Lost

Summary:

Prince Roman was a dreamer. Those who knew him knew that. He dreamed of adventure, he dreamed of true love, he dreamed of many things. He never thought he’d be trapped with the witch's son in a weird realm.

The witch, Virgil, was one that relied on no one but himself. But when trapped in another realm without the means to return to their realm, he’s stuck until his mother can pull them into their world.

Work Text:

“Shit, shit, shit!” Virgil was a witch and so is his mother. His father is dead and has been for many years now. And currently, he and the prince, the first in the line for the throne with his brother second, is stuck in another realm with monsters and villains from fairy and Disney tales. “What is this?!” The prince gasps and Virgil rolls his eyes, trying to read his spell book.

“We are currently stuck here until we find the things that we need to make this potion and call for my mother to pull us out of here” Virgil explains. He wears a long deep purple cloak with the hood pulled up. He wears a black shirt with a shoulder bag that holds his books and a few ingredients for a few basic spells and potions. “Can’t you just pull her out, Witch” The prince spoke, and Virgil had forgotten just how many people don’t trust or like witches.

“No” Virgil replied, “I don't have the right things needed”. The prince and Virgil fell into silence as Virgil read further. “Let’s find some mint leaves and sparrow water” Virgil states, “Make sure to stay close, don’t want to get lost and stay behind”. Roman huffs but still follows Virgil into the woods. They could hear the sounds of animals and the sounds of battle which grew louder as they approached a town.

“It appears to be Rapunzel’s village” Virgil explained. They went in between the houses and Virgil opens one and they go inside. “Virgil?” There stood Princess Rapunzel, holding a frying pan in hand and dagger on her tight. She wore a light purple top, dark purple pants, her hair in a braid, and a necklace that holds two golden rings around her neck. “Hello, princess” Virgil removed his hood, revealing deep purple hair with brown on the bottom, and two shining purple eyes.

“This is Prince Roman, Prince Roman, meet Princess Rapunzel,” Virgil said and Roman bowed, “Nice to meet you”. “Likewise,” Rapunzel sets down her pan. “What can I do for you? As you can see, I’ve got a battle to win and Eugene is waiting for me” The princess sighs, sitting down at the wooden table and chairs. “We need a few things that I thought you might have” Virgil hands her the list and she looks it over, biting her lip.

“No, I don’t have everything” She explains, “But I can give you what I got and send you Ariel for the rest”. Virgil nods, thanking her. “Do you come here often?” Roman questions the witch. “Yes, but with your stunt, we’re here without the things needed to get out of here” Virgil glared up at the prince, who glared right back. Roman huffs but doesn’t say anything further as Rapunzel hands Virgil a few herbs before sending them on their way.

“We have to head to Ariel and Eric’s castle, it’s not too far from here” Virgil explains, pulling back up his hood and the witch and the prince weaves through the fighting of crooks and the kingdom’s guards. “Maybe we could get a ride?” Roman suggests, “If we come across a carriage, or a dragon of some kind,” Virgil says, leading the way.

Their walk leads them through Tiana’s village, which is where she has her restaurant. It leads them through Queen Elsa’s ice kingdom with her creatures and next to it is her sister, Anna’s kingdom with humans. They meet many talking animals, who point them in the right direction for Ariel and Eric’s castle. Soon, they find themselves in a village. The castle is a mix of dark green, a few blues, and gold.

“Good afternoon, Virgil!” Melody, Queen Ariel, and King Eric’s daughter jumped down from the tree in front of the castle’s gates and right in front of the witch and the prince. “Good afternoon, Princess Melody” Virgil greets the princess, and she laughs, “Just Melody is fine, Virge”. “Who’s this?” She tilts her head to the side as she asks the question. “Prince Roman from my world” Virgil explains.

“Ah, so you need some magic stuff from my mom, huh?” Melody was a clever girl. “Right on the money, girl” Virgil nods. The princess leads the two into the castle and up to Queen Ariel herself. “Oh, Virgil, it’s a surprise” Queen Ariel smiles fondly at her friend.

Virgil quickly explains their situation to her, and she gives them the things needed to return back to their realm. “Anything you need, Virgil” Queen Ariel says. “And if there’s anything I can do to return the favor, let me know” Virgil hugs Ariel and Melody goodbye before leaving. “Let’s get to an empty area, with no people around to see us, and we’ll perform the spell” Virgil states and they begin walking.

By night’s fall, they find an area surrounded by trees and flowers of all kinds and colors, and ones that Roman had never seen before were there. “We’ll do the spell and hopefully my mother gets it and we’ll be out of here by the morning” Virgil wipes his dirt-covered hands, from the hike, onto his cloak, dirtying the purple with a brown. “And if she doesn’t get it?” Roman asks, “WE better hope she gets it” Virgil vaguely answers, beginning the spell.

Virgil begins speaking in a language that Roman had never heard before. Some words didn’t even seem like words to Roman, more like noises. A faint glow came from the powder mixture that Virgil had made during their walk and his eyes began to glow. Roman felt naked without his weapon to protect himself against the witch, they were known for their deception.

As Virgil’s chanting got faster and faster, Roman could hear light thuds and footsteps of a heavy creature or tall person, was approaching them. “Witch, is this another kind of creature?” Roman said and Virgil’s chanting stopped, and so did the glowing. “No” Virgil waved his hand and Roman’s sword appeared on the ground, in front of his feet. “Take care of the Dragon Witch while I finish this” Virgil’s chanting picked back up.

Roman wasn’t sure what this ‘Dragon Witch’ was, but he was prepared to fight it. He wasn’t expecting a literal dragon though. It was taller than any dragon he’d seen before. It was a deep maroon color with a witch’s pendant hanging around its neck. It roared deeply at Roman, who raised its sword to fight against the beast.

Roman knew he need to get Virgil to finish this spell, no matter what. Roman needed to return to his people, his family, and more importantly, his brother. Remus and Roman were a pair, one couldn’t go without the other. That’s the pact they made when they were children.

Roman raised his sword and the Dragon Witch roared a mighty roar, hot fire shooting from its throat and suddenly, a large shield appeared in front of the prince. Roman glanced over at the witch, seeing his hand raised, he realized that Virgil summoned it while chanting. Roman lunged out from behind the shield, dashing at the Dragon Witch.

The Dragon Witch glared at Roman with its beady glowing red eyes and fire shot at Roman, nearly hitting the prince, but Roman could still feel the heat. Roman raised his sword and swiped at the Dragon’s tough skin, slicing a clean cut. Thick green blood oozed from the Dragon Witch’s wound. It roared in pain and began trying to stomp on the prince, to no success. Roman took another swing at the dragon’s leg, managing to slice it once again and more blood came from the wound.

Roman ran out from under the dragon, back into the trees to get some cover. The Dragon Witch searched for Roman in the trees before they heard a battle cry and a rain of arrows came from the sky. It hit the Dragon, piercing its flesh and it roared once again in pain. A Scottish accent echoed through the woods, “Again!”.

Another wave of arrows rained from the sky and the dragon fell, exhausted from its wounds. Still alive, but down for now. “Good evening, little prince” It was a woman in an all-green outfit and long red curly hair tied in a bun. “Good evening, M’lady” Roman greeted her. “Thanks for the save, Merida” Virgil came from the trees, looking very exhausted, looking like he’s barely standing upright anymore.

“Anytime, Virgil” The princess nodded at the witch before fleeing into the woods with her group of all-girl archers. “I could’ve handled it” Roman said, stubbornly. “Just take the help and shut up” Virgil sighed, “I finished it, she got it and now we wait”.

When Roman woke up the next morning, he found himself back in the field that he had first Virgil at, where they had been sucked into the other realm. “What were you thinking?” Three figures stood around Virgil, who looked at the ground rather than the people.

“It was an accident, Mom,” Virgil said and the lady hugged him tightly. She was much taller than her tall, dressed in the same purples as her son and her shirt had a very deep line that showed a lot. She had the same color hair as Virgil. Next to Virgil’s mother stood a man with light blue hair and a similar-colored outfit. And the final person has all brown hair and glasses too. He was dressed in a Wizard’s outfit.

“You had the prince with you?” The light blue person gasps upon seeing the prince. Virgil’s mother huffs but offers the prince a hand, helping him to his feet. “I’m Patton,” the light blue person says, “This is Virgil’s mother, Lady Iris” Lady Iris smiles at Roman, “And Virgil’s boyfriend, Logan”.

Logan didn’t respond other than hugging his boyfriend tightly. He let out a sigh of contentment.

“Let’s get you back to the castle, where you belong”
