Nursing the Overthrown Emperor Back to Health

Summary:

"Sometimes I wonder if my boss actually hates me for sending me off into the Who Made me a Princess universe... I'm not supposed to be here."

After being unexpectedly transported to the WMMAP universe, years before the main story took place, Myra Smith had no choice but to go with the flow, working as an apprentice bread seller in one of Obelia's many bakeries. It confused her. Why would her boss want to have her work as a random bread seller working in Obelia? Aside from the main plot of the story, nothing ever happens that would pique anyone's interest.

That's until she found a certain man that was all bloodied up, left all alone in a random alleyway while she was on her way to the clinic with a basket full of food.

"... Sir Anastacius?"

What else could she do? She had to help him somehow even though there was a slight risk of her changing the future's outcome. With her knowing who this man truly was and who was possessing him, not to mention the future, she had to keep some distance from him to ensure the story would not change at all.

... Surprise, surprise, things didn't go the way Myra planned. At all.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

  Anastacius de Alger Obelia.

Known by the citizens of Obelia as a tyrant ruler who was, almost a year into his reign as emperor, slain by his own half-brother, Claude de Alger Obelia. Being considered Obelia's saviour, Claude later took over the throne and became the empire's beloved emperor, the Sun of Obelia.

And the dead emperor was left to rot in hell, left to be forgotten by the citizens of Obelia, his existence completely erased from the history books.

Anastacius. The name is of Greek origin and it means 'resurrection'.

Well, the man certainly lived up to his name because fifteen years later, he finally showed his face again, hellbent on taking back the throne that was rightfully his in the first place. However, he failed miserably and was eventually arrested and punished severely for intentionally harming the emperor and his beloved daughter, Athanasia.

If it weren't for his own daughter, Jennette who was caught in the middle of this cross-fire, he would have been hanged and left to die a painful death all alone. Jennette was a precious child. She was willing to get down on her knees and begged to her cousin and uncle to have mercy on him and in the end, they both left the main capital and resided in Mieta, a lively harbouring city that's filled with the smell of the ocean and the sound of boats making their stop at the docks.

In the end, almost everyone has a happy ending, with the main character of the story finally being officiated as the crown princess of Obelia and her loved ones living happily ever after.

... Even the antagonist Anastacius had a happy ending where he continues to live the rest of his life with his lovely daughter.

So why bother with a story that has reached its ending when it should be put laid to rest?

  ...

Because it's fun to tamper a bit with the course of events in a pre-existing story, obviously!

Oh, judging by the expression on your face, it seems that you don't want anything to be changed to a story that already has a perfect ending.

Don't worry, I don't want you to tamper with anything that will change the main story. I want you to... help someone from the past that's all.

You must be curious about why I keep mentioning Anastacius to you again and again, right?

Well, after he was overthrown by his younger brother, nobody really knows what happened to him until he reappeared in Obelia again fourteen years later. So the main question is, what happened after he escaped from the palace and where did he go? He couldn't have gotten far with how severely injured he was. And did he even have a place to stay while he was still recovering from his injuries?

Sometimes I wonder what that man was doing all this time... but I'm too lazy to do anything to find out about it myself.

So you'll do all the work for me! Doesn't that sound nice?

  ...

  Well? How about it?

Wanna enter the world of Who Made me a Princess and answer those questions?
