Baby shark played loudly on the radio as you, your best friend, and her son were on the way to Party City to get some birthday decorations for her son's birthday. you already had a place where the party was going to be held and it was pre-decorated, but your bestie wanted some extra things. Brittany had been your best friend since grammar school. You two always stuck beside each other no matter what you guys were like platonic soulmates.
“Girl isn't today's world crazy, the world has changed so much I can't even believe it. ” Britney yelled out “ I mean it is so crazy how robots and humans are so much alike. Can you believe that a robot and a human can have a baby and robots and robots can have babies, but the weirdest thing is the population of robots is more than humans!!” You chuckled a little at Brittany’s sudden outburst. Driving down the street you and Brittany looked at all the human and robot and robot and robot couples.
“Yeah, it is definitely crazy. Do you think I'll be with the robot or human one day?” You jokingly asked Brittany.
“I don't know girl, you're my best friend, but you're pretty crazy but you've never had a boyfriend so I wouldn't even know your type,” She said back and you both laughed.
Brittany's son Jackson asked, “Well where do babies even come from?” You and Brittany both turned to look at each other and began singing Baby Shark really loudly to divert Jackson from his question.
Britney parked the car and you told her you’d run in to go get the extra things for Jackson's party. You got out and went into the store picking up everything you needed. You stood in the aisle just browsing and then you stepped back and noticed that you stepped on someone’s foot.
“Oh my god! I’m so sorry” you turned around and your eyes met with a pair of big blue eyes shining down on you. He was a robot, but he was a bear and he was perfectly immaculate. His tophat was perfectly placed on top of his head, he had baby blue paint on his nails and paw tips. The paint from his nails matched a lighting bolt going down his chest. He was so big you had to look up at him. He had to be nearly 7 feet if not over.
“Oh no it’s fine, I’m ok.” He spoke in such a heavy, perfect voice.
You stared at him in silence for a minute, still in his way, and then you spoke again “Oh I’m sorry let me get out of your way!”
He chucked a little and said, “What’s your name?”
You said, “I’m Y/N.” His looked you up and down and then eyes met back to yours and he started speaking again “That’s beautiful and I’m-
He was cut off mid-sentence by another robot built similarly to him, she yelled “FREDDY LET’S GO! We have a performance in 30 minutes. Roxy and Monty are waiting.”
Freddy turned back to you and said “I’m Freddy, I hope I can see you again sometime, but now I have to go.” Your eyes followed him as he was headed out of the store before he left he turned around, giving you a gentle smile, and waving goodbye.
You gathered all your things checked out and went back to the car. “Goodness girl what took you so long, Jackson even went to sleep” You looked at Britney all embarrassed and blushing. “Oh my God, you met a guy in the store tell me all about him” Brittany yelled, patting the seat for you to hurry up and sit down.
“I always go and make a big fool out of myself. It was so embarrassing! First I stepped on his foot and then I stood in his way like an idiot, but he was still so sweet and he even told me my name is beautiful. His voice is so perfect and he's so tall
“Slow down, what's his name?” She asked you
“Freddy” you responded
“What's his last name? I know Freddy, two or three,” she said, squinting her eyes at you.
“I didn't get a chance to ask, I only told him my first name too,” you said.
“Sounds intense for five minutes if even that” Brittany laughed jokingly as she started up the car and drove back to her apartment. You spent the rest of the ride thinking about the robot guy you had just met and how you probably never see him again.
You guys arrived back at Brittany's place where you two organized all of the stuff for Jackson's birthday party. You carried the bags and Brittany carried Jackson and laid him on his bed. She came back out and you two got to work, starting putting Jackson's gifts in bags.
“You haven't even really ever had a boyfriend as long as I’ve known you. you've always just about hated guys you must like me Y/N ” Brittany said winking at you.
“Brittany! Stop the lesbian crap.” You said giggling. “I don't hate guys, I just don't want a loser boyfriend and I don't want somebody to break my heart!” You told her rolling your eyes. “Where are we even having Jackson's birthday party in any way? its so close and i'm still part clueless”
“We're having it at the Mega PizzaPlex! I take Jackson there all the time. He loves it there. He says the daycare attendant is his best friend. You're always so busy at the crappy diner you never have a chance to go. We always wind up spending hours there” Brittany said, wrapping toys and putting them in the bags.
“Hmm I've never heard of that place but if you and Jackson like it then I love it! too”
“You'll definitely like it Y/N I know I love it there kinda. It's like some 80s retro and disco era themed, huge mall, playground, shopping center, daycare, kid party center thing.”
“Well Brittany that's a lot to take in, but I'll try to be more available. It's just like my boss hates me.”
“I know, I know, you better hope Freddy is a sugar daddy so you better hope you see him again Y/N.”
“Brittany stop, I won't use a guy for money, I want to be in LOVE!”
“Whatever crazy girl let's continue, so we can go to bed” For the rest of the night you and Brittany were preparing for Jackson's birthday party. Brittany and you would stop at nothing to make the little guy's dreams come true. You got lost in thought sometime about the conversations you two had earlier, Britney often called you to snap you out of it and you continued to get ready for Jacksons party.
You also couldn't wait to take a trip to this Pizza Place mall thing. Brittany seemed so excited about it, you couldn't wait to see what it was about and you were even more excited to see how happy Jackson would be to be there, but the thoughts of having a boyfriend and Freddy came back to your mind. If only you knew what was soon to come. You were in for a ride!
