I sighed as I readjusted myself, whimpering as I felt a sharp burning pain shoot up from my avian bits into my lower stomach, making my eyes water a bit.
I quickly blinked them away as I heard my newborn daughter grunt as she stretched and moved around in her little wicker basket that sat adjacent to me.
I couldn’t believe that I was finally a mother, something that I had been craving ever since Tech and I had gotten married.
I closed my eyes, then I went back in time to two years before.
At first, Tech was very much against the idea of getting me pregnant, stating; “What would we do if a villain got out of prison and found out that you were carrying my child? It’d put a big target on your back!”
So I just stopped bringing the idea up, hoping that in a year or two he’d finally come around to the idea of becoming a father.
And he did! After we had been married for two years, Tech finally decided to start entertaining the idea of us starting a family. We talked about it and a week later, I got off of birth control, and we started trying.
Six weeks later at a doctor’s appointment, two red lines popped up on the pregnancy test that I took monthly for regular health check-ups. I was absolutely overjoyed when Sapphire told me that I was expecting, and I couldn’t help but squeal in delight and call Tech about the exciting news.

I chuckled and shook my head as I ran a hand over one of Tess’s fat cheeks, marveling at her pretty curly blue hair that framed her chunky face so perfectly, it almost made me want to start crying. I sat there for a couple more minutes, then I heard a knock at the door.
“It’s open…” I softly called out as Tech opened the door and walked in, shrugging his lab coat off his shoulders and put it on the back of a rolling chair nearby. He then rubbed the scruff of his neck as he sighed and stretched, letting out a yawn as he did.
He then walked over to the bed and leaned forward, kissing me on the cheek as I let out a soft giggle, then he looked over and smiled at our sleeping daughter.
“How long has she been out?” he asked as I scooted over so he could lay next to me. I chuckled as I looked back over at Tess.
“A couple of hours, why?”
He just hummed as he slid into bed with me, running a hand over my belly smiling. I cocked my head to the side for a moment, with a gentle smirk playing upon my lips, then I started sewing again taking my time with every stitch, making sure that they were in the correct spot.
After a bit of silence between us, Tech finally spoke.
“Whatcha making?” he asked as he messed around with a little piece of scrap fabric that was hanging off the outfit. I then stopped sewing as I looked at the garment, then I held it up. It was a pair of black overalls, with puffy, short pant legs and a large bow with a bunny tail on the back. It also was adorned with a holographic upside down triangle; the teams insignia.
Tech nuzzled me as he immediately figured out who the outfit was for, and it made me softly smile.
“So, you decided to make Usa a suit huh? I like it!”
I then placed the little outfit back down onto my lap, then I sighed.
“You really think so? It’s been a bit since I’ve made any clothing, so I wanted to see if I could still do it.”
Tech just grinned, his brown fur fluffing up a bit.
“Of course! Now she’ll fit right in. As a matter of fact, I’ve been thinking that we should give her a weapon to use…..”
My eyes widened. “Tech! She’s not old enough to wield a weapon yet, yet alone hold her own head up to look around. Maybe we should wait a bit before we start building anything for her. I mean, we don’t even know if she has any of our powers…”
Tech sheepishly grinned as he looked away from me, running a hand over one of his ears, flattening it. He then looked back at me, then nodded in agreement.
“Perhaps I got a bit ahead of myself. I’m new to this whole parenting thing and, to be honest, I’m actually a bit….. scared.”
I gently wrapped and arm around my husband, then I buried my beak into his fur, savoring his scent. Tech rumbled in agreement as I gently started to preen him, taking my time with each strand of fur. I then made my way to his lips, and in one swift motion, mine were locked against his. He hummed as our tongues played with each other, tasting the last thing we had to eat today.
I pulled away from him for a moment, looking deep into his Golden Green eyes that were filled with a bit of worry.
“You’re doing great Hun, I’m proud of you.”
I then leaned back into the kiss.
As we kissed for a bit, Tess started to fuss because she was starting to get hungry. I pulled away from Tech as he let out a soft whine, making me grin. I then undid my robe, exposing one of my breasts, and I gently picked Tess up and placed her on my chest, where she quickly started to suckle.
Tech and I smiled as we watched our baby eat, filling our hearts up with so much joy and affection.
I couldn’t wait to see what she will become when she gets older, and I hoped that Tech would maybe be in the mood for another in the future. But for right now, Tess was all that we needed.
