Fumu leaned on her hand. She and her family had gone to dinner at Kawasaki’s. They should have left 10 minutes ago, but one of her mom’s friends had shown up, and they had started chatting away. At this point she was about ready to get up and walk back to the castle by herself. Her parents probably wouldn’t notice if she went on a quick walk around town.
Fumu stood up and headed over to the door. She pushed the restaurant's door open with ease. The chilly air of the outside rushed through the door, but it didn’t phase Fumu. She walked into the cold. Even with her coat on, the air still seeped into her bones. The girl made her way down the sidewalk. It was nice to get some fresh, albeit cold air after the smell of disgusting food. “BOO!” Shouted a feminine voice behind her.
“GAH!” She exclaimed, whipping around to face the one who scared her.
It was her partner Gryll! Gryll chuckled to itself. “Sorry darling, it was just so easy to sneak up on you!”
If it had been anyone else Fumu would have been fuming, but she knew Gryll was only being silly. “Oh hello Gryll! What brings you here so late?” Inquired Fumu.
“Well sugar I saw you talking a walk, so I thought I might join ya if you don’t mind”
That didn’t really answer her question but Fumu didn’t mind. “Sure, I wouldn’t mind some company,” Fumu said, starting to move forward once more.
Gryll started to walk alongside their girlfriend. “ Soooo what have you done this week?” He asked.
Fumu placed her hand on her chin in thought. “Well, let's see… yesterday I went to the beach and found a really pretty shell. And I finished reading the book I told you about last week.”
“Oooh that's nice! How did it end?” Gryll inquired, making exaggerated movements to show his curiosity.
“Well it was revealed that the villain was actually the guy who death set Aqua to go on the quest to defeat him in the first place. Aqua doesn’t know this yet though. I plan on getting the next book tomorrow,” Fumu explained.
“That's delightful! Sounds like an enjoyable book. Might check it out myself,” Gryll commented, “I watched a really good horror movie! It was about these robots that came to life to torrent their murderer! But the twist is that it's actually some random guy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time! I'm in love! Can’t wait to get my hands on the next movie!”
Fumu’s mouth turned into a grin. Hearing Gryll being so passionate about something always made Fumu smile. “You don’t mind if talk a bit more about it do you?” Gryll asked to make sure it wasn’t talking too much.
Fumu nodded. “Of course. I don’t mind one bit.”
The witch’s eyes lit up. “The Oh there is just SO much I could talk about. The best character in my opinion was definitely Popcorn the chicken! They were the most logical of the robots and were the only ones to doubt if they had the right guy! They had my fav character arc!” Gryll started to rant.
The two partners continued along the sidewalk. Gryll talked about her interests and Fumu attentively listened. Even when they had made it back to Kawasaki’s they continued to chat for a while. It had gotten even colder outside but the two of them didn’t mind one bit. A good ten whole minutes later Fumu’s parents FINALLY emerged from the building. “Welp, seems like it's time for me to head out. See ya later babe!” And with that Gryll was off.
