“What happened?” a female with long brown hair says as she looks around the room she was currently in. Nothing about it screamed dangerous, but then again… it could just be a front to make her lower her guard “Is anyone out there? Hello!” she screamed out, hoping to find someone or anyone
“Skye! Thank goodness you’re alright” a British voice said in relief as the female now known as Skye turned around and saw none other than her fellow teammate Jemma Simmons with Leo Fitz at her side as Skye sighed in relief at having familiar faces with her
“Simmons, Fitz, do you have any idea where we are?” she asked the two S.H.I.E.L.D scientists as they shook their heads before Skye remembered something else “Wait have you seen anyone else? Ward? May? Coulson?”
“No, you’re the only one we’ve been able to find so far. I really don’t understand how we got here though. We were on the BUS, unless someone snuck in and took us out… though we weren’t on the ground when this happened...” Fitz says, unable to make sense of what happened
“It’s all a blur for me. One minute I’m in my room on the BUS, next thing I know I’m waking up in the middle of this strange place” Skye says with a sigh. She just hopes they weren’t kidnapped by someone who wants them dead, she rather not have her last moments in a place like this... no matter how not creepy looking it seemed
“Coulson! May! Found them!” a new voice calls out as the trio whip their heads and see none other than agent Grant Ward leaning on the wall. Soon agents Melinda May and Phil Coulson round the corner and have looks of relief when their eyes landed on the younger trio huddled together
“Seems whoever took us, made sure to include the whole package. Everyone is accounted for” Coulson joked, trying to relieve the tension in the room as Skye mentally thanked him for the effort
“This whole place is a maze. We were lucky to have even found them. No exists, signs or clue on where we are. I don’t like this one bit” May says with crossed arms at how they had no way of escaping
“Umm you guys see that door, right? I mean unless my eyes are playing tricks on me… I don’t remember one being there” Fitz suddenly said, seeing a door which wasn’t there before. The others turn and to their surprise, there was a door with a note that said READ ME stuck onto it. They glanced at one another, not sure what to make of this whole situation
Since no one was brave enough or maybe stupid enough to walk over, Coulson was the one to take a cautiously step towards the door and yanked the note away. Opening it up, he began to read what it said “Welcome agents of S.H.I.E.L.D! I bet you’re wondering what you’re all doing here, right? Well, I thought to myself, why not show you all your future! Now please keep in mind this is gonna be 4 years from your current time and boy are you in for many surprises here”
“4 years? Is that even possible, to watch our futures I mean?” Skye asked with a tilted head as no one answered her question and turned back to Coulson who in turn continued reading
“Once this is all over, you’ll be returned to the exact time that you were taken. It will be as if no time had passed, seeing as the you’re currently in a room that exists outside of time... don’t ask cause I don’t know the science behind it myself. If you wish to know more about what I’m talking about, you can proceed into the room in which this note was stuck onto. Signed Mari” Coulson finished as the paper in his hands disappeared from his hands without warning
“Is this a joke?” May asked, clearly not amused by this whole thing
“I only read what the note says. If what she is saying is true though, perhaps we could gain valuable information on what’s to come and how to stop it” Coulson said with a thoughtful look. He looked at the door where he’d ripped the note from and wondered what exactly that door held behind it
“What about the whole ‘knowing your future is bad’ and all?” Skye questioned, though she wouldn’t mind watching this. It might reveal the answers she’s been looking for this whole time about who she is and who her parents were
“Since none of you have left or even made a move to, I’ll take that as in you wish to stay. Also, don’t worry bout that! I promise you, nothing bad will happen if you watch this” a young voice said as the group turned around. Standing before them was a brunette who seemed as if she were 20 years old. She had shoulder length brown hair with a couple of different blonde highlights. The girl wore a leather jacket, a pair of leggings and running shoes. Her brown eyes held mischief in them as she wore a smile
“You must be Mari, the one who brought us here I’m guessing?” Fitz asked as the brunette gave him a nod, confirming her identity to the S.H.I.E.L.D agents
“Why?”
“Didn’t you read the note? I was pretty clear when I wrote it. Besides you should be glad I even came. I was originally gonna make you watch these episodes on your own, but then decided to join you all to see the reactions and brought two guests with me”
“Guests?” questioned Ward, speaking for the first time since they had all reunited
Mari ignored him as she gestured them to follow her. They did so after a moment of hesitation since the group didn’t trust the girl before them. Mari didn’t mind, she’d do the same in their positions after all. Parents have always warned their kids about not talking or trusting strangers after all
Following their young kidnapper, they watched her open the giant door to reveal a giant sized screen with multiple chairs as if it were a theater room. Skye in particular took note of the fact that there were two people already in the room as she could hear them arguing about something
“I leave you both for a few minutes and already you’re fighting with one another. I get that you just found out the truth about your brother but cut him some slack for not wanting you to know a couple of things about him” Mari said with a sigh as the two current occupants in the room turn to face them all. One was in a wheelchair, wearing a simple hoodie and jeans. The other was older than him and had his leather jacket open to reveal a red shirt underneath, a pair of jeans and sneakers
Skye didn’t expect those two to have recognition on their faces as soon as they saw her and the rest of the team. The only one they held a different reaction towards was Ward, the younger in confusion and the older one with a restrained anger which confused Skye
“I’m agent Phill Coulson. This is my team, agents Melinda May, Grant Ward, Jemma Simmons, Leopold Fitz and Skye” Coulson introduced since he saw no reason to further delay this any longer and if they were going to be watching the future saw no reason not to tell them they were agents
The older one hesitated, but with a nod from Mari, he sighed and turned back to the group of people he knew “Robbie Reyes and this is my brother Gabe Reyes” he introduced with an unease tone, something which Skye didn’t blame him for
“Why exactly are they here? None of us have even heard of either of them and are probably just nobodies” Ward said as they both glared at him. If they had been watching Robbie in particular, they’d have seen a slight orange glow in his eyes before Mari spoke up
“Like I said, they are my guests and are both people who you will encounter in the future. Both deserve to be here, just as much as you all do. So I wouldn’t talk badly about them” Mari said in a clear no nonsense tone as Ward decided to leave it that for the moment. If only he knew she was mostly doing this so Ward wouldn’t get the full dose of Ghost Rider’s anger... no matter how much he deserved it
“Now with that out of the way, let’s get started!” Mari said, making her way towards Gabe and Robbie and sitting beside the younger teen. Seeing the others still hesitant, Mari just shrugged them off and grabbed a remote from her hoodie, turning the screen on as an episode guide appeared before them
“Oh! Before I forget, washrooms are to the left and over there is the food court. If you get hungry, just order anything you like, the replicator will make it without a problem and no it won’t be poisoned since those two already ate and are still standing” Mari said with an eye roll at how many times she had to explain she wasn’t here to kill or harm them. She should be glad Robbie could see she wasn’t lying when she had explained the situation to them or else she’d have been no match for him as Ghost Rider
Without waiting for another word, Mari hit play as the room turned dark and started playing to episode
