Bad End

Summary:

Day 5 of ShuAke Week

Work Text:

Akira stood high above the masses, power buzzing through his veins. Before him sat the corpse of a false god, one born of humanity's desire. But he was better. He is better.

"Joker-" With a wave of his hand, his friends were torn from his realm. They'd been through enough, they didn't need to be involved with this. They could be spared the hardship that came with rebirth.

So Akira got to work. He closed his eyes, focusing on the will of the masses. It was so easy to reach out and twist. He could eliminate the injustice. He could get rid of the vile desires they'd been working so hard to purge. It was what humanity needed. What they wanted above all.

This was justice.

Akira walked through the streets of Tokyo, unseen by the average observer. Behind him, a reporter droned on about a sudden surge of guilty consciences. Posters of Shido that had once hung so proud were vandalized and torn. His entire rotten empire was crumbling, just as he deserved.

Except... there was one part that Akira couldn't bear to part with. The sole bit of light shining through Shido's oppressive darkness. The thought of it brought a smile to Akira's face as he turned the corner. A blue door greeted him, familiar prison bars were no longer accompanied by the Velvet Room's attendants.

Akira entered the Velvet Room, its residents long gone. He made his way down the stairs until soft blue hues greeted him. In one of the cells sat him.

Goro Akechi. His other half. His soulmate. His rival.

A smile crossed Akira's face as Goro's own expression controverted with disgust. "Goro," Carefully, he reached his hand into the cell. As soon as Goro tried to back away, his body locked on him. "What's wrong?"

He cupped Goro's chin, forcing his gaze to be on Akira. He fought the urge to remove the bars of his cell and steal a kiss. It wouldn't mean anything if it was taken. Such things needed to be given willingly.

"Let go of me!" Goro snarled. Akira simply smiled at him. This was the true Goro, the one he'd hidden for so long, and Akira couldn't get enough of it. Each word hurled like a weapon, every sharp glare, it all made him fall deeper for the boy whose existence was torn away too soon. The boy who would eventually love him again.

"Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are when you're angry?"

"Go fuck yourself you disgusting piece of shit!"

Akira gazed upon his lover fondly as he took away his hand. Eventually he'd come around. It was only a matter of time.
