Chapter Text
Trevor got home late from work, right as Olivia was putting their son and daughter down for bed. As he approached the door to his family’s apartment he could hear his newborn daughter screaming. When he opened the door his newly turned three year old son, Noah ran to greet him at the door.
“Hi, No!” Trevor scooped up his son, giving him a hug and kiss. “Where is Momma?”
Pointing to his parents’ bedroom, Noah replied, “Mags is VERY mad.”
“I can hear that. Should we go try to help Mommy?” Noah nodded and the two made their way to his bedroom.
“Mommy, look! Daddy is home!” Noah was overly cheerful for the current mood of the room.
Trevor walked over to Olivia and Margaret and started stroking his daughter’s eyebrows with his finger. “Here, trade me baby,” Trevor said as he took Margaret from Olivia and she took Noah from him.
Trevor took the screaming baby girl in his arms. He put her up to his shoulder. He put his lips against her head that was covered in very fine dark brown hair. He whispered “shhh” as he bounced softly. And she began to settle.
Olivia watched from the door as she held a sleepy Noah who clung to her with his right arm around her neck and his left thumb in his mouth. For a moment she felt disappointed. She should be able to calm her daughter. But that feeling didn’t last long because she was head-over-heels in love with the man in front of her and raising children with him was her favorite. She loved how much her children loved their Daddy.
Olivia took Noah to his room. Noah curled up in his mother’s lap and she read him his favorite ABCs of Construction book for the 500th time that day. The little boy fell asleep before his mother got to Jackhammer (and as much as she loves her son, she was WAY over reading this book). She laid the boy down gently, covered him up, and left a kiss on the side of his head before making her way back to the master bedroom.
Olivia walked into the room and wrapped her arms around Trevor on his right side, leaning her head on his shoulder. She looked at her newborn baby girl in her father’s arms as she rubbed her back.
“She just missed her Daddy.” Olivia stated as she looked up at Trevor. “I’ve missed him too.” Trevor leaned down to kiss Olivia.
“The trial ended today.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah; we made a deal. My client will get psychiatric care. I knew he was guilty. But I also knew that prison wasn’t the answer.”
“You’re a good man, Trevor Langan; and father and partner. I love you.” She kissed him again.
“I love you, too.”
“I’m going to get ready for bed.”
