Perhaps the battle would’ve been won. But not without the cost of their greatest hero. Here they stood, they won, but not really. A woman, a daughter of Athena, loses her love before she truly knew how she felt for him. A woman, a mortal woman, loses her son just too early. Sixteen is too early for a mother to lose her son.
A man, a god, loses his son and he didn’t even get to see him before the heat of battle. A boy, a cyclops, loses his brother and will forever change from it. Thalia Grace loses her friend. Jason Grace will never get to meet a great fellow warrior. Rachel will never get to bond with him again.
His fellow Campers will lose the one they looked up to the most.
Paul Blofish will lose a son before they ever make it there.
And most of all, a little girl will grow up without ever getting to know her big brother Percy.
