Quirk: God of Chaos

Summary:

The thing laughed, shaking his head, “Ah, yes. I’m afraid you’re not as sneaky as you like pretend you are. But alas, my name is Adohira, but you can call me Izuku,” the next thing that came out of Izuku’s mouth sent chills down Shouta’s spine, “and I’m the god of chaos.”

Offering the god of chaos a position as a teacher in a school full of would-be heroes couldn’t possibly backfire, right?

Right?!

Chapter Text

Humans are a funny thing, Adohira (or Izuku, as some humans may call him) decided.

They claim to rule the land yet worship the gods that created it. They slaughter the creatures that it was made for, in the name of ‘fun’. They proclaim peace yet create hierarchies that do nothing but give power to the fortunate and burdens to those without. They demonise those who have little to no empathy when they should be shown sympathy, and they give those who take what they themselves have deemed ‘pure’ away from the innocent a podium of grace.

And yet, in all of Adohira’s existence, never has he seen so much chaos.

Some gods despise humans, they even argue that they should be eradicated. While others, Adohira especially, think they are absolutely fascinating.

Being the god of chaos, he can appreciate the despair that humans leave in their wake. His mother is one of the few that adores humans, not for how they benefit her but for their need to be nourished and ‘protected’. Miwa (called Inko when she walks in her human form) is the goddess of Harmony and even though she has watched the true ups and downs of humanity with the gaze of an elder god, she adores humans.

(Adohira would argue that she adores the humans more than her own son, the one time he made such a comment he was - rather ungracefully - smacked upside the head.)

Then there is his brother, Kazuki, the god of peace. Kazuki was his best friend, he shared their mother’s views on humanity.

The day the god of peace died was the day Adohira cried.

When a god dies, they are often reincarnated as a human. That was the case with Kazuki. One day, when Adohira was roaming the streets of a poor town in Japan, he bumped into a small child.

The child was seven years, three months and two days old. (Don’t ask, he was curios. And if checking the exact age of a random human child was considered ‘abusing his powers’ then no one needed to know.) The child’s name was Yoichi. He had white hair, a sickly frame and toxic green eyes. The same white hair and toxic green eyes that Adohira shared with his mother.

A hundred years ago, such an appearance would be considered abnormal. But since the appearance of ‘abilities’ (or quirks, as they would later be called) that had begun to plague the human race, such a sight was - almost - normal.

The child fell on his backside and he looked up at Adohira with fear. He quickly stood up and positioned himself in a bow, “I-I’m so s-sorry sir!”

Adohira- or, rather, Izuku while he was in his human form, looked down at the child and immediately swore to himself that he would protect this reincarnation of his brother with everything he had.

(Apparently everything he had wasn’t enough. Because not twelve years later the reincarnated god died at the hands of his human brother. The god of chaos wasn’t seen again by the humans for another two hundred years.)

Izuku was not having a good day.

His mother had forced him to leave the Ethereal Realm and walk amongst the humans once more, something he hadn’t done since Yoichi died.

He was already getting strange looks, so what if he chose to walk around in an elegant black, hooded cloak with a graceful black cane which had a white diamond decorated with delicate silver as the head? It wasn’t any of their business.

He had elected to avoid the main streets for that exact reason, also because he would rather stay well clear of the ‘heroes’.

As he ventured through the underpass on the way to his brother’s shrine, he heard the sound of metal against concrete.

“You’ll make the perfect skin suit for me to hide in kid!” Izuku turned to face the voice, a sludge monster stood at the other end of the underpass.

.

.

.

Excuse me?

The human-monster-thing made a move to attack Izuku, he blinked and with a wave of his hand, he removed the thing from existence. Well, that was something.

Yagi Toshinori didn’t know what to expect when he jumped out of the sewers to catch the Sludge Villain, but it wasn’t this.

He arrived just in time to see a young boy, no older than fifteen, wave his hand through the air and make the Sludge Villain, just…disappear.

The boy turned to face him with an uncaring gaze, Toshinori just put on his best All Might smile and laughed, “Well, my boy! You handled that villain rather well! Mind pointing me in the direction of where you placed him?!”

The boy raised an eyebrow then smirked, pointing his index finger down. He then turned around to walk away only to pause. He slowly turned back around and, with a flick of his wrist, Toshinori was dragged towards the strange teenager.

Before he could protest, the boy flicked him on the forehead and Toshinori watched as he deflated into his smaller form while his muscle form fell to the ground beneath him.

Izuku watched as the many spirits trapped within the body of Yagi Toshinori were pushed out of his physical form. He walked past the glowing spectres and met the eyes of none other than Yoichi.

Izuku smiled, “Long time no see.”

Yoichi laughed, “Was it really necessary to push my predecessors’ souls out of Eight’s body?”

“You know me,” Izuku huffed, “always got to go the extra mile.”

“Extra is one word for it.”

Izuku laughed, ignoring the demands from the other vestiges, he placed a hand on Yoichi’s translucent shoulder and pulled the otherwise incorporeal being into an embrace, “Talk to you later?”

“Of course,” and with that, Izuku reassembled the quirk known as One for All and placed the souls back into the body of Yagi Toshinori.

Toshinori felt his very soul be placed back into his physical body. He quickly deflated and started gasping for air.

“Oh come now, it wasn’t that bad.” The voice of that thing brought him back to reality. He turned around and started backing away from the monster disguised as a teenager.

“W-What are you?!” Toshinori demanded.

“Ah! How rude of me. Let me introduce myself,” he took a dramatic bow, “I am Adohira, god of silk, matter and chaos,” he stood, “but you can call me Izuku.” He finished his introduction with a calm smile and placed both his hands on his cane, his black, silk robe billowing in some unknown breeze. His white locks fluttered over his face, toxic green eyes stared into Toshinori’s very being, “Forgive me but I have places to be,” he nodded his head then turned and began to calmly saunter away, “good day.”
