Collective Ark

Summary:

Vex do not bother with starships. the network makes the most advanced starship seem as primitive as a horse-drawn vehicle in comparison to a sparrow.
Where this artifact comes from then, is a mystery. A jumpship comprised entirely of vex technology, yet void of Vex sentience.

Encrypted Message, Vex datamarkers.

Eris. I have learned a great deal in my time in the Network. Their power, their knowledge, their plans, their science, all open to me.
When Quria sought to consume the city, I saw a path out.

I remembered when you took some of the Hive’s own matter, and forged a starship, a reminder that despite all that had been done to you, that you were still, irrevocably, yourself.

You gave me hope, the day I went in to the Pyramidion, and allowed the Vex to complete their assimilation.

You showed me that I could retain my own will, my own self.
You gave me hope that Axiom might still be themself even under all that Vex tech.
And when the opportunity arose, I took that memory and used it myself.

The Vex don’t need to bother with starships. What they can do exceeds the capabilities of any mere starship. But the very technology that makes them up can be used to create a jumpship like we use.

I wove the ship from their data, encrypted myself within it’s circuits, and launched it out of an aperture to the real.

I’ve seen the doom the Vex bring to the galaxy, and someone must put a stop to it. I don’t know when we will see each other again, but remember.

You are always yourself, no matter how you change.

There is more to us than vengeance.

In the Light, Asher Mir.

Notes:

I chose writing because i find even difficult prose or rhyme to be more straightforwards than trying to do complicated geometry accurately. which is to say Harpy cowling is complicated and I hate my imagination for asking for it to be on this.
