On a VERY faithful day, Rui Kamishiro makes the worst mistake of his life, creating IT. Not alive, not dead - a zombie, maybe? Who knows. He certainly doesn't.

Why not keep it?

How long can he keep it a secret? How long until his world completely crumbles?

Chapter 1: it

Chapter Text

Third pov

It was sunny, and everything was going great. Tsukasa was visiting Saki at the hospital since she had broken her arm. Emu and nene were enjoying the day at a park, and Rui was at home, in the basement. Wait, why was he in the basement, if it was such a lovely day? Well, he had just started a new project, a big one. And he didn’t want to leave it, just to spend time outside. It seems a bit weird, but I’ll allow it.

Mix of ruis pov and third pov

“Hmm…. Huh..? What on earth is happening-“ Rui was confused, as the corpse he had dug out earlier (cry abt it, he stole a corpse from the cemetery) was… moving? Was it alive? No, there’s no way… the corpse had been there for a long time, he wasn’t sure how long thought… suddenly, it moved again, but a lot more this time. It was staring right at him! Okay, it was definitely
somewhat alive.

it started to slowly move towards him, and Rui thought It would be a good idea to get a bit more space between them. He quickly opened a cage he used to keep small childr- god knows what in, and with all of his strength pushed it into the cage and closed the door. “Phew…” he sighted… One problem was solved, but now onto another question. What is it? And how did it even happen?

the creation seemed interesting, and he couldn't help but wonder, should he try to destroy it? Or... keep it? The answer was oblivious. He immediately gathered all kinds of tools and god knows what other stuff to try out with the creation, and began.

Rui yawned, he had done it. It took a bit of time, but it was done. He was done with the experiments, and it made him happy. He had tested all kinds of stuff with the creature, and also had come to the conclusion it was a zombie. No brains, no need for water, food, nothing. Expect, it seemed to want something from him. Well, if the old tales and zombie movies are right, it wanted his brains.

suddenly, he heard a knock on the door. Oh, who could it be? He quickly hurried upstairs, and opened the door. "Hey Rui..." it was Tsukasa! What a wonderful surprise! But, he sounded... stressed? sad? well, something was wrong. "oh, hello Tsukasa! is everything okay?" Tsukasa sighed. That was never good. "Rui, we haven't heard from you in weeks. You haven't answered our calls or texts, you haven't come to practice, anything."

Rui was confused, what was Tsukasa talking about? It had only been a day, not weeks! He was shocked but didn't believe Tsukasa. "What? No, no you're wrong!" he took out his phone and opened it, to show Tsukasa he was wrong. But then, his train of thoughts hit him at 300 mph. It was April 25th. No, wasn't it just April 7th? He slowly started to realize how long he had spent in the basement, experimenting on the creature you could call a zombie. "I- Tsukasa, I'm sorry I didn't realize how long it had been. Sorry for making you guys worry. Say, let's hang out in a few days?" Tsukasa nodded, said his goodbyes, and left. Rui was still devastated and confused. How had it been so long..? Whatever, he should go get rid of the zombie now.

but as he went downstairs, he realized something. The zombie was gone. Totally gone. The cage door was open. Did he leave it open? No, surely not... His thoughts were once again stopped when he realized he had to do something to stop the zombie before it was too late. He didn't even know how hostile it was towards other living beings, how it could tell the difference between a living being and a non-living object. Would it spread? He hadn't tested that either. How fast was it?

No! He needed to calm down.

He quickly hurried and gathered everything that he could use to stop the zombie, and then ran after it. He didn't even know where it was, where was he even going? He didn't know, but trusted his gut and prayed to god that he could find the zombie.

And then, he heard it. It was the zombie, he found it! Wait... This one looked... Different? It had different clothes and... No. No. It wasn't possible, no! Had it spread already?! This was a completely different zombie. It seems it spreads very fast, not good.

suddenly, the zombie turned around to stare at him, and stared to move towards him. Had it heard him? No, that's not possible. Or is it? Nevermind, he should destroy it before anything bad happens. He sprinted towards the zombie, and slashed its neck. It was surprisingly hard to break, but it was most likely because it still did have a bone right there. Zombies don't have brains, but they sure do have bones. The zombies head dropped to the ground, and some redish and greenish liquid poured out, almost staining Rui's shoes. "Ew..." Rui sighed, and continued to his journey to find more zombies.
