Work Text:
Saki woke up to find her body entwined with Icchan’s and her hands in that gorgeous black hair that almost looked blue when light shined on it in a certain way.
Nothing better than this. Just a lazy Saturday morning wrapped around the prettiest girl in the world.
She was still asleep, and Saki wanted her to stay that way a bit longer. She was so pretty like this.
Ichika could just take her breath away. Her name was as pretty as she was, even though Saki barely used it.
Until she heard her parents knock on the door. Fuck. She snuck Icchan in last night.
“M-Morning!” She yelled, and Icchan’s eyes fluttered open.
“Mm… Sak-?!”
Saki muffled Icchan’s mouth with her hands. Okay, this was going to be fine! She just had to keep Icchan hidden from her parents and brothers until she could sneak her out! That’ll be fine!
~
Tsukasa woke up to his hands in surprisingly soft purple and blue hair and to gorgeous golden eyes looking up at him.
“Morning, my star.” Rui whispered. Always the flirt, even at this time of the morning.
He felt Rui bury his face in his chest again, and he sighed.
What could be better than this? A lazy Saturday morning with his dear director.
“Good morning, Rui.”
And then a knock on his door.
Oh, dear god. He’d snuck Rui in last night.
Okay, he’d just have to sneak him back out! A daring escape!
…He hoped things didn’t go too wrong.
~
Toya woke up to soft fingers tracing patterns on his skin.
A soft laugh, and he looked up to see where it came from.
Right. Akito had snuck in last night.
“Sorry, did I wake you?” The ginger whispered, his fingers still dancing around under Toya’s shirt.
“Yes, but it’s fine.”
Toya let out a pleased sigh before he continued speaking.
“Please, just keep doing that.”
God, he craved Akito’s touch. No one had ever touched him that much before. Sure, the Tenmas were physically affectionate, but that’s not much when you rarely see them due to… literally everything that was going on in all their lives. And of course, his parents never really gave him the kind of physical affection he craved. So Akito’s casual affection had always driven him crazy.
And it had only gotten better once they’d started dating.
Akito let out another laugh before he buried his face in Toya’s shoulder and planted a soft kiss there.
“Of course, partner.”
There’s no way in hell they’re getting up right now.
Until he heard the Tenma parents knock on the door.
“Toya? Are you still here?”
Oh, fuck.
He quickly agreed, and he heard their footsteps retreat after they mentioned something about breakfast being ready.
God, Akito doing stupid things like sneaking into his room at three in the morning was going to be the death of him.
~
Saki walked out of her room after running a brush through her hair. Just gotta get through breakfast without anyone finding out. This’ll be easy!
Tsukasa appeared from his room, and then Toya appeared from his. She thought he’d gone back last night, guess not.
She did hear some kind of scrambling from the window, though… she wonders what that was. Probably Tsukasa, now that she thinks about it. Toya’s still deathly afraid of heights.
She still remembers the first time they took him to that mall with the transparent glass floor on the second story. He’d clung onto Tsukasa’s arm so hard that it left scars.
Whatever, she can’t focus on that right now. She’s gotta get downstairs and rush through breakfast!
She and her brothers bolted downstairs. Was she projecting, or were they nervous too?
Probably projecting. She was super nervous right now.
~
Ichika took a deep breath as the sound of footsteps disappeared down the stairs.
She wrapped her hands around Saki’s doorframe, and looked outside.
Oh god, someone’s there! She rushed back in and panicked.
“Ichika?” She heard someone whisper.
Wait. She knew that voice.
“…Akito-kun?”
“Yeah. You too, huh?”
“Looks like all three of us are in the same boat.” Another familiar voice said.
Rui too? Holy…
She poked her head out of the door again and locked eyes with the two boys who were also definitely not supposed to be here.
“Oh god, not you too.” Akito added. “Could this get any worse?”
She heard a meowing sound, and Akito’s voice immediately rose an entire octave.
“Hey there, gorgeous. What are you doing up?”
“Is that… a cat? I didn’t know they had one.” Rui muttered, and Ichika nodded.
Akito popped his head back out of the room again, this time holding a black cat.
“They don’t. It’s Toya’s, sometimes he brings her along when he comes from his place. And she stays over with Ena and I too, sometimes.”
“She’s cute.” Ichika said. “It’s nice to meet you… oh, what’s her name?”
“Keiko.”
“Okay. It’s nice to meet you, Keiko.”
Ichika reached out a hand to pet the cat, and she was surprised at how soft her fur was.
Rui also nodded, and he reached out a hand, but Akito pulled her away.
“Stay back, weirdo.”
“Do you think that little of me, Aki-kun?”
Akito sighed.
“…Fine. But if you hurt her, you’re dying.”
“Of course not!”
Rui gave Keiko a couple of little pats and a smile before returning to business.
“So, we should probably try to find a way out of here. How about the window?”
“I tried, it’s too windy to get to the trees. The branches keep blowing away before I can get to em.”
“Oh dear. Ichika-chan, how’d you get in?”
“Front door after everyone else was asleep.” Ichika said.
“That’s clearly out of the question, then. I’d suggest Wonderhoying out the window, but…”
“That’s insane and also it’d be way too loud.” Akito added, his eyes narrowing.
“Ah, insanity is simply the fool’s way of seeing genius.”
“How the hell’d you get in, then?”
Rui gave a catlike smirk which only seemed to infuriate Akito more.
“That’s my little secret, Aki-kun~”
“How many goddamn times have I told you-”
Rui leaned back slightly as he let out a soft chuckle, but he accidentally knocked a picture frame off the wall.
“Oh no.” Rui said.
“Oh god.” Ichika added.
“Oh fuck.” Akito finished.
“What was that?” Saki’s mother said from downstairs.
“Ah, Keiko must have knocked something over. I’ll check.” Toya said, and footsteps ran up the stairs.
He appeared in front of them and spoke again.
“Akito, what the he- Oh, you have got to be kidding me.”
Toya shook his head after seeing them, with an expression that Ichika couldn’t read on his face.
“Seriously? Saki and Tsukasa-senpai snuck you guys in too?”
Ichika could only nod, but she felt Rui give a smirk from behind her.
“Oh, how naughty of all of you~ All three Tenma Siblings sneaking their partners into the house in the middle of the night? What a time we all must have had.”
She saw Akito roll his eyes so hard that she was scared they’d pop out of his head.
“Listen, you should just get back downstairs and try to signal to Tsukasa-senpai and Saki that we’re also here. And take Keiko down with you. She looks hungry.”
Toya softly took the cat from Akito’s arms and shook his head.
“Sometimes I don’t know whether you’re dating me because you love me or because you love Keiko.”
“I can love you both!”
Toya leaned down slightly to plant a kiss on Akito’s lips before rushing back downstairs, and Ichika let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding.
~
Tsukasa took a breath. Okay, Toya was back downstairs, and whether or not he found Rui was currently of no consequence. He wasn’t saying a word.
He took a bite of his toast, and he noticed Toya giving him a look as he sat back down after giving Keiko something to eat. Huh?
The purple-haired boy’s eyes flicked upwards, and Tsukasa’s confusion intensified. Saki had noticed too, he could feel her eyes behind him.
He heard Saki gasp slightly, and Toya’s glare turned icy. What?
He finally looked upstairs, and he noticed.
Ichika and Akito with Rui, looking down and giving him a subtle wave before vanishing again.
…Of course they all somehow managed to sneak their partners in at the same time. What else did they expect?
He turned back around, focusing on his food. Goddamn it, this wasn’t going to end well. Not at all.
~
Akito shook his head. Okay, so all the Tenma siblings knew, they just needed to hide until they came up with a plan.
Ichika leaned over the side a bit, trying to get a good look at the layout of the house. Maybe she was figuring out a plan?
Oh shit, she was leaning too far. Akito reached out in an attempt to steady her, but it was too late. She was falling down the stairs, and Akito was getting dragged along with her. And looks like they’d accidentally grabbed Rui on the way down too.
Next thing Akito knows, he’s on the first floor with Ichika and Rui on top of him. Fuck, that hurt like a bitch. Everything’s spinning and he got the wind knocked out of him. Of course he’s the only one who actually gets hurt.
He heard screaming, and suddenly footsteps were coming closer to him.
“Akito, are you alright?” Toya said, his eyes flashing with concern.
“Ngh… fine. Don’t worry. I’ve had worse.”
More footsteps appeared, and suddenly the weight was off his chest. He turned over to see Saki and Tsukasa fussing over their partners, and he felt Toya grab his hand.
“Are you sure?”
“I’m fine. I promise.”
Heh… maybe it wasn’t all bad. The way Toya was running his fingers across his face to check for any injuries was… pretty nice.
~
“Icchan! Holy shit, are you okay?!” Saki found herself yelling as she rushed to pull Ichika to her feet and checked her head to toe for any injuries.
“I’m fine. Don’t worry. Akito-kun broke my fall. Thank you for that, by the way.”
“No problem.” Akito grunted, as Toya helped him onto his feet.
“Ah, Aki-kun! Our brilliant knight in shining armor!” Rui said, as Tsukasa checked him over.
“Ya don’t have to thank me that much…”
“Wasn’t expecting this to end like that.” Her mom said, and Saki turned to her.
“O-Oh! Uh… we can explain!” Saki spoke again.
She turned to Tsukasa, who looked as nervous as she did. Her head flipped to the other side, and Toya had his expressionless mask on again. So, he’s fucking terrified.
“Relax, kids. We’ve known since last night.”
“What?!”
“Akito was the one who climbed in through the window, Rui… honestly, I have no goddamn idea how Rui got in, and Ichika waltzed right in through the front door when she thought everyone else was asleep.”
Her dad let out a soft chuckle.
“You kids are really bad at this.”
“Hey! I sneak into Toya’s house all the time!” Akito yelled.
“You should stop that. Harumichi will kill you if he finds you there.” Her dad said.
“I could kick his ass easily.”
“Yeah, you definitely could. But also try explaining that you broke into his house and then beat him to death to the cops.”
“It’s only illegal if you get caught. Partner, you’d lie to the cops for me, right?”
Toya rolled his eyes, but a small smile appeared on his lips.
“I’d help you hide the body.”
“Exactly! So it’ll be fine!”
Her mom let out a soft laugh.
“Just don’t make so much noise climbing up the tree over there.”
“Never climbed up this one before. I know which branches don’t make noise on the tree over there. He’ll never catch me.”
A louder “Ha!” Came from her mom, and she put out another plate of pancakes.
“Fine. First plate goes to the sarcastic one over there.” Her mom started again. “Seriously, are you alright? Two people landing on you like that had to have hurt.”
“I’ve had worse. I once got up and kept dancing with a broken leg.”
“Akito, how many times have I told you not to brag about that? It took an extra week to heal because of your stupidity.” Toya said, shaking his head.
“I can’t brag about that, I can’t brag about being a winner since birth-”
“It’s called being born premature, your sister said you barely survived your first two months of life.”
“Well, I’m here now, aren’t I? And I’m way stronger than you.”
Toya opened his mouth to reply, but to prove his point, Akito scooped him into a bridal carry. And Saki could see the response die on his tongue as he threw one arm around Akito’s neck and used his other hand to cover his face.
“It’s too early for this, Akito. I haven’t even had my coffee yet.”
“You guys are horrible!” Saki yelled, and she noticed Rui giving her a little smirk.
“If we weren’t like this, you wouldn’t have a girlfriend~”
…She couldn’t even argue with that.
Icchan let out a soft laugh, and Saki felt her heart flutter a bit.
“Let’s eat, shall we?” Her dad said, holding out two more plates of pancakes for Ichika and Rui.
Saki laughed, and Toya clutched his head at the noise.
“Ugh. Headache…”
“You really can’t function without your coffee, can you?” Saki replied.
“Nope.”
Akito put him down and took a cup from Saki’s mom. He thanked her before handing it to Toya.
“Here. Don’t kill anyone.”
Toya took a sip, and he instantly looked better. He might be too addicted to it, now that she thinks about it. Whatever, a problem for another day.
She just listened to all the sounds of people talking happily and smiled.
After all the quiet, sterile moments in the hospital, this was heaven. So much cheer! So much happiness! So much love!
And Saki sat down next to Icchan, planted a kiss on her cheek, and grabbed a croissant from the center of the table. She needs to fuel up for another great day!
