Chapter Text
~Sasha~
“Fucking hell.” Sasha said, peeling himself off what he hoped to be mud. He immediately went back to crouching when he heard voices around his area.
Looking around he slowly approached near the noise and hid behind dead looking bushes. To his horror a sneeze escaped him compelling him to hold in his breath and hope that nobody heard him.
“Frog you heard that?” Sasha heard raising an eyebrow at the wording.
“Musta been a bug o’ something kid.” An older sounding person… or creature said.
“M-might be true o-or-”
“-Herons? Boy don’t make me laugh. Grimes taken care of ‘em five years ago, remember. Paid with one arm and his seriousness but still an honorable toad nonetheless.”
The scared sounding… whatever that inhuman croaking sound was chuckled uncomfortably.
“Oh… that incident. I still wonder what Braddock and Percy are doing now.”
Sashas eyes widened for a second he thought they were…
“You surprised kiddo? Both were too busy with each other and got the tower attacked because of it. Serves ‘em both right. Grime was merciful when he banished them. That day all of us could have ended with our corpses rotting. Instead we were celebrating the heron's death.”
“Before the attack Captain Grime would have pinned them to a wall and let them rot there… we should maybe cremate old Gary’s bones.”
Sasha swallowed while a roaring laugh emerged.
“Old Gary. What did he expect from finishing Beatrix’s favorite drink? Those were the wild days of Toad Tower.”
“Captain Grime is way…”
“Softer.”
“Yeah he changed from how I have known him. I grew up with both him and Beatrix and lemme tell ya I have never met such a bloodthirsty and rowdy duo.”
“Really?”
At this point Sasha turned out the reminiscing as horror washed over him. Soon fury was bubbling up inside him as he thought about that sadistic piece of trash of a deity.
"Wow, rude."
Sasha froze and hoped that Marcy and Anne were alright and alive until he reached them both. He had to find a way to reach them but for now he truly had no idea what to do as he grabbed his bag and quietly started walking around the area.
He froze when he felt something sharp poke his side and saw glowing eyes focus on his petrified blue ones.
“This is gonna be fun.”
“If you survive Strength.”
Sasha groaned at the sing-songy voice and hoped for these frog-like looking things to do their job fast.
~Anne~
A headache is all her body registered as her surroundings slowly came into focus. Green… wait more like a forest. Anne slowly sat up and gathered up her bag checking for any rips. Thankfully it looked undamaged.
The disorientation slowly faded as venomous anger took over her whole being. That freaking deity. Of course she would be separated from Sasha and Marcy. Taking a couple deep breaths she began focusing on where she was.
Slowly fear settled deep inside her replacing the fury… wondering if Sasha and Marcy were okay.
With a deep sigh she got up, shouldered her bag and began wandering around.
“Well well welcome to the next and forever chapter of your life Heart!”
Anne shrieked and froze in place, eyes frantically searching the area.
“Ouch now don’t be like that Heart, that's quite insulting. Haven't I already proven that I have more ways of communicating than just hopping inside your sleeping mind.
Whatever, if I have not yet here you have the full taste of it.”
It was actually talking from inside her mind.
“Yeah of course I am, it’s the most convenient way. Still If any of the Amphibians see you talking to yourself they might trust even slower. That will be fun to watch.”
She wanted so hard to ignore it but how could she if this could happen anytime.
“Better get used to my presence. I am called omnipresent and omniscient for a reason dear Heart.”
“Who calls you that and why are you calling me Heart?”
“You sure have taken to Strengths sassiness now haven’t you. Whatever you will find out soon enough or I don’t know how this timeline will pan out. These five years have made quite the difference.”
Anne was getting more and more confused and the headache wasn't helping that.
“...are they okay?”
“As of speaking…”
Anne was trembling hating how it took its sweet time.
“Please I have to know… I can't lose anything else.”
“Geez kid get a hold of yourself I was just trying to get in some suspense. Some sharp individuals will surely appreciate it. Yes they are alive, you are all quite sturdy for ‘humans’.”
Anne felt tears of relief forming as tension left her shoulders.
“Well, aren’t you going to continue your journey? I am curious to see what happens.”
Anne raised an eyebrow… wouldn’t they already know all the events that could transpire. Whatever, she didn’t have the energy for another headache.
For whatever reason it seemed to have the most interest in her. She was starting to wonder why.
“You will realize in due time… Heart.”
Anne tightened her fist, took a deep breath and kept on walking around the unknown greens of her new life.
~Marcy~
Falling face first onto shiny ground was the first thing she registered and many following exclamations of “Frog!?”.
Did they land themselves into a family friendly dimension? A shame for Sashas sailor like cursing and soon she realized with rising panic that she was alone and her two heartthrobs nowhere near.
Yet her gaze quickly fell around the beautiful city around her.
Packing the box away she began admiring everything around her.
“You got the attention span of a goldfish. Whatever, at least you got your priorities straight… despite the irony.”
Marcy frowned but shook it off and quickly began running around drawing a lot of attention to herself by anthropomorphic amphibians.
Soon she found herself by some of them who looked pretty much like guards who asked her who and what she was.
Her surprise to hear them speak English immediately killed any kind of inhibition she had and she immediately began interrogating them about everything her surroundings were made of.
Yet when she began asking all kinds of questions they looked nothing short of confused.
“Lady Olivia will know what to do.”
The others agreed and promptly began carrying her somewhere by her shoulders. She quickly insisted on walking herself and landed herself falling down a flight of stairs and ending up unconscious.
“Now that was a nasty fall on your part Wit. Well the clumsiness is just an intrinsic part of all your different iterations. This is going to be so much fun.
What will Strength and Heart now do with you in that condition.”
