Schrodinger's boy

Summary:

A poem written by the one mortals call death.

Work Text:

It was sudden. Not at all welcomed.
You held on for your own, stubborn with faith in your soul. First in your foolishness and then in your horror.
A child, you took life for granted. It was time to pay for what you owe.
You insisted that you were not ready, like many. And like for many I dismissed, but like almost no one I listened, but not because you asked.
Was it worth it, Schrodinger's boy? At the end was it worth it at all?
At first you didn't cry. You simply couldn't. You wanted and thus I promised that you will, I would help you find calmness.
So I made you scream instead, to tear your insides apart. You won't need them anymore so why bother not ignite?
Like a flame in a lamp, a new you burst to existence. And forget my awe, it is your time shine.
So tell me, Schrodinger's boy, I demand. Was it worth it again at your end?
When it was now over, and you cried after all. Are you now relieved? Schrodinger's boy?
You are no more, and you should accept it.
I've lifted the lid, but I still can't tell.
Were you actually gone at the end?
