Great Minds Think Alike

Summary:

Jack discovers that a good fitness routine isn't the only thing he has in common with his Tsum.

Notes:

So, I actually DID NOT come up with the idea for this story during the actual Tsum event, but a few weeks after it was finished because I have been like knee-deep in Queen of Thorns and I needed a distraction.

Also, happy belated birthday Vil!

Work Text:

It had only been about three hours and Jack had already lost his patience.

He absolutely couldn't figure this damn tsum out. It seemed to be just him in a smaller figure, but Jack knew that there was more to the small creature than met the eye.

After he has discovered that the Tsum enjoyed Jack's strenuous workouts, they had worked out for a good two hours before finishing and still, it seemed that the tsum wasn't done.

In fact, it took off almost immediately, leaving Jack to chase after it, almost grateful for his ridiculous stamina.

The tsum vanishes through the Savanaclaw mirror and Jack lost sight of it, which would have made him panic...if not for his keen sense of smell.

It didn't take long for him to pick up the scent trail and followed it to the hall of mirrors, only to realize, with a growing sense of horror, that his Tsum had gone straight to the Pomefiore mirror.

Jack chased after it, the Tsum staying just ahead of him as it jumped through the mirror, bounded across the Pomefiore grounds, and made its way into the dorm.

Jack groaned as he ran after it into the form, knowing that  Vil would probably chastise him for causing such chaos when he probably had his hands full dealing with Epel.  But it wasn't his fault the damn soft plushy thing had a mind of its own!

Jack turned a corner just in time to nearly crash a dorm meeting. He was able to come to a half just in time to watch his tsum literally bounce over the heads of several Pomefiore students before landing right at Vil's feet.

Vil was sitting primly in his usual spot, the golden peacock throne (the sight of Vil in his dorm uniform sitting on said throne always made Jack sigh at the beauty of it) and he was very surprised when the tsum landed at his feet.

"Oh, do we have another little guest?"  Vil asked, raising an eyebrow.  "Another Tsum?"

Jack's plush doppelgänger leaped with joy at the sound of Vil's voice and managed to land itself firmly in Vil's lap, little. tail wagging as hard as it could.

Vil was immediately charmed.  "Oh, well aren't you just adorable! I see you not only share Jack's good looks but also his good taste." He picked up the Tsum and laughed when it nuzzled his face like a puppy.

This made the other Pomefiore students laugh amongst themselves. Vil being head over heels for Jack was no secret, and it was amusing to them to watch their dorm leader coo over the tsum.

Jack, for his part,  wasn't sure if he should be mortified or jealous.

Vil then put the tsum down in his lap and continued the meeting, petting it lovingly as he talked.   And then, when he paused, he saw Jack standing at the door of the lounge, trying to avoid being seen.  He smiled and blew Jack a little kiss, which caused his entire face to go scarlet.

Once the meeting was over and the students had dispersed, Vil called out to Jack. "I know you've been lurking over there, don't be rude, darling. Come here."

Jack finally entered the dorm lounge, looking embarrassed. "Vil, I'm sorry, I know I probably interrupted something important..."

"How can I be angry when I have this adorable thing in my lap?" Vil asked, patting the tsum, which bounced happily, loving the attention.  "You must have your hands full with it." Vil then tapped his cheek with a perfectly manicured nail, and Jack obliged him with a kiss, his own tail wagging.

"You might say somethin' like that. He’s real disciplined though. Took to my fitness routine like a champ. Wonder why he ran off to see you..."

"Perhaps our love is universal and he just wanted to be around a familiar scent," Vil theorized as he nuzzled the tsum. "Is that why you came all the way here? Is there a little version of me that you miss?"

Jack couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Vil cooing to the tsum as if it were s small child and then, just for a second, he imagined if that was how Vil would talk to their pups one day. He then shook his head, banishing the thought as quickly as it came.

Vil had gotten his phone out while Jack had been distracted and managed to snap a few pictures of the three of them for his private collection. "U want to have at least some nice memories of this time of utter chaos...at least your little plushie self is better behaved than Epel's, who likes to fight, of all things!"

Vil ranted for a little while longer before he carefully handed the tiny Jack back to its larger counterpart. He took notice of the dreamy way both Jacks were looking at him and a little bit of crimson dusted his cheeks.

"You're staring."

"I can't help it sometimes..." Jack leaned over and pressed his forehead against Vil's. "You really are the fairest one of all."

Vil almost melted into a puddle of silk, only to be stopped by the tsum leaping up to kiss him on the lips before hopping onto Jack's shoulder.

Vil's violet eyes grew wide and he laughed.

Jack blushed, only for his ears and tail to perk up as Vil gently kissed him on the lips.

And then it was Jack's turn to nearly melt into a puddle, which was then rudely interrupted by the sound of crashing and Epel yelling in his usual accent.

Vil broke the kiss with a sigh.

"I guess you should go take care of that," Jack said as Vil stood up.

"What in the name of Grimhilde am I going to do with that boy?" Vil sounded only slightly exasperated. "Will you be joining me tomorrow for our usual run?"

"Only if you don't mind this little guy coming along."

Vil smiled. "Oh, I don't." And then he was gone.

Jack and his tsum watched Vil go with hearts practically pouring out of their eyes.

"He's something special, isn't he?" Jack said, smiling as the little rsum bounced a few times in agreement.

"Well, even though you can't talk, it's nice to know we like the same things."

The tsum couldn't help but agree, little tail wagging as hard as it could.
