Work Text:

“Xunfeng wishes to see you, my lady,” a servant interrupted Xiao Lanhua’s thoughts as she combed through her hair. It was still early afternoon, and she had slept in since there had been nothing urgent happening.

“Xunfeng?” Xiao Lanhua repeated, confused. Dongfang Qingcang’s brother had always made it clear how much he had disliked her. Now that the misunderstanding between the siblings had cleared, why did he wish to see her?

“Let him in,” Xiao Lanhua said, nervously patting down her skirts. She met him outside, in the imitation Arbiter Hall garden, unwilling to be alone with him behind closed doors.

“Fairy,” Xunfeng swept in, wearing his customary sapphire blue robes and silver branch headpiece. “I hear you have been tired of late, and have brought you a reviving tea. Your health is important to my brother, and so is important to me.”

“T-thank you…” Xiao Lanhua bowed as the servant set down the teapot and cups. “Please… please join me.”

“Of course,” Xunfeng flipped back his sleeves and sat down. The servant poured them tea, and it was pink and sweet smelling.

“It is a special flower tea that is good for your cultivation,” Xunfeng explained. “The petals are harvested from the forest bordering the Cangyan Sea. It will help you recover more quickly.”

“I appreciate the thought,” Xiao Lanhua said, sitting down across from him and accepting a cup. “I am but a lowly flower fairy, and do not have strong cultivation to begin with…”

She looked down at the pink tea, chewing her lip. Could she really trust Xunfeng after everything he had done?

“My brother told me about the one heart curse,” Xunfeng said, sipping the tea. “It is more important, now than ever, that you do not fall sick. You cannot be a weakness to him.”

“I understand…” Xiao Lanhua nodded. Seeing that Xunfeng had already drank the tea, it could not be harmful, and so she drank. It was fragrant and refreshing, and she felt it leave a pleasant tingle down her throat as she swallowed. Her cheeks warmed up, and she touched them, surprised.

“You already look full of energy,” Xunfeng grinned, and his smile had the warmth of his brother’s. “Join me for another cup…”

By the time they had finished the tea, Xiao Lanhua could barely hold her head upright. She leaned against the table, her skin flushed and her eyes dark. Xunfeng ordered a servant to remove the pot and the cups, and left the hall, pleased that his plan had worked. His cultivation was too high to be affected, but for someone as weak as the flower fairy, it would work perfectly.

“Bring Shang Que here,” he told the servant. “Tell him the flower fairy has asked for him, and it is urgent.”

🌸

Shang Que rushed to Arbiter Hall as soon as he received the message. Xiao Lanhua was dozing at the table, and the dragon knelt down at her side, gently shaking her shoulder. He instantly recoiled: her body heat was searing even through the light silk of her gown.

“My lady…” he gasped, touching her forehead. She was burning with fever, her eyelashes fluttering.

“S-Shang que…” her words were slurred as her eyes drifted open. “Stay away…”

“You’re sick, my lady,” Shang Que said, getting to his feet. “I’ll summon my lord…”

“No!” Xiao Lanhua gasped, grabbing his robes. “You can’t let Yuezen Daren know about this… he’ll be so angry…”

“Why would he be angry?” the dragon asked, confused.

“It… it was Xunfeng…” she said, before doubling over in pain. “Quick, Shang Que! You need to fetch Jie Li… she might have an antidote…”

“Yes, my lady!” Shang Que saluted and strode off, leaving some guards to stand outside and make sure no one else would enter.

Xiao Lanhua dragged herself to the water jug, draining it all before splashing herself in the face. The droplets sat on her pink cheeks and felt like they were steaming. She wanted to submerge herself in a cool lake, but she did not have the energy to fly. Instead, she crawled to her bed and ripped off her clothing which felt like it was scalded to her skin. She slipped under the cool sheets with a sigh and hoped she could sleep off the fever.

🌸

“Silly girl!” Jie Li told her, as she put a cold wet cloth on the fairy’s forehead. “Why would you trust that idiot? Of course he wanted to hurt you!”

“Can you heal her?” Shang Que asked, concerned.

“Not with what I have,” Jie Li sighed. “It sounds like a pretty rare tea, I need to research the antidote. But I fear we do not have that long…”

“It hurts…” Xiao Lanhua whined, clutching her stomach over the sheets. “Jie Li, please do something!”

“I’m trying, all right!” Jie Li panicked. “Shang Que, I need you to go and fetch some scrolls while I keep an eye on her. Anything on the forest of the Cangyan Sea. Quickly!”

The dragon nodded and rushed off to his task. Jie Li continued to wet the cloth and mop at Xiao Lanhua’s brow.

“It feels better when you touch me,” Xiao Lanhua said, confused.

“What do you mean?” Jie Li asked.

“Like this…” Xiao Lanhua said, taking the cloth from her friend and skimming Jielie’s fingertips across her forehead. “The pain is less…”

Jie Li clicked her tongue. “What if I do this?” she asked, resting her whole hand on the flower fairy’s face.

“Mmm,” Xiao Lanhua nodded.

“That damn brat!” Jie Li hissed. “Xiao Lanhua… it’s not a fever, and even worse, it’s not something I can cure.”

🌸

Dongfang Qingcang was many things, but not stupid. The Silent Moon palace was far too quiet for his liking. Shang Que had disappeared hours ago and had not returned. The flower fairy was not annoying him as usual, and even his brother was nowhere to be seen. Dongfang Qingcang drummed his fingers impatiently against his throne as he waited for the Minister of War to finish speaking. He toyed with the Yue ring, wondering if he could risk taking it off during a serious meeting. He did not want to laugh or cry like a fool again.

After the meeting finally wrapped up, Xunfeng stormed into the throne room, his face conflicted.

“Brother, I must request a meeting in private,” he said, his head bowed, and his hands raised in salute.

“Leave us,” Dongfang Qingcang said, dismissing the ministers with a wave of his fingers. “Speak.”

Xunfeng nodded. “The news I bring you is uncomfortable, brother, but you have a right to know…”

“Spit it out.”

“Very well,” Xunfeng sighed. “Earlier today, my servant spotted Shang Que visiting the fairy. She assumed he was working on your behalf, and waited for him to deliver the message before serving the afternoon meal. However, many hours later, he had still not emerged, and the servant was concerned something was amiss. She entered Arbiter Hall to check all was well, and saw the fairy and Shang Que… being intimate…”

“Impossible,” Dongfang Qingcang scoffed. “Bring the servant here. They must be punished for such slander.”

“I, also, doubted her words,” Xunfeng dipped his head. “I wanted to clarify the situation before bringing it to you. But Arbiter Hall is currently protected by the dragon’s barrier, and the guards on the door are refusing anyone to enter.”

Dongfang Qingcang gripped the throne. Shang Que was loyal and had never shown any sign of attraction to the flower fairy before. However, he had admitted that he had not wanted to repair the ChengYin sword because he knew it would mean Xiao Lanhua’s death. He had even said he respected the little flower fairy… had that somehow turned to something more?

Gritting his teeth, Dongfang Qingcang descended the throne and tried to phase into the imitation Arbiter Hall, but was repelled by Shang Que’s barrier.

“Insolence…!” Dongfang Qingcang hissed, before striding there on foot, ordering the guards to stand aside. They fell to their knees and Dongfang Qingcang raised a hand, destroying the barrier instantly.

Jie Li was sitting in the garden, pouring over a scroll, when he entered.

“Yuzen Daren!” she leapt up and attempted to block his way. “You cannot be here!”

“How dare you stand in my way?” Dongfang Qingcang’s eyes glowed with azure hellfire in warning.

“Xiao Lanhua is sick and resting! Please let her sleep…” Jie Li gasped as she was pushed aside.

Dongfang Qingcang magicked her away, not wanting her to interfere with the punishment he was about to deliver. As he drew closer to the flower fairy’s bedroom, he could hear the lewd sound of moans and the slickness of skin. Anger made his blood boil, and he threw open the door to the room, ripping through the paper screen.

He was not sure what he would find, but it was not this. Xiao Lanhua was naked on her bed, silk sheets pooling around her hips. Her eyes were squeezed closed, her lips bitten and swollen. Her cheeks were pink, and the blush continued down to her small breasts, which gleamed with sweat. But the thing that made Dongfang Qingcang stagger was the phallus-shaped jade that the fairy was using to pleasure herself. Her wrist moved back and forth, clearly tiring, while her other hand circled her patch of fine curls. The Moon Supreme could not contain a hiss between his teeth, making Xiao Lanhua’s eyes fly open, and scramble to cover herself with the sheet.

“Why are you-!!” the flower fairy’s eyes were full of fear and shame. “Get out!”

Dongfang Qingcang phased over to the bed and clamped his hand around her wrist. It was slick with some lubricant and made him clench his teeth.

“Who are you so eagerly preparing yourself for, Xiao Huayao?” the Moon Supreme demanded. “The Dragon General? Or the God of War?”

“N-neither!” Xiao Lanhua stuttered, pushing at his chest while trying to cover herself. “Leave!”

A sweet, cloying scent invaded her usual smell, and Dongfang Qingcang shifted forward, tilting her face up so he could nose under her chin.

“Da Motou!” the flower fairy squeaked and shuddered. “D-don’t…”

“An aphrodisiac…” the Moon Supreme hummed, sitting back. The flower fairy was truly flushed now and scrambling as far away from him as possible. “Be still. Benzou will not touch you. But why did you hide this matter from everyone apart from oneself?”

“I… I was embarrassed…” Xiao Lanhua said, covering her face with the sheet. She had resisted moaning when Dongfang Qingcang had touched her, but with him still close and his heady musk washing over her, she was losing her grip on self-control. “Please leave… I can handle this myself…”

“Clearly not,” Dongfang Qingcang chuckled lowly, making her shiver and press her thighs together. “Xiao Huayao, how many times have you already brought yourself to completion? Surely you are exhausted…”

“Go away!” Xiao Lanhua gasped, curling into herself on the other side of the bed and covering her ears. “Can’t you see you’re making it worse?”

There was a beat of silence before Dongfang Qingcang rolled her over. The sheet fell down to her hips, but the Moon Supreme looked deep into her eyes. His large fingers wrapped around her slender wrists.

“Why is that, Xiao Lanhua?” he asked, his voice rich and deep.

The flower fairy sobbed and shook her head, unable to reply.

“Benzou does not wish you to suffer…” Dongfang Qingcang said, wiping her tears. “Tell me who did this, and Benzou will kill-”

Unable to take it any longer, the flower fairy grabbed his head and tugged him down into a kiss. Her mouth was warm and her tongue even hotter as it tangled around his own. The Moon Supreme was startled, but unable to pull away, letting Xiao Lanhua wrap her arms around his neck. His knees prevented most of his weight from falling on top of her, but he could still feel her writhing under the sheet. Impatient, Dongfang Qingcang ripped it away and slid his hand across her warm thigh. His touch seemed to set her a light, leaving a fever in its wake. His fingers finally dipped in between her legs and the flower fairy moaned into his mouth.

“Shh,” he consoled her, free hand stroking her hair. “It will be over soon…”

It was difficult to grasp the jade phallus because it was so lubricated, but he finally managed to tug it out a little and thrust it back in. Xiao Lanhua bit down harshly on his lip, drawing blood, and he took that as a good sign and continued. The clothing around his groin grew tight, but he ignored it.

“Da Motou…!” she gasped, as he brushed a certain spot, her thighs clenching around his hand.

“There?” Dongfang Qingcang smirked, gently infusing the jade with hellfire so it grew warm to the touch. He pulled it out and aimed it at the same spot, and the little flower fairy jerked several times beneath him, whining. He drew back from her mouth and saw her eyes closed, and she was finally relaxed.

“Sleep, Xiao Lanhua…” Dongfang Qingcang said, covering her naked body with the sheet. But the moment he tried to leave, a small hand reached out and grabbed his sleeve.

“Don’t go…” the flower fairy gasped, her eyes dark and full of desire again. “Hurts…”

Xiao Lanhua’s scent had switched from sweet to spicy and made his throat dry.

“Da Motou…” she pleaded. “Need you… don’t leave me…”

He dropped to his knees by the bed and held her hand. “What can I do?”

Tears dropped from the flower fairy’s eyes and down her flushed cheeks. “I need you to touch me… it hurts when you stop…”

Dongfang Qingcang was torn. On one hand, the emotion of desire that he had never considered before was now thrumming through his veins. On the other, Xiao Lanhua had been drugged and was sure to regret whatever they did come morning.

He made to touch the jade still inside her, but the flower fairy smacked his hand away, scowling.

“Not that! I need you , Da Motou…”

His voice was husky at the demand. “Benzou can pleasure you with fingers or his mouth. But it may take several attempts to break the spell…”

Xiao Lanhua shook her head. “No! N-need you, inside…!”

Dongfang Qingcang knew that people talked about the power the flower fairy had over him. Many whispered in the halls and corridors about what magic and seduction she wielded. But never, until now, had she begged him so…

The Moon Supreme shook his head. “Benzou cannot. Although you may want it now, there will be regrets in the morning. This one will warm the jade for you, so it is more pleasant…”

“No!” Xiao Lanhua sobbed, this time in pain. “Please, please… it feels as though I am being burned alive…”

Dongfang Qingcang was stricken by her tears. It didn’t help when Jie Li tapped the door.

"Yuzen Daren… I have found the antidote, but the trip will take ten hours and I fear we will not make it in time. The scroll says the afflicted person will become infatuated if their cultivation is low and they are not treated…”

There was a cough.

“Dragon General and I will leave now and try to find the cure. Please, look after her in the meantime…”

Hearing the news, Xiao Lanhua curled into herself again and hid behind her palms.

“I know I am not as beautiful as the Moon Tribe’s women, but please… can you please pretend this one time?”

Dongfang Qingcang felt anger sear through him and he tore off his outer robe and boots before climbing on the bed.

“Who dares to say my Xiao Huayao is not beautiful?” he scowled, squeezing Xiao Lanhua’s pink cheeks together. “Tell Benzou, and he will rip out their eyeballs and feed them to him!”

Xiao Lanhua squeaked at the Moon Supreme’s aggression. His eyes were furious, and his hair fell around his shoulders like a silk curtain, making him seem as regal as ever.

“I just feel inadequate standing beside them…” the flower fairy whispered, attempting to cover herself with the sheet. Dongfang Qingcang tutted and gripped her wrist.

“What use is hiding after begging for Benzou so eagerly?” he told her, making her blush even more. “Xiao Huayao, if you have changed your mind, say it now.”

“I haven’t!” Xiao Lanhua gasped, closing her eyes. “I… I’m just scared now that you are looking at me…”

“You have nothing to be afraid of,” the Moon Supreme whispered, kissing her temple. “Benzou will take care of you well.”

With these gentle words, she melted into his embrace. Her fear had tempered her fever somewhat, but once their lips pressed together once more, it was ablaze inside her. She cried out as Dongfang Qingcang’s large hand captured her breast and squeezed softly. He kissed his way down her neck and it was all she could do to lie back and try not to make any noise. The jade was still buried deep inside her, but the throbbing was becoming worse. Only the scorching trail of kisses across her skin was soothing. There was an irony that the only remaining master of hellfire was able to quench the flames boiling in her blood.

Xiao Lanhua clapped a hand over her mouth as the Moon Supreme licked and sucked at her nipples. The aphrodisiac made her more sensitive than usual, and the warmth of his mouth did nothing to dampen the heat building inside her.

“Don’t tease, Da Motou…” she gasped, as he nuzzled the underside of her breast. “Just… do it…”

“Benzou is bigger than that jade, and does not want to hurt you,” the Moon Supreme said, his eyes dark as obsidian. “Xiao Huayao should reach completion once more before Benzou tries…”

Heavens help me… Xiao Lanhua prayed for herself.

“Then hurry…!” she begged.

Dongfang Qingcang smirked and slid further down her body, tugging her thighs apart and hoisting her legs over his shoulders.

“Do not say this one did not warn you…”

The flower fairy was about to ask what he meant when the all-consuming heat of the Moon’s Supreme’s mouth covered her clit and sucked . Unprepared for the sensation, Xiao Lanhua grabbed the silky strands of his hair and tugged. He did not remove the jade, but simply worked around it, whorling his tongue around her clit and making her wetter than she thought possible. Xiao Lanhua could not control her sobs anymore. Her orgasm crash towards her without control. The Moon Supreme cruelly twisted the jade deeper as he licked and teased at the sensitive spot, making her see stars and tightening up more than she thought possible. She screamed his whole name, and it echoed around the sleeping chamber - she was glad they were at least alone in Arbiter Hall.

🌸

When she came too, Dongfang Qingcang made her drink the clear soup that Jie Li had left. It wasn’t as good as his own flower soup, but it was substance and Xiao Lanhua had to keep her strength up. After several cups of  warm honeyed water, he allowed her to lie down again.

“How are you feeling?” he asked.

“Da Motou,” the flower fairy grumbled, fingers grasping his inner robe, “how many times will you make me say it?”

“This one knows,” he laughed, allowing her to pull the dark clothing off. He braced his arms at either side of her head and kissed her lightly. “But my Xiao Huayao is smaller and weaker than Benzou. He has to be careful…”

“You are careful,” Xiao Lanhua mumbled against his mouth, “too careful…”

He sucked her bottom lip playfully, then reached down to slide out the jade. She exhaled sharply, still sensitive, but it slid out thanks to the copious natural lubrication she was producing. In order for her not to tighten up too fast, Dongfang Qingcang lined up and sank inside, the jade left forgotten on the sheets.

“Oooh…” the flower fairy wheezed. He was so much bigger , but also hot and hard in a way the jade had not been. He filled her completely, leaving no edges unerased. “Da Motou…”

A tear caught on her lower lash and the Moon Supreme cupped her cheek, kissing her.

“You’re doing so well, my love. Can you hold on?”

Xiao Lanhua nodded. Although it was painful, she never wanted it to stop. Her body accepted the invasion willingly, and once he was in to the hilt, she wrapped her legs around his hips and squeeze just to feel them connected.

“You’re so beautiful…” Dongfang Qingcang said, dazed as though seeing the little flower fairy underneath him had stolen his breath. “So perfect…”

Xiao Lanhua smiled through her tears. The bone orchid slid down her arm as she reached up to trace his cheekbone. All the things she had been too afraid to do before were now laid bare between them. The Moon Supreme eased out of her, then gently back in, allowing her to adjust.

“Good?” he asked.

“Mmm,” the flower fairy nodded, unable to say actual words. She felt blessed that despite the strange circumstances, the secret desire that had been bubbling inside her was finally able to be released.

The slow but steady strokes were lulling her, but they weren’t enough to subdue the fire completely.

“Faster, Da Motou…” she said, heels digging into his back.

“And you call yourself a fairy,” Dongfang Qingcang grunted, pulling out only to slam back inside her. “Is that fast enough, my insatiable one?”

“Mmm!” Xiao Lanhua groaned, pleasure curling deep within her once more. “So good, Yuzen Daren…”

Using his official title only riled him up further, and the Moon Supreme set a bruising pace, surrendering to the warm heat of the little flower fairy that was squeezing him so tightly. Xiao Lanhua could only roll her head back and take it, her mouth dropping little gasps and pants as her skin shone with sweat. Before she knew what was happening, Dongfang Qingcang had pulled out completely, and she almost shouted at the loss, before he flipped her onto her stomach and slid back into her completely.

The angle was much deeper like this, and Xiao Lanhua could feel his cock drag across that sensitive spot inside, searching. She felt open and exposed, but she trusted Dongfang Qingcang more than anyone in the three realms: his large body covered her and thrusted inside her, his hot breath hit the back of her neck and his large fingers squeezed her hips.

“Xiao Lanhua…” he groaned into her ear, his hand moving around to fondle her clit. “Are you close, my love?”

“Yes!” she gasped, feeling like a firecracker as she was pounded from inside and massaged from the outside. “Ah, ah! Da Motou!”

It took several more strokes before she crumbled, seizing up and clamping around him. Dongfang Qingcang cursed and came inside her, his head resting against her shoulder as he spent his seed.

Xiao Lanhua felt wobbly and liquid-like, as if she was once a little orchid again, controlled by the breeze. The Moon Supreme slipped out of her, and gave a kiss to the back of her neck before easing them down onto the ruined sheets. The flower fairy shivered and sought out his heat, and he opened his arms, letting her rest her head on his chest. He kissed the top of her hair.

“Better?” he asked.

“Mmm,” Xiao Lanhua replied, feeling around for his robe and covering it across their bodies.

Dongfang Qingcang chuckled and pinched her cheek.

“Is my Xiao Huayao finally satisfied?”

“For now…” Xiao Lanhua smiled, turning her face to kiss his palm.

Postscript

Jie Li and Shang Que returned with the antidote, but upon seeing the flower fairy and the Moon Supreme fast sleep, decided to call it a day themselves and went for a drink together.

Xunfeng, convinced his plan would go without a hitch, was shocked to learn not only did the flower fairy not attempt to seduce Shang Que (or he her) but somehow the flower fairy was now engaged to his brother, and in line to be the next Moon Queen!?

In revenge, Jie Li slipped a little something into Xunfeng's own tea. He soon learned to be quiet and respect the new Moon Queen ^^
