Chapter Text
In all 21 years of his life, Cheng Xiaoshi never thought his life could take such a turn. He had to find a significant other and a child in the next 24 hours for a mission. This was going to be such a pain. Cheng Xiaoshi groaned.
Two men were standing defensively in front of the man who Cheng Xiaoshi recognized as his target, ready to shoot. The man was holding some of the documents which contained the information requested by the agency.
He quickly took care of the two men and managed to tie them up.
Cheng Xiaoshi was about to receive a punch in the face, which he had luckily dodged by crouching down.
'Now, I have to get the documents, or else this mission will fail'
He got behind the man swiftly and replaced the documents from the man's hands with some A4 posters about the importance of washing your hands taken from the hospital just as swiftly. Then he ran away and got in the man's car without him somehow noticing. Cheng Xiaoshi grinned as he watched the man fumble with the posters in frustration, realizing he had been tricked. He turned on the engine and off he went, getting rid of his disguise. He wasn't known as the agent of time for nothing. The speed he was able to get things done was incredible.
He went to report the success of his mission and receive the next one when he got the order that put him in this predicament.
Now he was at an orphanage, trying to find the ideal child. The child had to be unique so he could enter that school. His eyes scanned the children, not finding anyone adequate.
"What type of kid do you want exactly? I can assure you that each and every single one of these children are obedient," the caretaker said. She seemed to genuinely care about them, which Cheng Xiaoshi thought was very sweet of her.
As he scanned through the room, he found in the corner a small and skinny child. He was sitting on his knees, with his head bowed low, as if he was hiding his face from the world.
"Are you looking at our little Mika? He is the quietest child out of every single one of them. Very obedient too, he always does as I say. A pity he was thrown away by his parents."
'Poor child', he thought, 'he has suffered so much..'
Cheng Xiaoshi got closer to the child to inspect him.
"Can you look at me, little one?" He asked when gently patting the mop of hair.
When the child looked at him, he was awestruck. The most beautiful pair of heterochromatic eyes stared at him, one gold, the other lapis lazuli. And one of his eyes looked similar to Cheng Xiaoshi's when he was using his powers. He was the perfect child! Now all that was left was the significant other.
