawk, far different from the ducks they had been seeing, soaring through the air with a powerful presence that Aubrey admired.
“Wow…” She beamed, her expression glistening with complete and utter fascination as Kel smiled in triumph at his lucky find, his expression growing even more proud as he took in Aubrey’s reaction. Lucky of him to catch such a great sight, as soon it flew out of view. Aubrey giggled softly as she went back to looking around, Kel doing the same as there was some silence for a while.
Then, Kel heard a soft buzzing sound as he moved his head from side to side and caught sight of a beetle flying through the treehouse’s door, it’s wings shone with a pretty luminescent green color as it landed on the wall beside him.
Meanwhile, Aubrey’s eyes latched onto a dark figure moving through the trees, raising an eyebrow as she squinted and kept it in sight, watching it slowly come into better view. She gasped softly as it revealed itself, it was a deer, with pretty brown fur and white fur along it’s stomach and muzzle, some spots on it’s back as it seemed to have a bit trouble walking.
“Aubrey,”
“Kel,”
“Look!” They both spoke in unison, and upon hearing the mention of each others name’s their heads start to turn.
“Huh?-“
“Wha-“
And within a matter of seconds, their lips meet each others, and they stay there for a good second, before they slowly pull apart, not exactly realizing what had happened too quick, both of their eyes gleaming with a newfound type of admiration.
“Did you just…?” Kel spoke, breathless.
“I-I did…” Aubrey mumbles softly, blinking at him as things start to register.
“Again?! I kissed you again?!” Kel exclaims, his face heating up as he looks away.
“You did.” Aubrey still seems to be in a daze, before she shakes her head and her cheeks get warm. “AH! YOU DID!”
“N-no it was you! You kissed me, weirdo!”
“N-NUH-UH!! You turned your head, you kissed me!”
“Did NOT!”
“Did TOO!”
“Shut up, dummy!”
“You shut up, butthead!” They both pout at each other, their moment of peace had ended, both of them staring at each other in a bit of angry silence.
“I j-just wanted to show you that baby deer..” Aubrey pointed downwards at the grass, and Kel turned his head slowly towards it, smiling at the way it stumbled, giggling. “It reminded of you because it’s clumsy.. And cute-.. dumb. Clumsy and dumb.” She huffed.
“Hey!!!” Kel snickered slightly, okay maybe it was kind of funny, his face cooling off as he turned to the bug still planted on the wall. “Look, I wanted to show you this cool bug.” Aubrey looked over and gasped a bit, it was a very pretty beetle. “Funnily enough it reminded me of you, too. Because it’s tough and-“ ‘Pretty.’ His mind told him. “-scary.”
“I’m not scary!!!” Aubrey tackled him, and they both fell into fits of laughter.

“Awwwwwww!” Hero and Basil both cooed at them and Aubrey was on the verge of bonking them both with a bat. Kel pouted, giving them both a look of betrayal.
A soft, small laugh was heard.
“SUNNY?!” The four of them shouted, their heads jerking towards him in complete shock. Sunny blushed softly and waved his hand dismissively, covering his mouth. Basil swore he felt his heart skip a beat.
“E-even Sun thought it was cute…” Basil spoke, though he seemed a bit breathless.
“A-anywho, let’s move on- Uhm… this one is the one you don’t remember, Kel…” Aubrey felt her face grow hot as she thought about it, and he raised a brow.
“Oh do go on!” Kel smirked, and she took a deep breath…
[4] ; Sleeping Beauty
Aubrey sighed blissfully, the soft breeze brushing against her face as she smiled. It was a comfortable afternoon, she and Kel had ran not too far into the forest (not wanting to get lost like last time), both laying against a thick tree.
“Kel?” Aubrey hummed softly, turning over to look at him only to see he was fast asleep. She stared at him for a moment, watching his slow peaceful breathing, his eyelashes long and pretty, his face warm, and his lips curved up in a small smile… His lips looked soft, she knew, she’d felt them three times before. Her heart skipped a beat at the thought. She’d never really dwelled on those kisses much, now that she thought about it. In fact, looking at him now she seemed to understand how pretty he was, taking a moment and admiring him for the first time in a while.
Her face lit up, and her stomach swirled, heart fluttering as if it were made of butterflies that would burst at any moment. His head tilted slightly in his sleep, letting out soft snores as he landed on her shoulder. Her heart leaped as she was overcome with a feeling of warmth, a feeling she liked… Her face contorted in confusion, as she leaned in an inspected him closer. He was so irritable, making her feel so weird, and yet it almost seemed like he was pulling her in. She leaned in further, and she thought she heard him shift, as she stopped for a moment.
She was so close. Should she really do this…? She wanted to. She really really wanted to… The slight flush on her face darkened as she decided to go through with it, coming closer and closer til’ their noses were touching.
“Huh… Au….?” A soft voice spilled out from a sleepy boy, but it was silenced as Aubrey connected their lips, her eyes shut as she kept her lips there for a moment, Kel’s eyes half lidded as he wasn’t exactly sure what was going on, Aubrey pulling away from him slowly, eyes opening with a pink color spread across her face. And then she saw him, and his eyes. “Auuubs… wazzup? What’d you just do?” He mumbled, rubbing his eyes and yawning. Aubrey only froze for a second, taking a moment to process her shock, before squealing and turning the opposite direction.
“I DIDN’T DO IT I DIDN’T DO IT!!!!” She yelped covering her face and screaming into her hands. She had never been more in shock with herself, finding it hard to believe what she just did.
“Haha… you totally did.. what’d you do exactly…?” Kel yawned again, sleep threatening to take over him again.
“S-shut up, Kel!”
“Oh myyy Aubrey~” Hero cooed, and god Aubrey was on the brink of HITTING THEM ALL- her face was cherry red from complete embarrassment. She glanced at Kel, who she expected to be teasing her too, only for him to be silent. His face was warm, and the moment she looked at him he glanced away. His heart was racing in his chest.
“You… did that?” He questioned softly. Basil smirked.
“Y-Yeah. Aren’t you gonna make fun of me for it?”
“…Yeah. And you claim I was t-the one who thought YOU were cute…” He cursed himself for stuttering, but still managed to shoot her a teasing glance. Aubrey just responded with a smirk of her own.
“And what about the last kiss we shared?” She hummed, and Kel opened his mouth to retort, but found no words in his mouth, as he sighed…
[5] ; Me too, please?
Aubrey hums excitedly, staring at the TV with wide, bright eyes, kicking her legs slightly. Occasionally she’ll glance to the side at Kel, who’s wearing the same starstruck expression as she is as he watches the TV with her. “Woah, woah! Look at him! He’s the coolest!” Kel beamed, excitedly shaking Aubrey as she laughed at him, though enjoying the show just as much. Hero’s laugh could be heard as he walked towards them, smiling as he ruffled Kel’s hair and took out Aubrey’s bow, gently placing it on the coffee table behind them.
“You guys watching Captain Spaceboy again?” He asked, though he already knew the answer.
“Duh, it’s like, the coolest show ever!!!” Kel exclaims, patting his hair a few times in a measly attempt to fix it, as his eyes were glued to the screen.
“It’s not that bad I guess…” Aubrey smiled, to be honest with herself it was one of her favorite shows. She found it funny, that fact, especially since she associated it with Kel. Hero grinned at them both.
“Normally this would be bedtime but since you guys are having a sleepover, i’ll let you stay up for another hour. Make sure you turn the TV off when your done, okay you guys?” He gave them both a noogie, pulling them in for a hug whilst they both giggled.
“Okay!” Aubrey hummed.
“Finneee…” Kel smirked a bit. Hero pulls apart from Aubrey but keeps Kel in his arms, squeezing him tight and kissing his cheeks, squishing his face and showering him in affection.
“Aghh, Herooo…!” Kel groans, but cant help it as he laughs a bit, putting a hand in his older brother’s face. Aubrey smiles at the sight, she saw this often but it never failed to be amusing.
“Can IIII get a kiss?” Hero hummed, and Kel looked at him dumbfounded.
“Why are you asking? You just gave me, like, 50!” Kel pouted and Hero laughed.
“Yeah, but you didn’t kiss me at all…” Hero squeezed his brother tighter, and Kel just looked at him with a deadpan.
“Why should I?” Kel stuck his tongue out.
“Pleaseee?” Hero let him free from his grasp, and Kel sighed as if this were such a struggle, before tackling his brother with a smirk and giving him all the cheek-kisses he could ever ask for. “Ack!-“ Hero yelped, but it was overshadowed by laughs and snickers. “Okay, okay, enough!” He giggled, and Kel pulled away slowly with a smile. Aubrey watched this whole scene, laughing herself, as she thought about how playfully affectionate that was. She’d never really seen Kel give any affection, other then random surprise hugs that, most of time, she was the victim of. And as much as she loved them, she was afraid he was gonna give her a heart attack one day.
“Now can I get a blanket so I can finish this episode???” Kel pleaded, and Hero snickered, getting up and complying.
“Sure, sure.” He retorted, grabbing a blanket from the closet and throwing it at him, leading to more giggles from Kel as he fell over, almost toppling Aubrey.
“Hey!” Aubrey hmphed a bit at Kel, and he just laughed some more.
“Sorry, Princess!” He stuck his tongue out, and Aubrey’s cheeks turned the color of ripe cherries as she covered his face with the blanket.
“Alright, goodnight you two. I love you both.”
“Goodnight! Love you too!!” Both Kel and Aubrey spoke in unison, Kel sitting up and squishing together with Aubs, giving her one half of the fluffy blanket. She giggled, wrapping one end around her whilst Kel wrapped the other end around himself. They smiled, and Aubrey stared at Kel, and he found himself staring back.
“Whazzup?” Kel tilted his head a bit, pursing his lips.
“I never seen you willingly give someone kisses before.” Aubrey had spoken without much thought, and Kel blushed as he felt a warm rush embarrassment.
“I don’t usually kiss anybody!!! Hero’s just my brother, so of course I kiss him.” Kel spoke matter-of-factly, and Aubrey just laughed at his expression.
“Have you ever wanted to kiss anybody?” Aubrey blurted out in the heat of the moment. “Like, a-anyone that’s not Hero, I mean…” Kel thought for a second, and his eyes averted from Aubrey’s as he shook his head lightly.
“N-no, never! Why would I want to?” He lied, and Aubrey frowned ever so slightly, but quickly that expression faded as her eyes shone with determination.
“Look me in the eye. Are you sureee?” She smiled as Kel met her intense gaze, a lot more intense then expected as his face contorted in even more embarrassment as he squeaked out the first reply he could muster.
“W-why do you wanna know, huh?!?”
“Because I’ve wanted to kiss you.” Is what came out of her mouth, in a moment of raw unprecedented confidence. Kel squeaked, and she swore she could hear his heart pound, and with that she was broken out of her determined trance. “I-I mean!!-“
“Me too, okay, w-whatever!!” Kel stuck his tongue out at her, hating how much she’d just made him flush, looking to the side with pursed lips and an ‘annoyed’, totally not flustered, look on his face. Aubrey cupped her cheeks with a gasp. She blinked, and came up with her next question.
“Then… can I get a kiss, too, please?” She spoke softly but confidently, and he turned to meet her gaze with shy eyes. “H-here.” She guided a shaky hand towards her mouth, planting two fingers on her lips. He swear he felt his heart spring into the air, butterflies swarming his stomach, his whole body warm with an overwhelming feeling. He wanted to say no, he wanted to call her dumb and stupid and crazy- he wanted to not want this. But he did. He wanted to kiss her so so bad.
So without an answer, he leaned in and pressed his lips against hers with slight vigor, face warm and painted apple red, Aubrey’s eyes fluttering shut. She savored every second, and when he pulled away she pressed her lips against his even harder. Kel somehow seemed to take this as some sort of competition, leaning into her as they continued their warm little kiss, until she fell back and into a fit of laughter. “You really did wanna kiss me, huh?” She spoke in a teasing tone, yet her voice shaky with a lovestruck feeling that filled her heart up so much it might explode.
“Y-you asked!” He put a hand in her face. “You wanted to kiss me, ewww!” He stuck his tongue out, as if they didn’t just share a kiss 5 seconds ago.
“Oh be quiet!”

“How are you two not dating yet?” Basil blurted out, and they both looked at him with the biggest look of surprise, eyes so wide they might pop out.
“WHAT?!” They both shrieked, and he had to muffle his laughter.
“You mean to tell me you don’t think that was more then just some ‘childish crush’?” Basil cooed, and Sunny smirked along side him. “Plus, isn’t that technically 6? Pulled away once, and then went back for more..”
“SH-SHUT- Basil I swear to god!- You are so dead!“ Aubrey’s face was warm, not sure whether it was more anger or embarrassment. Kel was at a loss for words. Then, both he and Aubrey, almost as if they were connected for one slight moment, crossed their arms in unison and flicked their heads to the opposite sides.
“You’re all annoying. All of you.” They both said.
