i need to apologise in advance for how long this is. forgive me.
Hi! So glad you decided to give this story a read!
So there's a few things you need to know before getting into the story, plot and convenience wise.
✨ Firstly, this story is designed to be a nice, quick read, so chapters aren't huge—and yeah I know the plot isn't great—so this I apologise for ✨
As I have already completed the story, Updates will most likely be twice a week, exact days to be decided. The cover is temporary but will probably end up staying because I'm lazy, so take it or leave it lol.
Okay. Changes.
I'll start with How To Train Your Dragon
If you haven't seen it, what's the name of the rock you live under??? lol.
If you actually haven't seen it, I strongly suggest going and watching the movies at least cause they are amazing. (And then maybe rob/dof, and RTTE. Don't bother with anything else like rescue riders or the nine realms, they're 💩 and as part of the Httyd fandom we don't talk about those... )

Good! so, pretty much everything is staying the same! Since there's inconsistencies between the series and the movies, I decided to 'fix' them:
RTTE:
* Viggo has no influence on the Zippleback gas in Inferno. (This is less of a consistency fix and more of me thinking Hiccup should get A L L the spotlight lol.)
* there was no Bewilderbeast appearance—including the egg.
*Heather will not be making an appearance in this fic (I low-key hate her and she's unimportant) but she might be mentioned
*Hiccup kept his ornate shield (still don't know where that went. Did he lose it in the RTTE finale???)
Ok, now that's sorted, let's do The Hidden World. Since it broke my heart, I decided to fix it! Because ignorance is bliss.
The Hidden World:
—most events are still happening, but I needed to change a few things in order for the Light Fury to fit in and not be hated (by me mostly)
I'll spare you the details, but basically the Light Fury is more trusting to the humans, which was achieved through patience and hard work. She lives in THW. BY THE WAY: Imagine her without the stupid characteristics like glitter 😒 (I could write an essay about her looks). Her tail is still the same tho.
* following the final battle, the only major thing that's different is that, with the threat of Grimmel gone and the security of a new location, the dragons STAY with the Berkians!
* Toothless can come and go between new berk and the hidden world as much as he wants. He tends to go to THW every couple of weeks, for up to maybe 4 or 5 days. (like a kid with split parents lmao)
* Toothless likes his automatic tail when alone at THW, but prefers the 'manual' one with Hiccup cause bonding ect.
*NO TIME SKIP, NO HICCSTRID KIDS AND NO HICCSTRID MARRIAGE. Yet 😉
However, the story will pick up about a year since settling New Berk for convenience reasons.

Disclaimer: have mercy in me because this is the 1st time I've written about marvel. I also have not seen every movie though I'm getting closer to watching almost all of them (no one and no thing would ever force me to watch the Incredible Hulk.)
If you wanna know, my favourite movie is Thor Ragnarok and no it's not just because of the black suit. But you couldn't blame me if it was.
Anyway, the changes!
-There was a dusting, but it was like a week or something. It didn't take long for Tony to be rescued from space and help to put things right. (This means Morgan does not exist)
-Tony Stark is not dead! He snapped, but wasn't killed because plot :)
-Natasha is not dead! (neither is Clint in case you were thinking I swapped them),
-Pietro still is, sorry Wanda. To make it up to her Vision is alive.
-Loki is NOT dead! He still had his redemption arc though. Basically he used illusions and other forms of magic and skills to fight back against Thanos and help Thor escape.
-Like classic Loki, but the tva was looking in the other direction and Loki's not destined to be alone.
-also to clarify, Jonathan (😏) was still destroyed by Hela and Thor is still a fucking thunder god at peak power so he doesn't need a new hammer anyway. So no Stormbreaker yet, but he might get it sometime. If you see me slip up with this, please let me know :)
-basically yeah, everyone else dead is not. Asgard was not completely destroyed by the events of Ragnarok.
Now for plot reasons, the Avengers, Revengers, Guardians etc still all joined forces to bring Thanos down quickly after everyone was snapped back, because they know how dangerous he is bla bla bla.
-No one went splat. Maybe Gamora, but the Guardians aren't making an appearance in this fic.
-There was still that nice reunion (and ofc the heartbreaking dusting) between Tony and Peter.
-Tony woke up from the coma (he was induced so his body could recover from the snap) around the end of Far From Home. He basically woke up and was like what's that on the news??? Peters fighting something? Jjj is about to broadcast live? Can't be a good connection there. And then hack in to the identity exposure before it could even start and be like "lol nope😎."
-Tony and Peter have become closer because of all the events, and sometimes Peter will be at the tower (not sold) to help Tony out in the lab like a good now-only-sorta-fake intern. Mostly on the weekends and a day or so after school.
-Peter's also becoming closer with the Avengers (Loki is an honorary member but they're keeping him out of the public eye for obvious reasons) but not close close. He trains with them but that's pretty much it.
-ONLY TONY KNOWS PETER'S IDENTITY. (And Pepper, MJ, Ned, May, Stephen (and technically Carol "Hey peter parker", and Happy ofc... so not really "only" Tony lol)
-I'm a fan of irondad, so Tony and Peter kinda see each other as father and son but are too scared to admit it to each other in fear of ✨rejection ✨
-Steve's not an old man cause he's not the same man as he was with Peggy (who iS NOT REDUCED TO A VOICELESS LOVE INTEREST) AND HE HAS PEOPLE (B U C K Y) HERE TO CARE FOR (I feel very strongly about this cause it destroyed his arc 😑) (Plus I heard she is based on/ is a nazi??? Or is that only Captain Carter? Heh, more like Captain CUTer cause she— I think you get it.) however, Sam is still going to be the New cap! :D cause he's awesome af. Not sure whether this will happen within this story or not yet.
-I ship a lot of different marvel people, but for this it'll be Pepperony and spideychelle/peterchelle mainly (but barely, if you don't like those ships dw it's not very present)
-I'm undecided if I'll add any more ships, as this story is more about platonic relationships and the plot ain't got room for romance tbh.
-I also ship Thorki JUST KIDDING I JUST WANTED TO SEE IF YOU WERE PAYING ATTENTION LMAOO. That shits nastyyy, same with Starker you pedo fucks.
I think that's covered all the changes? If not, hmu and I'll smooth it out 👌 (Ok now I sound like someone after a booty call... ew)
✨✨✨This story was planned WELL before the Spider-man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the multiverse of Madness movies hit cinemas. I started writing it sometime in July 2021 I believe, after sitting on the idea for like a year lol, and it is currently May 2022 as I write this so obviously you can tell I procrastinate. (And it's March 2023 NOW so... I need to stop procrastinating). If plot points are at times similar to those movies it's most likely a coincidence. ✨✨✨
Ok, now that's settled, onto the story!
